@@shizhou5809 it's as much of a bloom variant as ganyu freeze is an ayaka variant (yes , this doesn't make sense and that's the point I'm making) Her Q doing the same type of scaling as bloom (quadratic) and the gauge stuff makes her as much of a natural slot in for bloom teams as her in other teams
Ganyu on release was my Oceanid and Dvalin killer. Now she’s my Fungi farmer without having to use Electro and Pyro. I’ll always find a great use for her in the overworld.
40:26 This sounds like revisionist history. For the time, pre-2.0, Ventiable floors were aplenty, so Ganyu was basically one of the best characters to have in the game at the time. It really was the META at the time. Not to say that she wasn't overrated then, but she definitely was basically a top 5-10 unit pre-2.0 and definitely was one of the best DPS in the game whether that'd be solo output or team based. I can't say much about the melt teams tho, because I don't really remember it being used as much back then, since having both Ganyu and Zhongli back then basically meant that you had to spend quite a bit to get them both, but from what I remember, it was mostly just the Tony To style of content with those teams. Tbh she was still pretty damn META in 2.1 or 2.2, before they nerfed the fuck out of Venti to cater to Raiden and Inazuma 5-stars based content, so the latter part of the question is somewhat true. Even now, they've nerfed Ayaka and freeze in general with how the abyss lineups are, which also hurts Ganyu too. Ganyu Melt teams are still quite underrated by Mr Zajef and others tho imo
Zajef did mention that he felt hoyo did not expect freeze to be that strong and that anti cryo mechanics were introduced heavily. He possibly could have reiterated that point again when that point about what changed about ganyu from her release but he didn't.
He just said she wasn’t broken and was overrated not that she wasn’t useful, back then we had access to National variants and taser variants that people were overlooking that performed just as well if not better, people back then acted like ganyu was the most broken character in the game and an easy win button which just was not true back then, that was the point of that section.
@@waicus8744 I never said that he said that Ganyu back then wasn't useful? I just said that he recollected that time wrong since the enemies back then really catered to a Venti team, which subsequently made it a literal win button with Ganyu. So at the time, she was broken, just like Venti was, making her very META. Heck Morgana was META for a VERY long time. It was either that or National. Taser was third, or somewhat interchangeable. It only really dropped off after the Inazuma enemies came about since Venti got nerfed. I also said that she was overrated back then, because most people just regarded her as the best if not, top 3 characters in the game. But she definitely was META back then being a top 5 or top 10 unit in those abyss cycles. So in that case, Zajef was revising history looking through the lens of 2023 when having Venti back then was a literal win button. Heck having Venti NOW is a literal win button if the enemies are ventiable, so imagine how it was back then.
@@waicus8744 Dude I've been playing since 1.0, and she really was absolutely cracked at the time. All content in the game, was easily dominated by her. Abyss already had Morgana, but she also ruled open world. Every overworld enemy/boss with the exception of Cryo whopperflower was weak to her. Dvalin? Just use Ganyu. Azdaha? Pew pew that frog mf from range. Oceanid and the birds? Shoot and Freeze. Even hard events like the cube event, she could just stay in a corner and cheese the hell out of it. She wasn't considered broken because of the DMG per say, more about you could just cheese the whole game with her.
@@beastunleashed657 yes I’ve also been playing since 1.0 and I didn’t have ganyu and was able to match all of the times ganyu had with other teams, no one is saying she wasn’t meta, she just wasn’t broken Zajef even says in the video she has amazing usage for overworld as you described, no one’s disagreeing with that. Just that she wasn’t crazy insanely above everyone else as everyone assumed back then
Nahida Melt Ganyu being unlimited range against the increasing number of flying bosses in Spiral makes me think Ganyu's stock has risen some. Hyperbloom can still hit some flying enemies, but it's not always easy to apply the elements in certain boss phases. And teams with Xiangling are stuck in melee range and likely have short damage windows. Also worth noting on the EM sand vs Atk sands for Melt Ganyu, if you're playing Sapwood Bennett with Nahida for Melt Ganyu, that's potentially another 120 EM you're picking up from the leaf (if r5 Sapwood), which further skews the sand choice towards Atk sands. Zajef's suggestion was for if you're over 500 EM to consider attack, but you'll have 400-450 fairly easily just off Attack Sands without even considering substats (250 max from Nahida, 80 from Wanderer's 2pc, 120 from r5 Sapwood leaf)
Can you expand on the flying bosses? Isn't aeonblight drake the only flying boss? Electro Oceanid is more like levitating and doesn't really need long range.
