    Thanks for making a video on a topic i really need that for now. I also been laid off last month due to no magento projects available in the company. Now, I hardly find any job in the market except few. Have no idea on how long i have to wait.

      Yea me neither, but I already see inklings of the market turning around. I'm hoping you land something soon! 🤞

    Thanks for Video, well-needed motivation for Magento dev in this crucial time.

      Appreciate it Dharmesh. I think this situation is similar to seeing the stock market dip. As long as you just hang in there, you'll typically ride back up. If you sell at the bottom, it's almost always a regret.

    Top tip encouraging devs on soft skills this is a massive plus when I'm hiring for projects

    • @MarkShust
      @MarkShust  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Totally! I'd much rather hire a passionate developer who is nice and fits in with the team, rather than a great coder who has no soft skills and comes across as a know-it-all. No one wants to work with the latter, no matter how good of a coder they may be.

    Hey Mark,
    Kinda reaching here but I thought I'd ask.
    I went to System>Cache Management> additional cache
    And clicked the last flush cache that deletes static files. Not knowing so. Now the website doesn't load css and js files and when I got backend access I tried running bin/magento deploy command from their docs. But get an error saying Class DomDocument could not be found. Do you have any idea where I can go from here? What I should be looking for?

      Hi there, I don't answer tech questions here due to time restraints and etc., but I'd recommend Magento StackExchange. My University offering also has a community with a dedicated Magento tech guru on staff who could answer your question! You can check it out at m.academy/university/. Cheers -Mark

      You should be able to find a full stack trace in the logs located under /var/log. Either exception.log or system.log. DOMDocument is a native php class. Sounds like you might be missing the ext-dom extension for php but their could be several reasons for this exception. You need to have a developer look at your installation.

    Interesting. B2C models, heavily used by Magento, are reaching their roof. But there are still plenty of room in the use of Magento into B2B or B2G business models. But they are more complex to activate for random merchants.

    • @MarkShust
      @MarkShust  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think Adobe Commerce & Magento both lend themselves to more complex applications, because it's level of extensible can handle these more built-out situations. B2B in particular.

    Even if came a day in which Magento jobs are over, so many companies hire Magento developers, cause of their intelligence.

    • @MarkShust
      @MarkShust  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Agreed -- some of the brightest devs that I've ever met have worked with Magento. They'd definitely go to the top of my list, and not just because I'm biased, but because anyone who has the strength, persistence and grit to learn the framework would make a great programmer anywhere else.

    In general, taking advice on technology trend from a specific technology trainer is not very wise.

    • @MarkShust

      I’m not sure I’m following what you are saying. Care to elaborate, and explain what the better alternative would be? I would think listening to someone who is plugged into tech, and also teaches it, makes a lot of sense than taking advice from a passive follower.

    Some people are saying that Magento Front-End is dead, there are no prospectives unless supporting legacy projects. But that's an absolute lie. Magento 2 is still on the roll. Keep up!
