This is really helpful! TY! "Alexandra really likes the big black Kongs" 🤔🤣 I enjoy your silly moments so much. You bring such a pure joy to elite dog training.
I have a malinois, german shep, chow, lab mix. I wanted to say how much I respect you, and the work you are doing with this incredible breed. The world needs more people like you.
I love seeing your longform content. Your personality and your dogs are so cool. Id love to see you review more dog products! Treats, toys, brushes, etc.
The Chuckit brand seems to hold up well to my Mal. Most things are lucky to last a week, He'd of had all the fluff out of that toy in a few minutes. Its funny to watch , he makes a hole and pulls a mouthful of fluff , puts it next to him until he has a big pile and a destuffed toy. Loves catnip too , acts like a cat with it. Great video as always.
My mal mix loves godog squeakies (she de-squeaks them quickly and is trained to bring me any bits she gets off rather than eating anything) especially for catching them midair when thrown. Chew-wise, we keep benebone wishbones around. She likes antlers too but prefers the softer ones that she can slowly work down to nubs. And we really love red barn brand stuffed bones (some destruction at the ends happens on the softer ones but we haven't had any big/sharp pieces break off and they help keep her teeth clean. Her absolute favorite though is the unicool squeaky ball from amazon - the squeak only lasts a few minutes in the human hearing range and then it goes ultrasonic (thank g-d) but she loves to run through the house constantly squeaking it. I suspect if she really wanted to kill it, it wouldn't last, but she enjoys the sound so much that she babies it.
Thank you! I have a Black Mouth Cur that can shred anything. His particular breed can hunt bear and wild boar, herd cattle, protect their bonded families, and so on. We do bite and release play using toys but nothing intense, just enough to make sure fingers are spared from any accidental bites.
I got my german shepherd working dog one of those tough fabric tubes, mines called a "bumper" its a very old design for police and fire dogs, it lasts me about a month, he likes chewing it and its pretty versatile as well, it also doesnt get super gross unlike most fabirc toys. It breaks down in such a way that its safe for him, it has no cotton or any crap like that in it, only issue is it can be tough for him to get a solid grip on it so he doesn't like to tug with it
My old Malinois also loved ripping open plushies and removing the filling. Didn’t eat the filling or anything and was very focussed on tearing the seam apart. She didn’t care for any other toys unless it contained food. 😅
I had that dragon toy for my GSD. I had to trim the tags down but it actually lasted a while. Then we got a GSD/husky mix who is an expert at shredding soft toys and it was gone in 5 minutes.
My GSD treats soft toys like the dragon one very delicately and they can last a while. My GSD mix that we adopted so I’m not sure what else he is will shred those soft stuffed toys up in 5 mintues also. He will eat the parts that he chews off. He only gets the bark box super chewer toys and like really good hard rubber toys. The thin soft rubber ones he will tear apart.
I agree. I haven’t had stuffies for years. My Doberman is a hard chewer and his hound buddies are, too, even my 13# pocket Beagle. We’ve been trying Benebones, but they tend to shred. Going back to Gonuts. We don’t do bite work, but I enjoy your videos.
Tuffy is a brand I use that I get from Petsmart. They are expensive from $20 to $30, but they last for over a month typically. But with that said, different breeds, different dogs and their bite force would be the biggest factor Side note, I have a 8 month belgian malinois and she is gorgeous
I have a working shepherd, and finding toys for him can be tough. I knew I was going to have an issue when he bit straight through a brand new Chuckit ball.
Great points, on occasion I buy cheap fluffy toys, our German shepherd mix loves to tear them apart immediately in a very specific way- finds a weak spot, pulls the threads, digs out the squeak box, and finally rips out all the stuffing.
Thank you! The kong black kong has been the best purchase; I won't be replacing the red one which is starting to fray at the end from his chewing. Push toys last about 1.5 seconds here haha
This is very interesting to watch! My 2 years old Mali, Maple, never was into chewing toys! Bully sticks, yes! she loves those! But I tried rubber, plush, mix of fabric and plastic, kongs, and nothing really stuck. Bully sticks and antlers seem to be her preference, lol Great vid!!
This was fantastic to watch! Thank you. Great singing voice and I love the meditation and going with the flow of the chew. My GSD loves to chew and his ears relax. Love your videos. Thank you
I am very interested in your approach to dog training. I love a good all around companion. I'ver raised 3 dogs, all 3 were successes. But I never want to quit learning how to be a more knowledgeable owner. My first dog and I were soul mates. I was sick once and unsolicited she brought her dog kibble and placed it by my pillow so that I could eat. She went everywhere with me, off leash whenever possible. Sheba, was a GSP. She saved my life twice! My best friend for 14 years! Pictured is Sweat Pea, same breed, now 15. What a great friend!
I am in the same boat to try and find chew toys. 1st one. He took a whole 5 minutes. He was going easy. 2nd. Mine will focus on squeaker and go after it. 3rd. Kongs are O.K. I find that stuffing raw bones with wet dog food and freezing them works just as well. Then I can reuse the bones. Hope you will keep doing more chew toys videos. It’s a needle in a haystack with Mal owners. 😊
Miss Thang thinks exactly what all my dogs have always thought of plushies. They love them because they can scatter polyfill all over the house and make a giant mess once they've ripped them apart. Of course, my dogs have always been labs or other retrievers, so uber chewing instincts. One dog enjoyed playing with his plushies rather than destroying it. That was it, just the one. My current pup is 16 months and is the champion of all chewers of all my dogs. She only gets kongs and the strongest nylabones. Edit: 16 months, not 6. Still 6 months mentally, like most young retrievers.
