Very nice. You did great! I make those pens, too but I use 550 Paracord. Pick a matching length of cord. Gut the cord, then slide it over the pen barrel.

I know this video is months old but wanted to comment that you could use sandpaper to sand off the cover edges to get rid of paper overhang & give it a finished look. I do this with all my diy covered notebooks. Love the pen idea-never thought of that! Thank you for sharing. 😊

It was simple elastic, you can get pretty elastic at other places, just used what I had available! Have a most enjoyable day today!!

Omgosh I absolutely love this and it really isn't bad! It would be cute to put a little butterfly charm on the elastic that holds the pen! I think I'm going to do this with my 3 oldest granddaughters! You are so creative! Oh you said something about different colored elastic being expensive, well do you think you could put food coloring in water and soak the elastic in it for whatever color you want? Good morning!! Not a problem!!! I should have been a little more clear, sorry that's my fault! I keep a spray bottle of water that has a super fine mist spray handy for projects... I actually got it at dollar tree... They are in a three pack, small little bottles with pump tops .... Have a most enjoyable day!
