Be wary about doing the gauze filter as the bottom plate is cast and very very easy to break trying to pry it off do that and your in a whole world of pain besides it only has to be done every 12,000 Klm better to have the Ducati dealer do it whilst they do the belts and timing etc peace of mind stuff. You may want to mention taking the filler plug out so the oil drains faster. My V4 Duke takes 2 hours to drain down before rechecking the level as recommended by Ducati themselves I know this because I helped do the 1000klm first service on it today, those fairings you need to be an contortionist octopus to refit! Good vid bloke hopefully you still have your 848 I am changing the oil in my 2009 848 shortly.
how much costs per year maintain for this bike ? without oil and filter how did you find it riding in rain ? the bike have some problems in rain ? like problems with switches , oi noize like switches works or speedo errors ? what problems did you see in rain ? thanks
Eternal Summer cost of maintenance per year is all relative to how much you ride the bike. If you’re putting on a lot of miles every year, it’s going to cost you more because you’ll be doing maintenance more often. Also depends if you do the work yourself or taking it to a shop. And I never, ever, ride my bike in the rain. I have a car, so I drive the car in poor weather. Check out this video of the 7500 mile service I had done; should give you an idea on how much the maintenance is. th-cam.com/video/BuzOPHmX1Xc/w-d-xo.html
Eternal Summer well, like I said before, I never ride in the rain so I couldn’t tell you. And is that 5000 kilometers or miles? Because there’s a big difference.
Eternal Summer okay. Well the video I posted in my above comments breaks down the 7500 mile service and how much it cost. So look at that, and that’ll give you an idea on how much it’ll cost.
True. It was a little hard to work with the camera and to crack open the quart of oil to lube the filter. Since the oil isn't going back into the bike (just the edge of the filter), it won't hurt it to use the old stuff.
it would be great if you'll show us how did you put the oil!
Bogdan Panici if you need me to show you how to pour oil, you shouldn’t be doing your own oil change.
Thanks bro im going to do the next wekeend because I not have the filter but thanks to you I know what I need to do. 🔥🔥
christian ace happy I could help! Best of luck and don’t over tighten the drain plug!!
So glad i watched this video. Didn't know about the crush filter. Thanks
Devils 13 Rodrigues glad you found it useful! Ride safe!
These bikes have an in-line filter also. You have to remove that bottom panel. Clean the screen and new gasket and then reseal it.
Mike LeBrun you’re correct. At the time, I did not know this.
They do but it doesn't need to be changed as often as the oil. Maybe every 2 or so changes.
@kingspencer7 if you don't know this, you have no business changing your own oil.

0470moo thanks! And yep, still have her!
Why do they say don’t crush the seal. Ducati dealership told me not to do my own oil change.
Buen día amigo! Que marca es tu caballete? y me podrías brindar las medidas para fabricarme uno?
Thanks for making this video
No problem! I hope you found it useful!
Mr Spencer king what’s the number of the filter that we need to replace the old one
You got the phone holder model?... Thanks in advance!. Texas.
fangorojo it’s a ram mount. You can get it off amazon. They also sell them at most bike shops.
Any reason why you didn’t prime the new oil filter?
Nope. I usually don’t in any of my vehicles, although I know it’s a good idea to.
Hey quick question do you get Serv go on your dash for a few seconds then dissappear with your bike??
Oko's adventures I do not.

Gary Huggins they did a great job with the 7500 service. Was very pleased.
You missed the most important part u didn't show from where I gon put the damn oil
Pour it in the refill cap located om top of the fuel tank.
Use the new oil to lube the filter

Buy yourself a $10 tripod ! :-)
MrToonfish shot with an iPhone. Pretty sure it gets the information across. That was the goal.
@@kingspencer7 There are cheap iPhone tripods / stands too... Then you'll discover the pleasure of working with 2 hands. Nice 848 EVO BTW ;-)