@@tropicar6942 ohhhh, wolflord and wenut jusy didn't came to my mind, because i have been taking them down without using bow characters. Yeah fair arguement.
She honestly one of the main reasons I 36 star abyss. In regard to Zajef’s melt comp downsides; I’ve found running Fav Kazuha instead of Xaingling is SO much better. Easier to battery Kazu and Bennett this way.
Just a heads for anyone that plays with high ping and is considering on pulling for Ganyu. You cannot chain charge attacks right away, when you release the charge shot you will have to wait for your ping to catch up before holding for the next charge shot otherwise the imput will be missed and you will be left there standing doing nothing or cursing the devs for not optimazing in the least for high ping users.
Side note about what zajef says here 5:10 there is no “first one” when it comes to the auras applied on the enemy. Some elements might react with 1 aura first while others will react with the other one first. There’s a reaction priority list not an element priority list!
uhm I don't really look at 4* leaks nowadays to not get hyped for someone I'm never guaranteed. how does she compare to Baizhu? I mean, if we compare Baizhu to Thoma (weaker shield but good uptime cause it refreshes) but with heals, how thicc her shield is?
@@akwaMartyna nono i mean ganyu-nahida-benett + layla. does it mess up the effect thats the sole purpose of the burn-melt team? cuz in the video zajef dempnstrates it with zhongli and diona
My Granyu freeze rotation: Shenhe Q > tap E > Kazuha Q > hold E > Kokomi E > Ganyu Q > E > Charged shot > Shenhe tap E > Ganyu catch particles and Charged shot Now you can do more charged shots, can try to refresh Kokomi E with her Q, apply Kazuha shred again, dodge, etc.. Current abyss you can use her in the second side, you can kill the triple Kenkis with her Kazuha freeze, just takes longer than with proper boss teams, but if you finish the first side fast enough (like ~1 min / 1min and a bit) you still should have like 30 seconds to spare (i have a very good freeze build and Amos). Wenut i used to kill in 2 mins with a not perfect rotation and you can cut up to 30 seconds of that if you actually play really well and get good nut rng. Same team. I like Kazuha freeze a lot because you can snapshot her Q with Kazuha buff + Shenhe tap E and Q + Kokomi 68% atack buff.
it's a full limited 5* team so will never be that popular ig, especially when the OG Morgana was called super expensive (even though it had only 2 limited 5*s). I don't think it's better than Venti-Mona-Rosaria variant, even with Shenhe's buff. Rosaria variant has a shorter rotation so utilizes Ganyu's 100% uptime on her burst, uses Venti just lets you get away with less ER, you got Mona's omen and Rosaria just does more dmg than Shenhe. IRC it equals in higher sustained DPS while Shenhe lets you fronload the damage a bit but falls short very quickly. Kokomi's rotational issus you can kind of bypass with Sac frag/having insane ER for bursting but there's no sac spear so using Shenhe for freeze Ganyu just feels bad man, at least for me. I mean, I will defend the point that you CAN use them together with you anytime cause I love Shenhe, but I stopped lying to myself about her being a better option than Rosaria or even Keaya, cause she's just not.

im a ganyu main since day 1, each rerun i get a con to get closer to c6 ( 🐬 btw ) and im so happy that she gets to be used with dendro and it comforts my take that ganyu > ayaka 🤓 AWARE
I've been playing both games recently and it's been alright for me but I remember when Elden Ring came out and most youtubers I watched started posting about it...and I just wasn't that interested in it hehe I know that feeling
@@atriyakoller136 I felt that with Elden Ring. I gave it a fair shot, but FromSoftware games have gotten way too difficult mechanically for my taste. I like a mix of strategic and mechanical skill, and Genshin has that combination. I hope Genshin creators don't forget about it existing since HSR is out! lol
Funny you should mention it, I do in fact play Ganyu as a burst support in a super conduct team. With r5 Mounn's Moon, she's legitimately a fantastic sub-dps for Eula, and since Shenhe is good for buffing Eula anyway, that's a nice extra bit of damage from her burst.
