  • We all have a choice in life. A video similar to this took me from a chubby 16 year old with no confidence to the most outgoing and shredded I've ever been. The steps I shared at the end of the video are exactly what I followed to change my life.

Not quite. Depends on your goals. While caloric deficit is the only way to lose fat/weight in general and there are many ways to get there (eat less than maintenance/burn more through exercise/using metabolic increasing drugs/steroids etc) the truth is we all hold on to fat/burn fat in different ways. Weight and muscle mass isn’t the only factor that determines our caloric limit before gaining fat. Burning fat can be more difficult depending on if you’ve been fat before (more fat cells/fat cell memory), insulin resistance or sensitivity, genetics etc.
For me my body holds on to fat despite caloric restriction. If I add cardio though my body seems to have a way easier time to burn fat even if I don’t restrict calories.
With these factors in mind, how fat your are doesn’t quite determine pain sensitivity and if you want to gain muscle, depending on genetics some will put on a bunch fat while getting to their muscular potential, others will barely gain fat despite being in a huge surplus.
Also depending on your goals and although fat is mostly undesirable, it can provide benefit for leverages and strength for powerlifting and strength focused training with the added benefit of not worrying about going catabolic to be in great shape, allowing you to continuously gain muscle.
For me when I first started training I went from overweight no muscle to lean with some muscle. However when noob gains stopped even staying close maintenance calories, I ended up slowly getting fat again but now I have a bunch of muscle. If you saw my back and triceps shirtless you’d think I’m absolutely huge and shredded. If you saw my delts in a shirt you’d think I’m on steroids but then you see the front of my body shirtless you think “wtf this guy is fat, he’s got a bunch of muscle but his physique is so weird” lol. Truth is I never did a proper cut so I’ve just been continuously training while getting big, muscular and FAT xD
My genetics make it so I can gain both muscle and fat without trying as long as I get enough protein, eat around maintenance and train. It’s both a blessing and a curse.
