New Audi RS7 vs San Francisco!

- The Audi RS7 is back, with an extra helping of ‘Performance’!
Though you’ll have to be seriously eagle-eyed to spot any visual changes, the real story of this new super saloon lies under the bonnet. With a couple of tweaks to the turbochargers, the RS7 Performance gains 30hp and 50Nm for a total of 630hp and 850Nm.
As a result, the claimed 0-60mph figure drops to 3.4 seconds with top speed electronically capped at 189mph. Some tweaks have been made to the chassis to make the most of that additional power, namely some weight savings in the form of reduced sound deadening and the standard inclusion of rear-wheel steering.
Inside, you’re met with a familiar interior - albeit with some new stitching options and a little more technology as standard.
All this extra goodness comes at a price though, with the Audi RS7 Performance starting at £116,545. That’s almost £20,000 more than before!
Is it worth the extra cost? Stick with Mat and find out…

Since 2017, the RS7 imo has been one of the most beautiful production cars.
It's just gorgeous to look at
The Audi RS7 along with LeMans Quattro, Audi R8 and R35GTR are definitely some of the most gorgeous cars indeed.
i think the f90 m5 looks better tbh
even before 2017. for me it was always the best looking audi
Boring af
Mercedes = AMG GT
BMW = M8 Coupe
That handling on that twisty brick road was insane, crazy how fast Mat could go!
💀💀💀
As much overtaking as F1 actually
@@jerga2002he went past 15 bugatti bolides in 3 seconds 😯

You know what else is insane? The homelessness in that city.
If you want to test it in san Fransisco you might want to check out the alarm system as well
Alarm system?... You need a pistol holster under the seat while driving a posh car in SF.

To be honest, the RS7 Is scary quick, and also a limousine at the same time, which is why its my favourite car from audi.
Best of both worlds man. Love the RS7 and kudos to any owner of any RS model really. Let alone tunability and modding.
RS5 owner here :)
@@ravenks1sr15wish we can engine swapped the Pennzoil Nismo R34GT-R into this RS7...
@@ravenks1sr15 So true.
The RS5 is quick as shit too, Quattro AWD for the W.
@@purwantiallan5089 better not ruin a car with engine swaps. this car alone has a lot of potential.
I'd put golden braking calipers.
Absolutely love the RS7, it isn't very socially famous but an absolute amazing car.
The rear is so ugly that it may be better. In the basic A7 has a front drive, which in this class of cars is absurd. You can feel that Audi has a lot in common with Volkswagen
@@smokwawelski7235 Not surprisingly, Audi is VW's own. Most Audi models are VW a slightly different looking version of VW.
VW and Audi are garbage

The RS7 is really underrated
Yeah I like its saloon long style more than the RS6, looks wise RS7 looks really nice even though thats more practical.
It's not really. Its hella expensive, even 1st gen. Usually F10 M5 and E63 are less expensive too
It is pretty af but it’s competitors are faster and sometimes even cheaper and more fun
Yeah i had one,it was faster than many supercars❤
@@xappgametvxthose aren’t the same class as this although faster, This is in the class of M8 and AMG GT
Man I love Audi!!! Had 3 of them so far, and my 4th will be the RS7. Absolute beast.
Audi RS7 has 420bhp in my opinion.

Pretty wild if it’s a coincidence
Lol 🤣🤣
The Audi RS7 is one of the coolest and most futuristic looking Audi car ever!
Yep. Along with Impreza 22B STi that is.
Nah mate. Keep your hondas and supras far, far away from this one
8:06 that’s the smoothest transition I’ve in carwow, good job editors
Hey Matt the next time you're in San Francisco, think about taking the Pacific Coast Highway to the Redwood National Park it's a long drive almost to the border with Oregon but the roads are fantastic and you can see some of the oldest trees in the world. The performance looks like an awesome car and the drive would put its handling, and braking prowess to the test.
Skyline blvd down in the Santa Cruz mountains is fun too. Only 40 min drive.
@@BryanW916 You're right and not as far as my suggestion, I was born in Woodside Ca. My parents moved to New York when I was eight so I didn't grow up out there most of my family still live in Northern California so I come back for visits that's how I know about the State.
@@BryanW916yes. And even 27mins into the Brooklyn.
I came here to say this! Some of the worlds best driving roads are within an hour of San Francisco and Mat avoided them all while mocking the boring city streets he drove on. Highway 9, 17, 35 (Skyline Blvd), 1 (Pacific Coast Highway) heck even 280 is a fun drive. There are endless fun mountain roads in the area.
@@_A-A_ You're right, he acted like a tourist you would think he would do some research before coming here. Most of these car companies load the GPS with routes to showcase their cars in the best light. Matt your drag racing videos are boring do something else.