Ganyu is 1 of a few characters I want to vertical invest. I will try to get her C1 in this banner. Hopefully, I can get Kaveh and some C for Candace(for Nilou bloom with Yaoyao.) along the way. I saw the leak about potential CA support character. I hope it's true bc I want her to buff big buff like what Xiao got from Faruzan.
Zajef, I enjoy your videos but I would enjoy them more if your audio was more focused and had less echo. Some damping pads w/ a new mic + boom would probably help a lot. Thank you for your work!
IMO Ganyu still makes up the best and most meta freeze team against groupable enemies. Ganyu, Venti, Kokomi and Ayaka against groupable enemies makes it so that Ganyu's Q, Ayaka's Q and Ganyu's normal attack hit every single enemy at once while Venti has his Q active, which wipes enemies faster than any other freeze team in the game.
I was about to comment this. Even if you have Ganyu anyway, Layla seems like the better pick. You lose a bit of personal damage on the burst, but you lose personal damage on Ganyu's burst in the first place when you build her to have enough ER to burst reliably and don't have all of the buffs of a freeze team that make Ganyu's burst so powerful to begin with. Whereas Layla brings her shield along which just makes the team so much more comfy to play, while also having 100% uptime on her burst and stupidly low energy requirements.
As for Layla - yeah, but Kokomi as solo hydro?? She won't even switch team to proper hyperbloom, quicken will remain. For hyperbloom you simply need Xingqiu or c2 Yelan, same like for vape with no-ICD pyro. Yeah, you can play Kokomi, but let's make it clear it would be mostly a downgrade. She can be second hydro for hyperbloom and burgeon as driver. But then there is no room for Layla.
@@よしみ-x5j nah kuki pulses every 1.5 seconds and you can make 2 seeds in that timing with fridge kokomi.. and more than 2 seeds are useless.. so nah xq not required.. & not really a downgrade
I think it depends on the content bc Ganyu does have 100% uptime and the option to use elegy, but Layla could be better in floors like this abyss 12-1 with the desert beasts who hit HARD I'm just not sure how much cryo does Layla's shield apply(bc she doesn't have 100% uptime on burst I believe
41:51 Should have opened with this disclaimer, and even then it's an understatement. I rolled my eyes so many times during this video, it's a wonder I can still see.
I wonder what Zajef means when he says Whale level investment because a high investment F2P level Wanderer's Trad Melt C0R1 Ganyu team with 60/200 200+ EM probably can do 600k DPR with XL on fav + 230 ER. This is based on 3-4 CA/rotation from Ganyu and energy issues aren't really a problem with the team if played correctly (which is fairly simple, just proc fav and hit your skills). The team is really comfortable to play in AOE and single target and for me, has cleared every single abyss cycle that doesn't have a Cryo/Pyro check. My Ganyu for reference is C1R1 360 EM Hunter's Path with 80/256 Crit and 1460 Atk. It does around 160-180k CA which is roughly 800k DPR. I understand most people won't get to this level, but the F2P level investment I mentioned above is comfortable enough for people to clear the abyss. So I just don't understand the notion that a Melt Ganyu team needs whale level investment to be good unless my Ganyu is considered that level which imo is pretty fuckin BS since I have only spent Welkin primos for Ganyu
First, let's change the word "Whale Investment" to "High Investment", because I also agree that F2P can make a high investment team work, but it has an impact which I will explain later. He assumes that people do Horizontal Investment, meaning that people don't just focus on one or two teams forever. F2P could make a team that is so strong that it looks like Whale, by only focusing on pulling characters / weapons related to the team that he always uses. But the impact is that they doesn't have a lot of team variety. He considers building a good team without a high investment to be more worth it because it means you won't have any trouble building other characters and forming a wide variety of teams. The dendro team is the best example where people don't need very high investments to be strong. Allows people to create many variations of teams around them.
