Reese and Clark fans have been arguing with each other since the 2023 championship, which is what’s driving a lot of the growth of the WNBA, lol. Reese is largely responsible for that because I wasn’t paying attention to women’s basketball at all until Reese brought the ruckus after the 2023 championship and made it an interesting national story with drama, intrigue, etc, which actually made it engaging.
And this is a POINT!

The reaction over Reese’s mocking hand gesture, the First Lady inviting Iowa to the White House even though they lost, and Reese’s response to that and the drama and intrigue over whether she was going to attend in light of that, are what made people pay attention to women’s basketball who weren’t already paying attention to it. The extended coverage made Reese a household name and put women’s basketball on the radar of people who were just following the general news or political news and not following women’s basketball. Before that I had no idea who Caitlin Clark was and had no interest whatsoever in following women’s basketball.
@@boondoggle4820 how many complete sellouts does Reese have at home in the 3 largest city. Average attendance is around 8300 with a 10 k plus capacity. The Fever in 5 games already matched all of last year's attendance total. That being said all the rookies are playing well. I want them all to succeed. The class of 24 is amazing. Someone responded with supporting Reese with prayer that's worth more then money. Do prayers pay for charter flights and the rest of the bill's

And there's nothing wrong with the rivalry. It's exciting. BUT what I don't like is Caitlin fans making it seem like she's a delicate flower and the black players are weeds in her garden of success in the WNBA. Let them play. If she's what people say she is, then cheer her on and watch her overcome it. Don't expect the other players to take it easy on her because you want her to win. What's happening to her isn't new. Hell I've been seeing it happen to other girls all season, and worse, so why are they upset? I keep asking that.

This rivalry definitely helped college and the W. The rookie class of 24 is doing amazing.

The Liberty sold out and had record gate of 2 million plus. The Mystic's had attendance of 20,333 and 1 million plus gate. Best attendance in 17 years.
2.25 million, 2.12 million, 1.71 million, 1.56 million, 1.5 million tv viewership. 1.02 million on ion tv. Ion tv.
One player got a 28 million deal from Nike for her own shoe. Another got a Wilson basketball deal. Jordan is the other player to get that deal. That's huge props and bragging rights for the W and it's fans. One player made 3.1 million last season in college another around 2 million. Already multi millionaires before a W game even played. The draft show 2.45 million best ratings ever. Another player ranks 4th in NBA jersey sales. Wow. The Fever of all teams even managed to match last year's attendance total in 5 games. Average attendance is 8 k or so. I heard 1 team is averaging around 15 k plus home and away probably the Liberty or LA Sparks based on population density. This league is starting to grow big time.

Chicago averages 8,000 attendance while Fever averages 12,000. So, that's why when these two meet, the ratings and viewership DOUBLES

I love Angel but she not from the hood or streets! She actually grew up in a nice home, neighborhood and went to a good school. Angel lived and raised by her Moms, Grandma and Grandpa. She had a great childhool! She was spoiled thats why she always tries so hard to be in the spotlight. She doesn't need to act like a villain! Ya'll trippin is all you have to do is type in attendance home n especially away games for both teams. The away games for the Fever they have to move to bigger arenas like the Sparks, Suns, Dream games vs Fever, to name a few! Clark doesn't need Angel ya'll trippin. Fever sell out wherever they play just FACTS! Yes I am black but ya'll need to take your pride out of this! Angel will be a great player but right now she just shoots from 2 ft away with 33% FG and gets her own offensive rebounds is why she averages over 10 rebounds a game. I would rather her make her shots and average 20 pts a game. I hate to say it but Clark can do it all. Clark has an all around game that's exciting to watch..PLEASE take the skin color out of it

I never heard of a C. Clark before Angel Reese. Clark only got notoriety when Angel Reese pointed at her finger 😂. And that’s why the WNBA is mad and pushing clark instead of Reese.

@@robertfowler8823 I follow Women's college bball and really only heard of CC during the 2023 march madness. I had already heard of Angel Reese when she was at Maryland and transferred to LSU and social media. I promise there is an entire community of ppl who never heard of CC until the "you can't see me." I also believe there is an entire community that know of CC because they follow Iowa and there is a huge fan base there. At some point ppl will just admit that the rivalry needed "the moment" (the John Cena)...and the media ran with it... I absolutely love a good rivalry and as of now I am Team Reese and Chicago Sky (I also followed Kamilla to the Sky because i love South Carolina and Dawn)... but I pray the racism/homophobia and other hate leaves soon...because I can only take so much basketball if hate is gonna be involved.

The data we have access to backs that up. Avg. Fever attendance numbers are more then double avg. Chicago Sky attendance numbers. Anyone with common sense understands who's moving the needle. I get that pushing this rivalry narrative is good for youtubers but the truth is the truth. If I can see a Chicago game (that doesn't include CC) do 2M+ views, I'll admit Reese is moving the needle. I've already seen CC do that multiple times this year. Both while playing Reese and when she's not playing Reese.
The numbers are different when she’s not playing Reese 😂. That’s common sense. Clark fans are not translating through the WNBA. That’s a loss for the WNBA. It may be a gain for Indiana, but it’s not doing what the WNBA wanted to do.
You CC Stans are constantly gloating about numbers which is inane. But on the topic, didn’t she get about a million more viewers in this game against Angel Reese than she does against other teams? She gets heavy marketing and promotion and nearly all of her games are nationally televised. That’s why she gets those numbers. And no matter what you say, Angel Reese made Caitlin Clark famous. Nothing she did on the basketball court made her famous. People outside of the women’s basketball audience didn’t care until Angel Reese brought the ruckus in 2023. That’s when she became famous.
