Yeah, the company I work for has multiple Magento Stores, some dedicated to the US and others international. We built a custom tax and shipping system .. as a Magento Developer, I have some gray hair from stressful deployments and debugging sessions. I would agree it’s customizable but those UI Components and some of the inconsistencies in class and block references names can drive one up a wall or to drinking.. lol. It’s taken me years to mentally deal with a Magento Build and feel comfortable with deployment processes.
I thought customizability would fit and solve business problems but do not think it could cost so much time definitely not recommended for new business
