it is a nice car, I own one and its not terrible on maintenance. His aftermarkets are nice but I prefer them untouched. Aside from the tint addition these things come ready to cruise not race...
I owned a 2016 and we loved it. We traded it in for a Giulia QF which my wife likes significantly less. Was it as objectively good as a similar year/optioned 5-Series, E-Class, or other mid-sized executive sports sedan? Probably not, but it was quick, reliable for us because we were meticulous about maintenance, and it was quirky. The AWD [Q4] system that Stellantis uses for Alfa Romeo and Maserati is excellent, it mostly drives with a RWD bias so they're still fun to drive, but if you're really pushing it the AWD system provides stupid amounts of grip. We went through a few sets of tires a year. The Ghibli doesn't warrant the hate it gets, as car enthusiasts we should be happy weird cars like this still exist. We'll end up getting another Maser at some point down the road.
Amazing review Joe. Absolutely absolutely love the Ghibli. I love this cars design. Especially the 2019 Maserati Ghibli sq4 gransport!!!😎😁😁😁😁😁😁. Thanks Joe.
I swear, next time when someone will mention the "Chrysler switches" BS, will get a virtual punch in the face through the monitor from me, they'll have stories to tell their grandchildren. They are not Chrysler switches, they are Mercedes switches. Back in the Daimler-Chrysler days, those switches were used in ML63AMG and GL63AMG. Since then, Chrysler took them, stripped them down, created a cheap version they use in their current cars. Also Maserati took the exact same Mercedes switches, added metal inserts, LED illumination, soft coating touch, color coded them to the leather interior, and started using them in their products. Compared to what Ferrari and Maserati were using before, this switches are great because they are reliable. They also don't have anything in common with what you find in Chrysler products but the overall shape.
so basically maserati uses the swtich from mercedes that are 15 years old? thanks for letting me know this car is more outdated than i thought it would be
Based on experience? I have 2014 Q4 and never met a Maserati Tech. I do all my maintenance. 60,000 miles had misfire at 38,000 and replaced the plugs and never had a problem since. Again, your comment is based on first hand experience? I bet not.
Nice car, and great presentation, Joe. I've seen these particular Maserati's on the internet for sale, and I've often wondered why they lose their resale value so quickly. A 4 or 5 year old Ghibli are very reasonably priced in the used car market. Makes me wonder why? Is something wrong, or is there a flaw in the design of the vehicle? Perhaps its the cost to maintain the car, being an Italian sports car and all. I learned my lesson well when a BMW Z-4 I owned needed a water pump replaced. It cost roughly about 3 times as much as replacing the same for a Ford or Chevy. It won't happen again!
It was actually Maserati. The first Maserati road car, the 1947 A6 had the iconic three fender vents. The Buick portholes were first installed on the 1949 models, and they were four at the time.
Arty Eet You are correct. Further research shows that mid 1930’s Lasalle automobiles (manufactured and marketed by General Motors) had them also. So let’s just leave it at that. ✌🏻🇺🇸
Its a head-turner. No BMs or Benzos get this much attention, I have 2015 white with black wheels, red calipers - looks amazing. Negatives? NOBODY cannot change an oil for me. They just dont know how to...Just one guy in whole South Bay Area does it for me (besides dealer. F them))
Let's be honest here, with depreciation these cars end up in the hands of people that, well, let's say "freestyle" a bit. I understand everyone has their own tastes but between these and Infiniti cars, the word "gawdy" comes up more than once. Wait till you see these cars in another 5 years, meanwhile the maintenance is usually never done because people bought an exotic on a shoe string budget but the maintenance ISN'T ahoe string budget!
So much truth in what you say. You shouldn't buy an used exotic (I'm not talking specifically about Maserati, I'm talking in general) unless you can afford to buy it new, because maintenance and spare parts don't suffer from depreciation.
I mean rn you can get one for like 25 k with like 40 k twin turbo that hits 0-60 on 4.8 or so that sound it makes and if course a brand that you don't see on a driveway everyday I don't see it overpriced at 25 k at all
did you have bad luck with yours? A few of the early ghiblies had some issues..which were improved every year...buying first few years of any cars production is risky at best..
Funny how y’all tripping over a fucking touch screen and window controls that Mercedes STILL uses but covers it with metal (in some cars) . Still tho same controls. My Chrysler 200 doesn’t have this leather quality, or this engine , suspension, sound. NOTHING. this is a MASERATI with a few Chrysler parts. You never touch headlight controls with auto headlights these days , and a start button???? Are y’all not a bunch of fucking cry babies!? GET - OVER - IT. Y’all want a Lexus infotainment system ? Alfa Romeo’s?? I think Uconnect was a GREAT option and if I was running chrysler it would stay for the life of my time there. Because it’s the best infotainment we all know that.

Beautiful car but a bottomless money pit. I learned my lesson about Italian cars years ago, better to stick with American or Japanese cars, European cars aren't worth the money, heartache and financial suffering.
Maserati is trash. Chrysler electronics, switch gear that will break and feel cheap. Looks good and the price is great but that’s because it’s really expensive to fix. Would make a nice lawn ornament
I've always admired the Italian exotics, but you should never present a car like this without taking your audience along on a drive. The looks and the engine note don't tell the whole story of any car. I'll pass on any future reviews that don't include a drive.
Well get ready to pass on some reviews because I am not able to drive them all. One think to point out is on Raiti's Rides there are many facets to a review.
