I just saw a live video clip of this song posted on Twitter from the Mohegan Sun concert tonight. I think I love it even more live. Scott plays the piano, and they all sound so good!
They took a classic Christmas and made it into dramatic soundtrack. The violin and cello were like festive candy, Kirstins braid flip was sassy attitude but Scotts dramatic interjections was just THE BEST and gave that unexpected level of wow!!

Scott seems somebody from the winter court, Lindsey looks like summer goddess Brigid, Matt is autumn king, Kevin is spring, Kirstin looks like Morrigan to me, the underworld goddess, and Mitch is sky god, maybe Lugh. I loved the video so much, so epic! And my inner fantasy nerd is so happy )

The violin and cello are truly magical here, and matt just fills out the sound perfectly with that rich bass

This song was just epic at the concert in Portland last night. Unfortunately no Lindsey, but Kevin was on fire - just absolutely masterful. Sheer excellence. The drumming by Matt was so dramatic. One of my favorite performances of the concert. Really, who thinks of making this kind of arrangement for Over the River? It's just brilliant. The level of excellence of all members of PTX just doesn't seem possible ... but I'm grateful!
i was supposed to see them in concert two days ago, but there was a mandatory rehearsal for my school musical that day, so i had to miss it :(

I had tickets for them for their EU tour last summer but Covid happened. It has been set to February 2022 but I think it will be canceled as well because of the new mutation. I'm so sad.

after seeing their song making process it makes me see their music in a whole different light. i can hear all of the emotion and effort they put into their music. they don't just make music anymore, they're making stories.
OMG!! Love love the collaborations with Lindsey!! They are always fabulous, but I have LOVED this song since the album came out and could not wait for a video to be released. Wow, such a simple song yet it was turned into such an amazing cinematic piece. Kind of strong presence of family and togetherness and kind of the feeling of what it’s like to have the anticipation of seeing your loved ones when you travel for the holidays. I don’t travel to see my grandparents anymore because I live with them and most of my extended family now, but I still go back to my home town to see my girlfriend and my friends every Christmas so it kind of made me think of that.
I heard this for the first time and I was so blown away!! The slow motions and the beginning this song is everything! This song brightens my mood when I feel upset!! 💖

Same. I never was a huge fan of christmas. Was always a horrible time for me. Then I decided to make my own. I made my own traditions all by myself like movies, food, decor and music. Every Christmas time I listen to pentatonix and now I love christmas. Sometimes we have to do things for ourselves solo. Totally up to you :) I hope you have a wonderful new year :)
