Following the channel for many months. Kept accumulating Amazon balance and today... I installed the Viofo A229 Pro dual channel. It's costly but quality wise it's top of the lot. Two months back, had a bad experience wrt insurance claim from the insurance company and from the ASC/showroom which sold me the policy. A good dashcam is a must for cars in big cities. Rather the need nowadays is to make a 360 degree camera as a compulsory feature of a car similar to the airbags.
Good choice 👍🏻. Most people have bad experience with insurance claims. Hence it be becomes very important to safeguard our interests by collecting valuable video evidence. All the best 👍🏻
@@venkatraman7511 Not true. It's their tactic to extract more money from the customer. You are a customer of Insurance provider/s too and it's mandatory for both of them to provide service to you. The only thing to ensure is cashless settlement is available for the service centre. While well known private brands will have it for most of the Authorised service centres(ASC), govt. owned providers most likely won't. So you need to pay ASC first while 'you' do 'all' the communication(hassles 😔) regarding estimate and final bill etc. in a timely manner with govt. owned insurance providers and get it reimbursed.
Nice video brother.. I wish one dashcam should come with starvis 2 + dual cam (native 3k or 4k) + Super capacitor+ ADAS + emmc storage + all other basic features under 12k + a bit compact..
Hi Travel Tech, I have few queries: 1. Can I use parking monitor using back camera only (like A229 Plus 2CH), if I park the vehicle front facing wall. Or, parking monitor is only available with front camera, other is option to choose which camera can be used for parking monitoring. 2. Can I use power bank to power the camera all the time or during parking monitor, if I do not wanted to go with hardwiring 3. Which dash camera app can be installed on the car android system and allow to see live view/feed from these cameras (like VIOFO you showed in one of your video) 4. VIOFO Mini 2K dashcam allowed to shoot at 1440p/60fps, is 60fps better than 4k/30fps or 4k/25fps in terms of blurring issues, as 60fps should give better blur free video than 30/24fps, what if your experience. Hope you would answer these.
1. No specific option to choose camera for parking mode. It will work with all cameras connected. Alternative option is to disconnect the rear camera manually. Then it will work only with front camera, but I wouldn't recommend this 2. Power bank can run the dashcam, but won't work for parking mode. If the power bank is connected to the dashcam and always powering it up, then how should the dashcam recognise that car is parked or moving? In the hardwiring kit, there is a specific ACC and VCC signals that the dashcam detects to activate parking mode and normal recording mode 3. I've tried 70mai app and VIOFO app. But mostly all other apps will work, if you have an Android based system. Since Android car systems get a playstore, in theory, all dashcam apps supported by Android should work in the car system as well. 4. Is 1440p@60fps better than 4K@30fos? The answer depends on your 'use case scenario'. My personal experience is that in terms of dashcam video to be used as evidence for insurance claims or legal cases, a higher resolution video will be more helpful than one with a higher frame rate, mainly because in higher resolution videos like 4K, it becomes easy to identify critical aspects such as number plates and signboards etc. A higher frame rate video will be more helpful if you make travel videos using dashcam footage. A higher frame rate allows flexible editing of the video and slowing down of video without stuttering. So if dashcam videos are used for vlogs or any other social media purposes along with regular usage as a dashcamera, a higher frame rate video would be my recommendation.

No doubt 70Mai is the best value in most cases. Hi, Thanks for your informative videos. I have come across articles stating that Super Capacitor based Dashcams are better suited for our extreme hot conditions than the battery based ones. I have almost finalised 70mai A510 for its Starvis 2 but it is having battery and not the super capacitor. While the dash cams like Redtiger and DDPAI do offer super capacitor but not sure about the presence of Starvis 2 in them. Could you please share your views? Thanks!
Hello. In theory, super capacitors are better. But in practical terms, there is no difference. Dashcams with battery are being sold from many years, but I still haven't come across any article or news which said that any particular dashcam blew up or burnt out. Also, batteries in dashcams are much smaller compared to smartphones. Additionally, dashcams with battery don't run on battery (yes!). They run on the regular 12v dc power of the car. The battery is only to maintain time and other minor functions. So to summarise, when you look at it broadly, you may feel that super capacitor based dashcams may be better (in theory), but when you look closer (practically), there's no major issue with battery based dashcams.

