- KREIDLER's Worldspeedrecord-attempt MEO-1 in 1965.
In 1965 engineer Hilber designed the speedrecord machine for Kreidler.
In october of that year the Kreidler team traveled to the desert of Utah, to try to break the worldspeedrecord 50cc on the Bonneville Salt Flats.
The basic design of the shape of this Kreidler was done by the Italian 'Vaifro Meo' so the machine was called 'Kreidler-Meo'.
It was further 'streamlined' in the windtunnel of Stuttgart University.
They were determined to break the old record of Volker Kramer with a Zündapp (Spring 1965, 153.492 km/h).
The dimensions of MEO-1:
Length : 320 cm
Height : 75 cm
Width : 52 cm
Although Rudolph Kunz was a very small and very light man, he just fitted into the machine.
23 october 1965, after days of testing and improving the Kreidler team broke the Worldspeedrecord 50 cc:
A maximum speed of :225.342 km/h
And an average record speed :210.634 km/h ! - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
i love it !
I still have my grandpas kreidler
@Jens Many thanks for this jewel.
The sound of the engine clearly shows that they used racing fuel with a very high octane - maybe 110 or 115 Ron leaded fuel , nice
I owned a Kreidler 50cc motorcycle. There was not any Japanese bike even up to 125 cc that could smell that bike! I could do a 120 kmh lifting my girlfriend leaving my buddies in the dust who where riding the bikes alone 👌👌😂😂