My male belgian malinois is 2 yrs old and still has his stuffed bear I bought him when he was 4 months. He chewed off the ears and tail but has kept him whole it's his favorite of all. Soo adorable. Other stuffies he has destroyed, but his bear he has loved.
my Rotties heard the squeak & got so excited. GoDog (possibly the brand) used to have a pterodactyl that my Rotties would share gently running around the house with a wing in each mouth. They loved the squeak (sound of an animal going to heaven?🤷🏻♀️) but if one was chewing on it alone she would take it and try to shove part of it (we called him pterry) into her sister’s mouth to tease play time. Since pterry, the brand has went downhill. The other brands that literally have Rotties on their labels have been disappointing. The brands made with layers& “ballistic nylon”, their downfall has always been shoddy seams. Thanks for the video!
Finding toys for Rotties is really really hard!!! My heathens usually destroyed everything in one play session. Except my female. She was “gifted” a lime green Beanie Baby by a neighbor child from a Mc D’s happy meal. She never, ever destroyed that thing. And could find it no matter where I hid it.
My border collie pulls a plushy toy apart in 20 seconds, removes the squeaker and walks around with only the squeaker in her mouth and drives us nuts 😂 SHE KNOWS
what good looking dogs you can tell they lover you and all so love what they do if it working playing or just spending time with you keep up the good work on you tube
My Aussie Shepherd LOVES balls and LOVES to chew. He’s gone through everything we’ve given him including all the Kongs (and I’ve bought A LOT of toys in the last two and a half years 😅) except for the Chew King Fetch Balls. These balls are rubber with a hole on each side (no good in the water, for obvious reasons that did not occur to me the first time I threw one into the creek out of muscle memory 😆). He hasn’t made a dent on any of them! The only reason I have to buy more is because my kids keep throwing them over the fence or my dog loses them in the bush when he gets distracted. They are also brightly coloured - a purple ball is MUCH easier to spot than green balls - what’s up with pet gear makers that make *green* balls!? I’m not affiliated whatsoever, just LOVE the Chew King balls. They also make great ball launchers for their balls. Highly recommended!
Always, the tag goes first, my boy is a Choc Lab, but I’ve trained him not to tear up his plush toys and I’ve named them, and he knows the difference in their names and toys. Big stuff for us, little for you guys. I’m not sure if this will work for you, but Robert Cabral had a great video on putting yogurt in a Kong with some blueberries and freeze them, so they really have to work for the treat. It does take a little to get those xxl Kong’s at $30 bucks a pop. Good Luck and have fun.
My dog (Schnauzer) loves to chew on a liece of deer antlers. Its a 5 inch long stick...made from antlers. A pet store owner in Italy suggested this, and I bought it unconvinced (and a bit grossed out). It turns out my Schnauzer loves it -even after 2 years. The antler stick has remained intact, he loves trying to get to the inside, porous part of the antler. Have you tried antlers before? Last but not least, I live your videos...(I git here warching back from your current videos showing Alexandra's 4week okd puppies ❤❤) You do such a great job! Thank you for taking us along.
What other brands are good? My lab mix & pit mix are heavy chewers. Kong I knew about. We also do marrow bones and sometimes I'll fill with banana or pumpkin and freeze for a fun treat. Friends gave them each a deer antler. Will also do rope tugs but I watch carefully as the pit doesn't just rip up, she literally eats it's it and anything cloth she gets her teeth on (she's still a puppy).
My Female Corgi is all about destroying her toys. I have never seen a dog her size so dedicated to the task. She has a very active mind and enjoys finding the weak spot of any toy I give her.
Lovely video, been having a heck of a time finding a toy my big GSD boy won't destroy. He has the large red and xtra large black Kong but I do want to find something else for him.
I’m trying to train my cane corso and would like to train my puppy just like your dog can you make a detailed video on how you trained your dog? It’s super obedient!!
He has some really good ones already up on the page. Good food drive is a big one so like treat training. I have found it’s not the dog the dog any dog is easily trained it’s the human you need to have discipline you need to have fortitude and not give up, be the Alpha and and remember every situation is a training opportunity.

Theres a blue kong that is also super durable but if its chewed and eaten it specifically shows up in x-rays its reflective or something its built for super heavy chewers that could consume things.
I love this channel, im the owner for malinois doing french ring because of you, im from spain but i will love to train me and my dog with you :) btw my dog destroys the starmark ball, it last 2-3weeks until the rope go through the ball :(
What are the yellow and blue balls that you use for training? I need something like that for my Mal. She likes to always have a toy with her, but she just destroys everything obviously...
What about goat horns? The dogs saliva breaks the keratin down so it's quite soft and safe for them. I only avoid the stuffed ones as my GSDs get really intense and crack them to get the marrow.

Depending on how smart your dog is, they'll soon figure out that they aren't supposed to destroy the soft toys. (Maybe that won't work for powerful Malinois, but it has worked for all my herders.)
My big dog loves plush toys the best, yeah you really need to keep a eye on the stuffing being pulled out, so once it's ripped open I pull the stuffing out and she will carry it around for hours...
her face when the toy squeaked had me rolling. she is such a well behaved good girl
Please do more reviews with toys you like best!

It’s always the tag first🤣
Great show at the end😂😂👍
