  • So I have heard someone commented on a video of a carbonara - “oh, Cacio e pepe with bacon” and got me all confused.
Carbonara (literally: charcoal burners' spaghetti in Italian) is an Italian pasta dish based on eggs, pecorino romano, guanciale and black pepper. It was created in the middle of the 20th century.
Cacio e Pepe \cah-cho-eh-pehpeh\ is a pasta dish that originated in Rome and literally means “cheese and pepper”.
So there you go, just a little info.
    Hope you enjoyed!
