I've been buying fishing stuff from Temu for the last year. Lots of crappie and panfish items and all have been really decent quality. Yes I have caught fish with them. I have also purchased approximately 20 reels with most of them being spinning reels. Two were less than $5 and I wasn't all that impressed with them, but the majority of them were in the $9-$12 range. Those I have been really impressed with. They range from the mini pocket size 100 to the 1000 sizes. So far none have broken or stripped a gear. If you haven't tried them yet I will say give one a try. You might be impressed too!
@ronmayo8591 Thanks for the info! I never considered reels or anything like that. I was a bit trigger shy to give them a shot. But it's good to hear you have had good luck, so I may check some out. I think the small soft plastics and things like that from Temu are just fine. They also have some unique body shapes, etc, that you don't really see anywhere else. I will probably get some stuff from them on and off. Thanks again for telling us about your Temu wins! We appreciate it!
Reading the responses I thought that I would add to them. The Temu reels are fun to use. The two largest fish that I have caught so far were a 2 pound channel cat and a 2 1/2 pound drum. Both of these were caught using the pocket mini 100 reel, 4 lb test hi-vis line, and a 10' Bn'M West point rod. Just recently bought a total of 64 mini crankbait lures from Temu. Looking forward to seeing how well they work.
@ronmayo8591 I have to say I am super intrigued by the amount of positive feedback on the Temu reels. I may have to get some and do a video on them. Definitely caught my attention!
Thanks! There will probably be a Temu update video coming soon! I have learned a lot about their stuff and can speak further on it with info beyond just first impressions. Thanks for checking out our content! Tight lines!
For sure! I'm hoping to get some time on the water this weekend to test a few things out. The only thing I have used thus far is the aluminum pliers and line snips. And they work surprisingly well. They don't feel cheap at all. First impressions were surprising. Now we will see how everything functions and get a feel for longevity. I don't imagine me using Temu as any sort of constant supplier, but I have been so curious. Now I have some stuff to check out! Stick around because I hope to do some specific videos on these items.
@stankbonkman Sorry my dude, I have a busy schedule and film time is at a premium, I put time with my son on the water above videos. I'm going to have content related to these items. But I'm going to get there when I get there.
Great post, yep l have been ordering some of my fishing gear for around 6 months from Temu & yes l was really surprised for the cost how good the quality is fishing tackle here in Australia is very expensive now especially lures Temu's lures so far have been awesome quality & work well for a fraction of what they cost here in Australia now.
@Surinboy60 That is awesome that you have found a more affordable solution! Fishing has gotten pretty spendy like most things lol. Thanks for checking out the video
these lures are already 3~5 times expensive than similar ones I'm using in China... fishes are not rocket scientist, the lures just need to be functionally right, dont need to be super fancy in detail.
@@madhatterentmt6146 watched some fishing videos in US, I find if I fish there like I'm fishing at home, it will easily cost me $20 in a short afternoon. I use 3g 5g 7g jig head and 2 inch 3 inch soft lure for bottom fish, snag a lot, it usually cost me USD2~3.
Yea, it's cheap for us. There is a trade-off to quality. I agree that simplicity is key. I have had just as much if not more success from impressionistic baits as realistic. A creature bait alone can be mistaken for a lizard, crayfish, small baitfish, worm, or any number of aquatic critters. That's a powerful thing!
We use a gold rattle trap quite a bit when the water is up and cloudy. Bass crush them! We also like gold chatterbaits. We take off the skirts and run a Gulp minnow, or the champ minnow on it. That combo of vibration, flash, and minnow profile is a good one! All great recommendations from you! Thanks for stopping by and watching!
Good to know! I started with baits and and simple gear just to see what it is all about. I've heard decent feedback on reels and rods and am certainly intrigued! Thanks for letting us know you have had good luck!
Oh buddy, let me tell ya! The name game with this stuff is bonkers lol! The nippers have been at the top of my most favorite out of this haul! They work great!
It’s hit and miss if you get MIFiNE products not bad but I get better gear from my locals by the time you include postage it comes out the same as getting it from my locals my reels are Okinawa for $70 per reel
Yea by the time you factor all the wait time, weeding through junk and whatnot, I don't feel I need to continue getting stuff from Temu. I didn't have bad luck with the stuff by any means, but I also was prepared to go skipping through the streets because of it. I plan to stick with what I know.
@williamneick-zq6th it is super hit and miss. The soft plastics tend to be a bit stiff and easily ripped. Terminal stuff is of usable quality. Some of it could be improved with better hooks and hardware, but by that time, you may as well get better baits. I won't go out of my way to get more from them. Some people rave about what they get. To me it is mostly meh.
I'm certainly not a fan of the plastic that they use! It's an odd Plastisol mix. I haven't had issues with them corrupting other baits as I have kept them separate. But I also wouldn't be surprised if they degrade pretty easily. Thanks for checking out the video! Tight lines!
I’ve bought two reels- a fly reel and a spinning reel- both broke the first time I used them. The drag broke right away on the fly reel and the spin caster’s whole mechanism that holds the handle on completely fell apart into the river I was fishing. Needless to say I’m not buying anymore reels from there. I did buy a rod to go with the spin reel and that has turned out great.
@flyfishnish Interesting! Cool that the rod is working out for you! Sorry the reels were 💩. I have heard a mixed bag of good and bad feedback on the reels. Thanks for giving me your experiences! Tight lines
Yea the almost part shined through on a fair amount of what I got. The cheap prices of course are nice! The quality is to hit and miss for me to want to wade through all the stuff. I alleviated my curiosity tho!
Ended up loving it! In terms of bang for the buck, it's a great little bag! It's become my go-to bag for lightweight wade fishing when we are using spinning gear.
Everything I have bought from temu is total rubbish, seriously how can anyone think this garbage is good???? Only someone seriously misrepresenting the truth with dubious intent, would give a good review,
Thank you for taking the time and risking the money to do the video for the benefit of everyone wondering if its worth it.
@woodyboyd2595 certainly my friend! I figured it was worth it just to see. Thanks for checking out the video! Tight lines

Agreed they may not be the highest quality but I've been using one spinning reel and have caught multiple 2-4lb catfish with no issues.
Love my 1000 series reel. Been buying a crapload of stuff and love the micro crankbaits.
Their electronic power bank and tire inflator work great.

Idk if u will see this but I know u said fish near u like gold so I would for bass suggest a gold ratle trap or like a gold bladebait or rooster tail

I was just going through some of my baits that I had not dealt with in a while. And yep, I do have some baits that are melted.
I keep mine in the original packaging and don't leave them in the car or sun😊

It just needs barbless hooks then it be good
Yea I didn't want to switch out hooks just for the sake of testing. But most of the cranks that I got could have been improved with better hooks!
Can I have that dehooker when you make it to 500 subs

Pure curiosity on my part. Nothing more than that. So much of what we buy is Chinese junk anyway that this is pretty much just on par.

Lol! Fair enough! I haven't been impressed, to say the least. I will stick with tried and true manufacturers.
