      I’ve just heard about this technology on a fb sewing group. I feel like I’ve been living in the prehistoric days and just jumped a time warp!

    I can’t thank you enough for this video! I came looking to find out if i could use my aaxa pico projector (that i bought about 5 years ago) for sewing and low and behold you have the same projector so i got all my questions answered! I’ve ordered the same ceiling mount. Great video!

    Very cool. I’m a bit unsure about this. I love the idea, but I’m also nervous about the switch.

    WOW. This is the future of sewing?
    Best idea is open a shop for ppl to come in and DIY, w a projector set up, then go home and sew.😂

    I could also see using this to trace on paper for a better fit before fabric. Then you can slice/dice, etc and make changes.

    How do cut dark colored fabrics with the projector, without have to draw them on medical paper first

    Lots of good information! I make so many pattern adjustments, FBA, shorten sleeves and body, swayback, etc. it almost seems like extra work. Anyone out there have thoughts or comments?

    • @Elphaba571
      @Elphaba571 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This was my first thought as well. I think that I would attempt to digitally alter the pattern piece, and project that instead of using paper. It would be tricky to figure out at first, and I imagine you would need a vector program to make the alterations digitally. It might be easier to do digital alterations once you get the hang of it though… inputting measurements directly instead of having to meticulously measure them out, etc. If you could utilize some of the open source pattern drafting software with a projector I think you’d really have something!

    I wondered what a projector pattern file was. Now I know - thank you! Do you have to have a special Adobe to remove the layers you don't want or does free Adobe Acrobat allow you to do this?

    Seems to me that if you are going to trace pattern pieces and cut them out you might as well use a paper pattern.

      Downloadable PDF patterns require a lot of printing and taping. This way you can just trace off what you need.

    • @CriticallySteffany

      The biggest draw for me, is not having to store hundreds of paper patterns somewhere

    • @donnatodd1
      @donnatodd1 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, but you either have to wait for you order and AO file or spend an hour printing, cutting, and piecing together a paper pattern. Also, this allows for cutting multiple sizes more easily than either of the other two avenues.

    While this is incredibly helpful about setup, at the end of the day she is just tracing it all out on paper anyway? For me this defeats the purpose. Are there any links ppl have to folks who mark adjust and cut direct from the projection?

    Im confused. If you can plug in an HDMI cable why can't you plug in a Chromecast? They input on a Chromecast or a fire stick is HDMI.