Great to see Mat and carwow now shooting videos all over the globe. The golden gate bridge is a piece of art just like that Audi RS7 in that colour too.
Lol, San Fran? I wonder how much armed security the team went with
Great but the video was kinda pointless
Brilliant Matt. Getting to drive a new Audi RS7 Performance for free and tour San Francisco and probably writing it off as a business expense to do this review is next level genius. I envy you!
1:15 The memory in this road I miss drifting in driver
I think the Audi RS7 performance can be very interesting especially because the ecu tune is so easy to go +700hp stock
unfortunately stock the car is still slower than a M5 Comp.
I'm afraid that even then it will be boring, after all, it's an Audi.🙃
Almost every new german car goes 700+ with Ecu tune look at the new M3 with only 510ho can reach easiky 700ho with only a tune
@@sancho2112i think AutoTopNL managed a 2.6 seconds from 0-60 in a 750hp M3. German cars are fucking ridiculous
If it's anything like the C7 RS7 the bhp figure you will get from an ECU tune will be identical whether you have a standard or a performance version of the RS7. So unless you love the blue stitching, blue raw carbon, alcantara trim inserts and the forged wheels, save yourself £20k, buy the normal version and tune it. Assuming the normal one is still available, I understand in certain markets it has been withdrawn and performance edition is all you can get.
The new Audi RS7 Performance have a super cool and sporty design with an amazing 630hp and 850Nm of torque from a lovely turbocharged engine!
You're just repeating what mat says😂😂 YOU ARE A 100% A BOT
Who wanted Mat to launch the RS7 down that hill...?
Love the Individual Car Reviews! You should drive it here in Germany on the Autobahn but i'm glad you got invited to test it in San Franciso, even if you got Limits there, still great looking Environment!
I just saw one of these 2 Days ago here on the Autobahn with Dealership Plates and It not only sounded better than i expected and was passing me effortless while i was driving 200km/h (120mph) so the Driver drove probably 220-230km/h (136mph-142mph)
Prost & Cheers from Frankfurt, Germany
Eh, wish we also could see Mat reviewed the Caterham 7 Fireblade.
Man the edits on this video is something else. Really good job to the editor, nice work.
My dad recently bought on of these RS7 and driving it is truly magnificent even in the passenger seats omgggg😍😍😍
Awesome car, especially love the paint and the rims. The RS7 will always have a special place in my heart
filming in broad daylight and generally not venturing too far into the city was a wise choice, lol.
That paintwork absolutely lovely. It looks like wrapped but may not and quality is sooo great
Wish the RS7 painted black.
I expected broken windows when I read "vs. San Francisco"
Human feces in the tread minimum.
Props to our to the editor and cameraman for being able to shoot this without any homeless people in any of the shots 👍
If you wanted to be included in the video, you should have told them in advance.

As someone who lives in San Francisco you guys really missed out on some amazing scenic twisty roads to film on and test the car. What’s sad is you guys were not too far away from them either but probably just didn’t know where to go.

