Hi Lindsay, Eventually the grid and all the other techniques of drawing and painting will become second nature and instinctive. You will be able to look at any subject and confidently be able to draw it. Regarding "difficult" subjects just simplify them There are four basic shapes I'll make a lesson about that soon.