@@OktavianusCelestialine Thats fair, but when people like Zajef or Socksman talk about Ganyu, it feels like they're always undervaluing her Melt teams completely like its difficult to clear the abyss without high investment in that team. All you really need for the supports is to get a wtv 4 piece ToTM set for Zhongli, enough ER 4 ESF and fav on XL, and wtv 4 piece Noblesse on Bennett. Heck you probably don't even need ToTM on Zhongli to make it that optimal. The only concern is a good 4 piece Wanderer/Shime which for the former specifically is pretty fucking easy to get for anyone that's played for more than a year since you'll inevitably get it from either strongbox or bosses, and the latter is not even that big of an upgrade for most variations. Obviously if you compare to the hyperbloom teams where you only really farm a wtv deepwood and wtv amount of EM possible for the bloom trigger, its not as good and I'm not saying its on the same level, but to just out it as a team that just stuggles to clear abyss cycles is quite a fallacy P/s: I think we gotta stop with the notion to group her teams as ones that don't have many variations. She probably has the most variations out of any character, or at least for hupercarries, in the game. Wanna play melt? Yeah Bennett is compulsory, but the others? Nahida, Dehya, Zhongli, Diona, XL are there. How about freeze? Venti is compulsory, but the rest are aplenty, with Ayaka, Mona, Kockomi, Rosaria, Diano, Barbara and others
@@DeVoidAS Yeah I agree. It's like calling her Melt team tier 3 when really it's tier 2. If you compare shielded ganyu's single target damage, X unit + xingqui or hyperbloom has quite a bit more damage than her, but sometimes you can splash multiple enemies Ganyu peforms well. Also Ganyu prolly has the most team-variety of any carry.
i was on stream yst and i asked about hyperfridge ganyu so i came back to this video for more info. i just wanted to say that DAMN your hair looks good here. damn!!
I really don't think this dude understands how broken Morgana was back then. To say it wasn't at least meta is pretty dumb. It was just a few buttons mash win.
@ off meta ganyu teams: I've been running Ganyu/Zhongli/Flex/Flex (usually Kazuha/Shenhe these days, sometimes Albedo or Venti) literally since I got her and it works just fine (C1 Amos Bow Ganyu tho). I very frequently use this team in Abyss (it's pretty much my go-to alongside Rational) and I've been 36-starring for a long time now.
Melt feels so bad and I don't have Venti for the ideal freeze team but hyperfridge Ganyu might actually make me use her. But i'm swimming in characters atm so thats unlikely. I do agree with Ganyu making the overworld more interesting. Shes really fun there.
I don't understand why they consider melt ganyu to be not good When i do more than 200k with her charge + frost flake So it's easily 1M rotation Is 1M rotation became bad when I don't know 🌛💔 Or it's just about the energy issues
@@hamza-m557 most meta teams have like >1.4M damage per rotation without needing a shield for comfort. And if you can do 200k CA, then that's a high enough investment that, when applied to other meta teams, just further increase the gap between ganyu and other units
@@hamza-m557 I think they should say ganyu is not same level as top meta team. But she is still pretty decent. She has good aoe so even with less ST dmg she may kill multiple enemies faster. If you don't have zhongli she's more prone to interruption/dying than other dps, so she's not great against enemies that very hard like consecrated beast.
While I have never used her in floor 12 anymore, she is a staple in 9-11 where all the content there is still Ventiable. good that you don't have to think so much what to do for floors 9-11
1) About the timing of Ganyu's Charged SHots in Burn-Melt: Do you have to wait until you see the visual indicator of the 2nd level Charge? Or can you fire as fast as you normally would in other melt teams? (Aka, letting the arrow go just a bit after the level 1 charge indicator still allows you to get the Bloom part. Basically you don't have to wait for the "2 charges indicator" to fire your arrow and get the bloom, as you can get them quicker). 2) Is there any importance between applying pyro first before Nahida E in creating the burning aura VS Nahida E first and applying Pyro afterwards?
