In the first clip, does R have to decline the penalty to keep the ball at the succeeding spot? With a foul by K before the end of the kick, can R just add the yardage to the succeeding spot?
Yes. The key is knowing the situation and explaining it to the coach. Let's say this occurred in the 4th with 45 seconds remaining, Score: K24 R20. R could take enforcement from the end of return (Rule 10-4 Exceptions) which is the 15 in this video. We would enforce half the distance, R's ball 1st and goal at the 7.5. If it is early in the game, R would most likely take the points. The key to remember, R has options in this situation with a foul by K prior to the end of the kick.
These training videos are so good, I let the ads run. Thanks for all you do, cheers from Virginia!

24:08ish defense pass interference? Sure looks like it.
This is not pass interference. The contact is simultaneous with the ball arriving.

@@matthewshipton4976 that’s what I was thinking. Just wanted to make sure the illegal batting didn’t end the kick. Thanks.
Matt explained it a lot more eloquently than I could have. Thanks for the question and thanks to Matt for the explanation.
@@WPIALFootballOfficials thank you for the work on these plays. It is very helpful and evokes great discussion amongst our crews here in KY.
need to see the action before, during, after, and result if you are going to fish in someone else's pond.