Glad you guys made it out without any incidents...
For the steepest street, have you tried/experienced 22nd Street before Church Street?
We have some world class driving roads in the Bay Area. Shame Audi PR didn’t point Mat and Co. in the right direction.
Rs7 is on another level 🔥
Nice to see you here in Cali, Matt. I'm 1.5 hours north. Hope you had a good time. 👍

Mat thank you so much for this insane video!
What a good looking car it is and easily tuneable also, just absolutely stunning back 😚🇩🇪
I though you were going to test how long it would take until someone would smash the car window to steal your stuff, lol. Gotta love that SF quality of life.
San Francisco isn’t that bad. Especially in broad daylight.
I am with Matt, RS6 all day long. And a few tweaks to the ECU, and now you have an 800 plus BHP beast.
idk i like the body of the rs7 more im not a big fan of the station wagon look
Mat literally compared a whole city with a car ❤😂 only Mat could do this.
Used to be a nice tourist spot. Its a bit monkey dust and fentanyl now! The RS7 gives enough power to escape the madness.
From south africa. When I think of San Francisco all I think about is from the 80s hiv stds gays and fucking drugs
I was there just last week and you’re lucky to get such nice weather to test it in. when I was there, it was cloudy all day😭

Matt: "this is EPIC!"
Bay Area residents: "this is my daily commute..."

Absolutely love this car. One of my favourite Audis.
That is one gorgeous looking car and even more gorgeous looking set of production wheels ❤
if you skip forward for 10 seconds right when the intro says car, the next thing u hear is matt yelling wow 🤣
Absolutely great Car & technology!! Awesome design and custom choice with Audi exclusive. Only one precision the interior is not Alcantara material but another microfiber. You can find it in the configurator.
This video echoes "innovation". A new approach by Matt to reviewing cars, innovative takes such as the gradient tests, interior review while on the move and visiting popular places in San Francisco while doing so...pretty clever Carwow, retains your audience and keeps them captivated by your innovation 😊
That's a crazy car for sure 🔥🔥🔥🔥

I don't know about you all but that car especially in that colour looks damn amazing
Best looking 4-door car in my opinion
Nah but that backseat transition was too smooth
How much oil did it consume during the shooting of this video?>
Of all the car tests that CarWow has ever done, this was one of them.
Would have been good to see a brake comparison at 25mph,uphill, downhill and on the flat, just to see how gravity affects braking performance!
@carwow, FYI If you park in SF on a "hill street", you have to turn the front wheels to make an angle with the street. In case parking brake fails, the car will not "stampede" downhill but the front wheels will be blocked by walk path curb.
Is a panoramic roof an option?
05:30= An excellent/FANTASTIC test in which we can see how much resistance the new Audi has given the parameters:
= wheel/tire width
and
= weight of the car, which is increased due to the slope!!!
The aerodynamics of the car are fantastic!
I was surprised Mat successfully saved the beautiful RS7's windows in SF ......
People don’t just go around bashing random car windows in San Francisco in broad daylight lol.
9:18 wow, the legacy u clip desktop assistant, didn't expect to see that in this day and age.
This is gold and truly illustrates what it’s like to live with a sports car. This is why I’ve shifted a bit more towards 4x4s. At least in Colorado I can use my 4x4 to its full potential.
I think the RS7 is sexy Looking
If I had the money and was in the market for a sporty car it’d definitely be a contender
Absolutely gorgeous colour on that, and I love the blue brake calipers, but I strongly prefer the design of the last generation RS6 and RS7. The new ones just don't look that good to me.
editors are really doing well, animating the stats
Do they have anti needle tires?
Ahh San Francisco, one of the most abandoned cities in America.
Rs7 vs San Francisco... I thought you were going to test it's anti-theft capabilities
SF isn’t that treacherous lol. Especially in broad daylight.
I work in Financial district of sf and drive a wrx sti, not once has it ever been broken into in the 5 years ive been here. Fox news really got people living their lives in paranoia afraid to live their life, sad really
You should take that car or whatever car you are testing next over Mt Tam to Stinson Beach and make sure you drive the Ridge Road...Hope to see you up there!
PS It is one of the greatest driving roads in CA.
Dude. You were 30 miles from Napa, with great twsty roads. Who was your guide? You should have called me! Haha :)
If you're testing in San Francisco, make sure to check the breaking force of the windows as you'll inevitably get robbed. Also, how do the seats deal with fecal matter? Does it wipe right off or smear? Finally, one can steal up to $900 of merchandise from a store in San Francisco without any real repercussions. How much merchandise can I fit in the trunk?
San Francisco is a mess!! 😵💫
