The AI narration on this video is awful I'm afraid. The pronunciation is all over the place and some of the sentences make little sense. The overall tone of the narration seems wrong for a historical documentary.
From this animation of the stages of the Cataclysm, it suggests that if this theory of a 'Land Lava Flow' were correct instead of the traditional 'Magma Explosion', then one should expect to see Akrotiri covered in magma flows, rather than the many meters of volcanic ash that we find.
That's a very interesting objection. However, my very inaccurate animation with Bryce / ParticleIllusion naturally does not reflect the correct sequence of the cataclysm. And the eruption was quite far to the north of the island, perhaps the pyroclastic flows did not reach Akrotiri. But perhaps the interior of the caldera only became dry land after seawater had entered the volcanic vent in a previous phase of the eruption. After the cataclysm, however, the interior of the caldera must have been dry land, otherwise there would not be these special sedimentary structures on the sea bed between Oia and Thirasia.
Therans were Minoans and an important class of the Minoan federation, they abandoned their island long before the demise of civilization in Crete, they did influence Crete culturally had roots in Chaldea and the Hindus valley
Well, tastes are different. I think the baroque music goes very well with the flotilla fresco. The fresco has something ostentatious about it, like baroque music...
This is a fascinating reassessment of the Santorini volcanoes. Beside the type of monkeys on the frescoes, there are many other indications of trade relations between the Minoan-Cycladic and the Indus Valley civilizations: th-cam.com/video/pW5mbJL4Xyo/w-d-xo.html
Ok, interesting content presented, but horrible ai narration and poorly chosen music (especially the British(?) sounding fanfair). It was a horrible documentary to hear, wish you would have recorded a voice instead, and used less distracting music at least… I work alongside people who have worked with ai voice, and it’s just not a good, viable option for long bits of narration at this time.
The fanfare (M.A.Charpentier - Marche de Triomphe) is most certainly neither French nor English but baroque. One of the great European “koine” cultural epocs.
@@hthvideography awesome thanks for the answer, it's nice you're good at replying. sorry to say but it doesn't change the fact that it doesn't fit at all.... i just wished and agreed with others that better audio choices could be substituted, such as for the voice (real voices) and more background style (calmer?) music
Watch your mouth, when you stare about what the greek state is doing about the ancient place and it’s maintenance. If you don’t know something, just say nothing. The place was discovered, excavated, etc, entirely by the greek state, with no foreigner intervening neither by work nor by financing it. Consider a privelage that you’re allowed to visit the site, and appreciate it.
I can have my opinion and you can have yours, but I think civil behaviour would be helpful. The fact that Kasperski has supported the excavations in Akrotiri since 2016 can be read in various official Greek sources and internet sites. This is also written on plaques at the excavation site. The excellent video about the West House, which he financed, is also shown there. (This support had to be discontinued since Russia invaded Ukraine.)
I thought this was about the Volcano but I'm already bored first five min. Plus it's an A.I. Voice. I think it's great to learn about the culture but a documentary about a cataclysm should be about that. But it's turning out to be a boring as hell video.
I am sick and tired of TH-camr made Documentaries. I want a real documentary on this dam subject! I have to dig through all this youtuber made crap of people who have bad accents or use AI Voice or spend 20 min not even getting to the point. Get to the freekin Volcano! that is why I clicked on this for! TH-camr made Documentaries ARE NOT DOCUMENTARIES! I want to see the real documentaries not this garbage!
Their obsession with religion is pathetic. Those appear to be skull caps also. Not shaven heads. They say nature has no blue monkeys, then show 1. Of course, they had the monkeys. And they sailed to India. They were a sea civilization. They may have originally come from India.
(1) I simply state that there are no monkeys with blue fur. That is the scientific consensus. If you see in my video shots (taken in the zoos in Heidelberg and Stuttgart) monkeys with blue fur, please check the color settings of your monitor. (2) It is very unlikely that the Minoans wore skull caps. You can see curls in various places (especially on the women), so there would have to be holes in the skull caps. It is also not very logical that the colour of such skull caps should be so different from the rest of the clothing. (3) Traditional research saw the Minoans as „relatives“ of the Phoenicians. The latest research, based on DNA analyses, shows that the Minoan ancestors came from western Anatolia and Greece (Genetic origins of the Minoans and Mycenaeans, Nature, August 2017). There is no rational evidence that the Minoans originated from India or had direct contact with India.
Great Video! Wish you bring some more....
Very interesting! I enjoyed it very much!

Why the symphony, very loud, annoying and unnecessary!!
