She's always moving, always playing, even distributing the ball to her teammates, so they they succeed. However her teammates are not always ready for the pass, and they don't pass to her in the front court. Last game, she was passed the ball in the front court 3 times. 3 times- she needs to shoot the ball at least 20 times per game vs. 10 or 11.
I agree. I have been seeing on avg 3.5 of her turnovers per game are from girls not catching passes. Fever is good for about 6 missed open layup per game (2 assists of those to clark). Their schedule started brutally with many games all against best teams. It's leveled off now and they are winning. Their D has gotten better but still not good. Rebounding needs to be better and I'm not happy with coaching. Talent level of Fever compared to top 4 teams is a big gap. Definitely need to improve on player talent & probably more experienced HC to turn it around to try and win a chip. Clark needs to make better decisions with the ball, which she will at some point & get more comfortable so game slows down then her shot will fall more. She needs to take the off season a study her D. She takes bad angles, gives up on plays on D sometimes, work on better positioning & anticipation of reading players & plays. She needs to see the whole court on D as she does on O. With her IQ she should be getting way more steals. Bird was not super athletic, fast or could jump but he was quick, anticipated & read players like a book that's why he was always in top 5-10 in NBA in steals & made all D-teams. He played 3 steps ahead of everyone else. Clark should be able to do this too.

Clark is 18th in pts, that's after a few stinker games, 4th in assists, and 30th in reb and she's a point guard. She's doing really good. All that while being guarded tighter than anyone else.

What product has the WNBA put out in all their years of operation that would make fans want to watch? They aren't watching to see women beat each other up, they are watching to see Caitlin shoot 3s, play fast, and make great passes. Womens college basketball is more popular than the mens. Why? Because the good teams that are not UCONN and SC play an exciting brand of basketball. Thru the last championship game, most people tuned in to see Caitlin. Why? Because she played a style of basketball that people really liked to see, and because she was on Iowa, she got to be the focal point of the offense for 4 years. Most of the WNBA up to this point has been led by star players from UCONN, South Carolina and similar programs. Why does that matter? Because their style of play wins games, but is not exciting. Think about how much South Carolina was a snooze fest from the fan standpoint, even though they've been dominant. They won the championship and no one cared. That brand of basketball doesnt sell. Now that you have a few breakthrough players coming from college with their fans, endorsements, and legacies from programs that are NOT UCONN or South Carolina, and the WNBA can't handle it because its different.
Breanna Stewart saying that a player needs a championship to be considered one of the all time greats, is like Kevin Durant saying that a NBA player needs a championship inorder to be considered great. Stewart was on a super stacked UCONN team, that could have won the championships without her.

I really enjoyed starting to watch womens sports in general this year. I tried to watch years ago when Lobo entered the league and i fell off. I did some research and tried to get up to speed on the veterans in the league, one immediately jumped out of the statistics Diana Turasi. She has an amazing career playing basketball all around the world. I don't understand why we don't hear more about her and i don't understand why she isn't more of a mentor when it comes to new talent entering the league. She's always moving, always playing, even distributing the ball to her teammates, so they they succeed. However her teammates are not always ready for the pass, and they don't pass to her in the front court. Last game, she was passed the ball in the front court 3 times. 3 times- she needs to shoot the ball at least 20 times per game vs. 10 or 11.
I agree. I have been seeing on avg 3.5 of her turnovers per game are from girls not catching passes. Fever is good for about 6 missed open layup per game (2 assists of those to clark). Their schedule started brutally with many games all against best teams. It's leveled off now and they are winning. Their D has gotten better but still not good. Rebounding needs to be better and I'm not happy with coaching. Talent level of Fever compared to top 4 teams is a big gap. Definitely need to improve on player talent & probably more experienced HC to turn it around to try and win a chip. Clark needs to make better decisions with the ball, which she will at some point & get more comfortable so game slows down then her shot will fall more. She needs to take the off season a study her D. She takes bad angles, gives up on plays on D sometimes, work on better positioning & anticipation of reading players & plays. She needs to see the whole court on D as she does on O. With her IQ she should be getting way more steals. Bird was not super athletic, fast or could jump but he was quick, anticipated & read players like a book that's why he was always in top 5-10 in NBA in steals & made all D-teams. He played 3 steps ahead of everyone else. Clark should be able to do this too.

They aren't watching to see women beat each other up, they are watching to see Caitlin shoot 3s, play fast, and make great passes.
Womens college basketball is more popular than the mens. Why? Because the good teams that are not UCONN and SC play an exciting brand of basketball. Thru the last championship game, most people tuned in to see Caitlin. Why? Because she played a style of basketball that people really liked to see, and because she was on Iowa, she got to be the focal point of the offense for 4 years.
Most of the WNBA up to this point has been led by star players from UCONN, South Carolina and similar programs. Why does that matter? Because their style of play wins games, but is not exciting. Think about how much South Carolina was a snooze fest from the fan standpoint, even though they've been dominant. They won the championship and no one cared. That brand of basketball doesnt sell.
Now that you have a few breakthrough players coming from college with their fans, endorsements, and legacies from programs that are NOT UCONN or South Carolina, and the WNBA can't handle it because its different.

They all know they couldn’t do that, they all know they can’t do it now and they came to the wnba and they’ve done the same thing they did in college, two teams have like 6 of the team USA players. CC and the expansion draft is gonna open the game up so that these younger players will get some playing time and the league will be more competitive.

I'm disappointed to hear what Cheryl Swoopes said. Ever since the start of the WNBA she has been one of my favorites. Not any more. CC is not her whole team, even though she has been responsible for several wins for them. It takes a team to win a championship. I'm very sad to hear the jealousy coming out of Swoopes mouth. Going to have to let her go as one of my all time favorites.

I really enjoyed starting to watch womens sports in general this year. I tried to watch years ago when Lobo entered the league and i fell off. I did some research and tried to get up to speed on the veterans in the league, one immediately jumped out of the statistics Diana Turasi. She has an amazing career playing basketball all around the world. I don't understand why we don't hear more about her and i don't understand why she isn't more of a mentor when it comes to new talent entering the league. Its not like you're going to break her records because she is a beast.
CC is breaking her records right now and DT is just a salty, rude old east coast chick. She couldn’t bring in anyone to the league and her game is not entertaining but she’s the goat because she’s played for 20 years. When she sees a new young player she sees someone who might take her status away. She’s never mentored anyone but she has helped bully a couple of girls out the league.

Caitlin is a good ambassador to basketball. I'm from Minnesota we have 4 WNBA championships. As any women here what the name of the team is and they don't know. Who's watch the WNBA....nobody until now.
Especially in women's college basketball, most people won't know the individual players that were on teams that won championships. On the other hand individuals that hold records will be remembered. Also championships are team, more than individual accomplishments.
