    It's good that you dressed the way you wanted to, worked with people you wanted to work with, you didn't join any camps but you could do all this because you had that 'safety blanket'. A financial safety blanket as well as a safety blanket that made sure you had opportunities coming your way. You hardly made 12 films in your decade long career.Your initial films didn't work out but you were still holidaying all across the world in plush hotels , bracing every coveted magazine cover and it's better we don't talk about the money you spend on your wardrobe. NO STRUGGLING ACTOR WITHOUT STRONG LINKS IN THE INDUSTRY CAN TAKE SUCH LIBERTIES WITH THEIR CAREER. They are desperate to earn and be noticed. If they are outspoken like you ( good that you are coz you speak from your heart) they would have been picked from the industry and thrown out. So good for you that haven't signed a film in a year or good that you had things your way but all that was possible because you are Sonam ANIL Kapoor.

  • @gautambahl5667
    @gautambahl5667 7 ปีที่แล้ว +122

    Neerja was a great film no doubt. But, honestly Sonam kapoor does not have the star power or the skill to pull in the crowds in a theater. She called herself a huge star and always puts herself at a pedestal and she is always full of herself. If someone is not investing in your film it is not about sexism it is a choice which they can take since it is their money. Do not try to hide your incompetency with sexism. Ask Boney kapoor to invest in your film and he will shy away from doing so. Get out of your la la land and see the real world. Peace out.

      Rightly said. Sonam just doesn't get it that she is just not there. Its got nothing to do with gender. Economics will over power anything and everything, gender won't stand. But the truth is, that the economics just doesn't work in favor of a Sonam Kapoor. High time she understands this. Even Harsh is so biased towards her on this... I mean I wish I could thumbs up what u said, a multiple times

      Gautam Bahl it does have a lot to do with gender LMAO How many hit films has Vadim given, all on his won? John? Compared to Kareena? Sonam? Even if they have given bigger or more hits (which, have they really?) it doesn't justify the huge difference in how much money they are getting

  • @aaa-xd3jj
    @aaa-xd3jj 7 ปีที่แล้ว +53

    Sonam is not a draw on her own. People are not looking forward anxiously for her next film. If a film is interesting and she just happens to be in it, people will go see it. Sonam should be made to sit in a room and watch all her own interviews until she finally sees how self absorbed and vain she is. It is really hard to like her as a person or actress because of her over the top ego. A little bit of humility and self-deprecation goes a long way. Leave compliments for others to give you.

    I don't understand all this hatred towards Sonam. She is saying Prem Ratan and Bhaag Milka are not her movies. She is giving credit to Salman and Farhan and the directors for those movies. And yet all I read in the comments is that what does she think of herself, and that bhaag milka was not her movie and .... Well, to me, she is not arrogant. She is a confident lady who speaks her mind.

    I have lived overseas now for over 22 years and the one thing I am observing in Indian media is the immense dislike for Hindi. This interview was a promotion for a Hindi film, if the interviewer & interviewee were unable to speak in Hindi at least there should be an option for Hindi captions. I was yawning after 2 mins and had to stop watching.

  • @davincecool

    A "behind-the-scenes" interview of how entitled star kids talk. Not expected from Film Companion.
    The guy looks like he's on his 74th movie. Where is the humility? I wonder how he will interact if, God forbid, he actually does well? I am sure papa has planned plenty of back up films or careers.
    Sonam is beyond repair. Calling herself a star. Saying movies won't do well without her. Wake up! No one is indispensable. I guess the privileged spend entire lifetimes in this bubble. While lesser mortals like me are subjected to such interviews and shows of arrogance. Ugh. Pukeworthy.

    Wow what an insightful conversation. I have always respected Sonam's honesty and her (let's call it) "lack of filter," but I am even more impressed by this discussion, because she really brought up some interesting points about the gender gap in the industry (I feel as though many other contemporaries would not be as blunt or open in sharing their opinions or experiences). I also absolutely love Harsh already and really admire how perceptive he is about both films and the industry in general. What an interesting sibling duo. Both have very contrasting personalities, experiences, and perspectives, but that's what made this interview so engaging and refreshing. They are both quite mature and passionate about their work, contrary to what some of the other comments may suggest.

