- Hi guys, I bought four y-pipe collectors and I go over them in good detail. I’ll be installing one of them onto my RAM for better flow.
The stock Y-pipe collector is very restrictive and I found a low priced Y collector that will help!
Here is the TOTALFLOW Y:

The TOTALFLOW came as expected.
The MAGNAFLOW came much different than in the Amazon picture and description.

The magnaflow where its crimped in may be better. not allowing exhaust to expand would keep more velocity which is key to exhaust. A chamber that opens up slows flow. This is why you can also have to big off pipe. Back pressure is a myth it's all about optimal velocity
Chad Linkhart true, but the way the TOTALFLOW is tapered helps get the exhaust out quick too. The Magnaflow’s chamber is a full 3” chamber which may not be too good. I wish I could try both, again they’re both good!
@@TunedRAMS I'll attest that the magnaflow xpipe lasted a hole week before it started rusting lol
Chad Linkhart with the name you would think they’d make it with better quality steel. Actually on Amazon they don’t even mention if it’s 409 ss or not!
@@TunedRAMS yea the quality is trash but for the 50 bucks I paid it works better than stock and the sound with no muffler is beastly
It is not a myth it just depends on if your referring to the old definition of back pressure or the modern definition of back pressure..but theres a reason why mid pipes effect engines performance so much..
Would like to hear both.. See if there is a difference in sound??

@@TunedRAMS I have the 2 way entrance y pipe, but I missing the long pipe that will eventually replace the muffler, but I don't know the exact measurements on the trucks stock pipes

You have that wrong bud.. It's 3 inch in with the dual out when using it on the dodge ram..
ALLLSHO18 well bud, it’s 2.5 inlet and 3” outlet at the Y bud. Not the rear Y bud.
@@TunedRAMS not on the 4 rams I've owned .. Single in dual out.. The cats go to a single exhaust into the muffler and dual out of the muffler for the dual exhaust look... I'd like to see pics how you have it installed.. I'm really curious 😁😁

ALLLSHO18 headers flow into the stock Y pipe. I’m removing that Y collector, where the two 2.5” pipes go into the Y collector, and replacing it with a new Y collector. After the Y it goes into a 3” pipe, then back to another Y pipe to feed the rear tips.
Unless you have a rare straight 6 engine set up, you’re confused. I’ve owned 4 RAMS as well bud.
If you can’t understand that, go crawl under a 4th gen and get back to me bud!
@@TunedRAMS I've had 3 forth Gen's and oohhh I thought you were just deleting the muffler with just the one why pipe lol didn't realize you were gonna be using 2 you didn't say that in your video, that's what had me confused.. That's all I have done on all of mine is just the 1 y pipe..
