Looks delicious! What??? No store bought sprinkle cookies??!!?? Lol! Sorry! I had to! I love how everything you make has a special memory of your parents. I lost my dad about a year ago and like you said....I NEVER thought I'd lose my father so early in my life...I try not to think about how he will never meet his grandchildren bc he would have been a great grandfather. I am always thankful that I still have my mom and so thankful that I have a husband that understands why moving my mom in with us was so important to me. Been a fan of yours since season and will always be team Teresa! Love love love!

My mom taught me a similar cookie but no cream cheese. It was a anise flavored cookie dough. She would roll them out and the twist them into knots, bake and after cooled she made the glaze with confectionery sugar and anise extract. We dipped them in the glaze and added sprinkles. Her anisette cookies were legendary. I found her recipe. It makes six dozen cookies. After a few hours of rolling out cookies, they got bigger and bigger. Bigger cookies, less rolling and dipping. 😂😂😂😂

About 10 years ago, my daughter and I met Teresa and her oldest daughter at a cookbook signing at the Palisades Mall,West Nyack,NY. I still have that book. There are pics of her mom in the book. These cookies look delicious.

I might have to make these with my mom, older sister, and niece for Christmas because none of us eat anything dairy unless it’s pizza, quesadilla, or a bagel with cream cheese so cream cheese cookies?……oh yeah, we’re definitely making these. My niece just turned 15 last month and all she wanted to do is learn to bake cake (which she did, and it tasted amazing) so this would be the perfect opportunity for her to bake again.

My heart hurt for her when she was talking about her mom and nonno!! Teresa’s what? Late 40s? That’s so young to lose not one but both your parents. Then all the other shit she’s gone through …. It just makes my heart hurt for her. However she seems to be very happy with her new husband and that’s great. I wish her nothing but happiness and love!!

We don't use the same baking measurement internationally, so it will help sharing the volume/ weight of ingredients instead of saying 'a stick of butter or a packet of cream cheese'! The ingredients in desription below does not state measurements. I do understand with food like spices and stuff its a feel and to taste thing but baking is very different, u have to have the right measurements!!!

Look delicious! I had a question where does the lemon extract and zest go in the cookie dough, icing or both? Also on the flour is it 1 3/4 cup?
I also did not get that, if it is a 3/4 or 1and 3/4 cup, not sure?
She said 1 3/4 cup flour
I didn't see her add any lemon. So confused
I would add lemon juice and zest to the icing anf forget the sprinkles. unsalted butter or butter with salt. Regular flour or self-raising flower