Yes, the A229 Plus is the next best option (after A229 Pro). If you have the budget, go with A229 Plus. Between A810 and F17, you should choose based on your requirement. F17 has the advantage of being cheaper and also provides an additional cabin camera. A810 has the advantage of native 4K backed by Starvis 2 sensor. @@traveltechyoutube Thank you for your quick reply! I have a follow up question, is it worth adding CPL filter to A229 plus? I was referring to your video on comparison between A229 plus and pro, where this filter made a good difference.
Sir do i need to disconnect the dash cam in parking mode when parking for weeks or months at home ? What about battery life if i keep dash cam ON for weeks ? In safe parking area?
Parking mode works only with hardwiring kit. Most hardwire kits get a built in battery voltage protection feature. So if you've left your car parked for long duration and in parking mode, the hardwire kit will automatically cut off power to the dashcam once the pre set voltage (usually 11.8 or 12V) is reached. Hence the dashcam will stop recording and battery won't drain out completely.
I recommend only those dashcams which I have tried out personally. I have tried contacting Wolfbox for their dashcams multiple times. They haven't responded. I would be more than happy to review the i07 and G840H if they send it to me.
What is advantage of purchasing hardware kit . If i will install without hardware kit which features will not available . I am finalasing Vanture N 5 4 chh
Advantage is you can monitor your car when it is parked and turned off. The dashcam records video of nearby activity hence providing you evidence if someone damages your car or bumps into your car. Hello, first I recommend you watch this video: th-cam.com/video/XEPeijhTyHA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=IzccLZA5awU2Q6ja Now if you have finished watching it, you should know that nowadays, there are OBD2 hardwiring kits available which are easy to install and remove. You have to contact their service centre via WhatsApp and ask them to send you the OBD2 kit for 70mai A510.
A800s is older model which has been updated to A810. Since you haven't considered A810 and looking towards A510, it definitely is a better choice in every aspect such as: 1. Price is lesser. 2. Starvis 2 sensor 3. Near 4K quality. 4. Latest model 5. Type c port. 6. Accessories available.

For best parking monitoring features, around 25K budget, you should get VIOFO A229 Plus Dual channel dashcam. It's got dual Starvis 2 sensors and one of the best parking modes available in any dashcam. ADAS features in dashcams are highly overrated. Not worth the money.
I am trying to find out a dashcam which can support 2 front cameras. I want to place an additional camera near the front grill for parking assist. My vehicle doesn't have 360 degree camera. Any suggestions?
Any camera placed outside the car has to be water proof and dust proof. I would recommend using a regular dual channel mirror dashcam, wherein instead of using the secondary camera for the rear, you can install it at the front. This will serve the purpose of providing you video from the front of the car right on the large display. You should check the 70mai S500: amzn.to/3SXEptr

hi, what is the inbulid battery type in 70mai A810 & Viofo A229 pro? is there any issues in the battery in High heat condition like summers in north india? can you pls help.
It does seem to offer an upscaled resolution. Based on features shown and the price, seems good for value. I haven't tried this dashcam personally, hence can't give an honest opinion.
Still under confusion.. Want to buy 70mai S500 mirror dashcam.. But not happy with the external fitment of rear camera that comes with it... Is there any other option available (camera thats sticks inside the rear door of the car)
You can install inside the car, but it will require some extra effort. You will have to align the camera so that it focuses properly towards the back. Also, installing it inside will cause reflection due to rear windshield and give glare.
I want to buy a dash cam, but I don't know which one I'm going to buy. It doesn't matter to me if it's expensive. The front and rear cameras are most important to me.

But overall best option would be A229 Plus.

Thanks for the informative video. Is there any 3 channel dashcam under 20K that comes with Starvis 2 sensor? I saw your redtiger f17 review video and kind of like it but it lacks starvis 2 sensor. Looking at your reviews, it kind of feels that we should be having a dashcam with starvis2.

Hello, first I recommend you watch this video: th-cam.com/video/XEPeijhTyHA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=IzccLZA5awU2Q6ja
Now if you have finished watching it, you should know that nowadays, there are OBD2 hardwiring kits available which are easy to install and remove. So I would recommend going with an OBD2 kit.
Thirdly, 70mai doesn't sell OBD2 kits officially yet. But they are available with Nexdigitron. You have to contact their service centre via WhatsApp and ask them to send you the OBD2 kit for 70mai A510.

Hi, I'm torn between A510s and A800s. Which one do you suggest?
A510
@@traveltechyoutube Just because of STARVIS 2? Or I'm missing some other point?
A800s is older model which has been updated to A810. Since you haven't considered A810 and looking towards A510, it definitely is a better choice in every aspect such as:
1. Price is lesser.
2. Starvis 2 sensor
3. Near 4K quality.
4. Latest model

Also, installing it inside will cause reflection due to rear windshield and give glare.