    Sonam is a terrible actress. She has to face the truth and learn that it is her acting that is really bad and stopping her from getting good budgets for her films. She is a beautiful girl but unless she knows how to act she won't be able to make it big here.
    Heard that she will be wearing a bikini in her next film "veere di wedding". These types of cheap acts won't help her become a big star because she's not one. She's not a "huge star" as she claims to be one.
    Hope her brother is a good actor. Because that's what matters. Knowing how to act.

    Sonam is definitely not a bad actress , Ranjhana or Neerja are enough to show that , It is her self obsession, self praise and cocky attitude so off putting .. BTW Sonam after Raanjhana you had a Bewakoofiyan , which was a flop . I am a fan but not a blind one

      sunnygirly2k4 seriously! I was thinking the same thing while watching the movie, I felt like watching Sonam not even for a moment she slipped into the character. Why don't Bollywood give chance to the deserving actors, how long we have to bear mediocrity.

    If one of these days Sonam showed up in a shirt and jeans, with little or no makeup, and hair just down, everyone would see her differently even if she said the same things. All the people commenting that she is untalented, talks too much, is full of herself or arrogant or whatever - half of that is perception because she shows up looking fabulous all the time

    • @rishys3865
      @rishys3865 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Alok pandey You forgot Akshay Kumar.
      Ek aur problem hai and that's from our side - We idolise actors too much. Ye fanboyism bhi ek reason hai ki investors don't invest in budding talent. Aur ye budding talents bhi jo laate hain, rarely are they up to mark. Nawazuddin, Jimmy Shergil, Irfaan Khan - inki akele ki movies blockbusters hoti hi nahi hain. So part of the blame goes to the public too. But talent to nahi rahi Bollywood me ab - ye sabi jante hai. Na Rafi aur Kishore jaise singers aa rahen hain , na Dev Anand, Amitabh jaise actors ubhar rahen hain. Yaar mehnat ki kamai aadmi aese thode hi waste karta hai tickets pe. Par nahi. Inneh to sabko ullu banana hi hai. Please don't expect all people to get fooled all the time (haan wahi Abraham Lincoln wala reference 😁).

    • @alok0915
      @alok0915 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rishy S what Akshay kumar?...recently he has been doing some good movies especially with the directors likes of Neeraj pandey...otherwise he was crap...he is very limited as an actor too....but for the latter part of ur comment i would say it's the audience which decides what they want to be catered...and i believe every actor has a space where he can leverage his audience..and also u must connect with the audience..i think only salman has that mass appeal and rooted ethos that is why he is where he is today..which may be Irfan lacks...that is why their span of audience is small.....they lack spectrum of mass audience...and he is not as versatile as salman or Aamir as well...so the likes of Irfan and co must buck up....otherwise they may become irrelevant sooner than later...

    • @ahotsfashion
      @ahotsfashion 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Before a Neerja, there was a Saawariyaa, A Raanjhanaa and a Delhi6 and others. Hit movies don´t mean that the performances are good. Neerja worked on all levels. & that´s still rare, sadly. How is Sonam supposed to follow up on Neerja, when she can´t get financing for her movies despite her successes? & it takes more than a year to make a movie happen on the big screens.

    • @MsTellywood
      @MsTellywood 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ahot Fungroove you named ranjhana and sawariya, one a flop and another a disaster. Delhi 6 was her 2nd film years and years ago. Hit movies and performances don't always match but we're talking about producers. Producers don't care about performances they're not interested in cinema, they're investors who want a return on their $$ and if you can't deliver hits then no you won't get financing, it has nothing to do with her being a woman. You can question Varun's talent (since Sonam used him as an example) but you can't deny he has yet to give a flop so he will get more $$$

    • @MsTellywood
      @MsTellywood 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ahot Fungroove her performance AND her track at the BO are inconsistent, producers can't have faith in her because of that so she won't get financing unless she can prove that she can consistently deliver at the BO