1) it's miliseconds, I don't think it will even get you one extra charged shot in the rotation if you do that, but from what I tried right now doing it ASAP works (I might be doing it wrong in general tho, I can't see with the ruin machines doing their things) 2) no, in general doesn't matter but you usually start with Nahida for longer Bennet uptime
yeah, the most insane thing was, that ganyu got compared to hu tao and xiangling and now shes just... meh. i currently find much success in the abyss playing hu tao/xingqiu/fischl/beidou. the team works without any healer or shielder because hu tao gets alot of i-frames, has high dmg resistance and her own burst healing with xingqius healing, xingqius dmg reductions + beidous dmg reduction and with beidous shield. you can easily get through the abyss with hu tao under 30% hp. it doesnt deal quite as much dmg as hu tao/xingqiu/yelan/xiangling does but its more safe to play, thanks to beidou and it has fischl, who is pretty usefull in abyss and overworld.
She's a 'one person army'. I mainly use her when i have to farm friendship exp for more then one new character. I put those two guys along with zhongli and Ganyu, or when i have to do some annoying daily commissions. She has definitely fallen off, her value right now is more as an emblem support for freeze teams compared to a proper dps.
She makes a lot more sense to me than Eula. First Eula and now Chongyun...why are people whining about these characters being placed on banners when they aren't that good? Then they appear on the banner and the user rate for abyss won't shift a hair.
40:25 >>>>>> THIS! I love this part so much. Although Ganyu was my first Crowned character, I hated how much people were overrating her at the start of the game. Very few people understand that Meta changes according to the enemies layout in the abyss, and objectivity is a better measurement for the character usefulness than the Damager per screen shot anyway (which mostly exists bc content creators know this community has lots of children/Blind-followers/sheep and causals that love big numbers). There are players who I have seen, including Zajef Twitch chatters sadly, who still joke about Old Tier lists "Bennet is C Tier 🤡" without understanding why that Tier was the way it was. They're just making themselves look like clowns without knowing it😅.
My f2p Ganyu-Nahida team happens to have Amos and her burn-melt deals over 500k in three charged shots (~7 sec). In addition, burn ticks around 2k per instance. Xianling is not even close. TY for the vid
They say theyre trying hard to avoid powercreep yet here we are, the character who used to be a cryo dps queen got severely powercrept by another cryo dps. I guess powercreep doesnt apply only to Bennett Xingqiu Xiangling....
My Ganyu is quite OP with a bunch of cons and refines on her cause of some crazy luck all around (C2 Kazuha and C3 Shenhe on her way to C6 also come into play), but I tend to choose atk vs. EM sands based on how I wanna pace my dps. If I can frontload or need like 1.5 rotations with smooth energy, EM will 99% of cases just be better, but atk can be nice for just consistently taking enemies out. I do have Kazuha C2 + usually Wanderer's (All my homies hate Shime) so my frontloading is still substantial/would run into diminishing returns in any melt setup I use her in, and my overal dps doesn't suffer as much, so just prioritize dps if you don't reach thresholds that work out efficiently. With Shenhe supporting my particular Ganyu, the dps is consistently enough to finish a chamber without bursts, too bad you can't fit a melt package AND Zhongli, and too bad she can eat some melts, but it can work out really well when that doesn't create a problem when trying to solve one in the first place. In open-world? Zhongli held E, Shenhe held E, atk sands go pew pew pew, flying fuck manifestation no longer flies. Ohh, you teleported away? I don't need energy, I don't need circle-impact, they're just dead within an instant, every time. When clearing mobs I'll prefer my Kazuha over Zhongli if I feel like swapping, and basically make it more about Ganyu Q + the extra E charges from all of Ganyu, Shenhe and Kazuha, just quickswap spam with a ton of grouping. It's elemental coverage never really holds me back (Unlike pure freeze, my god that sucks in open-world), Ganyu has proven to STILL be my go-to daily activity choice, and that's like 99% of the game. It's a genuine part of why I rank Kazuha so incredibly high in spite of Sucrose being incredible, too.
@@akwaMartyna You just don't care that much. I use the same build that I use for Freeze, and whenever I have my burst I throw it, but Hyperbloom deals enough to clear
i would say you still want to burst in melt ganyu. If your team is bennet, xl, zhong li you will have enough pyro to still melt your blooms just wait like 0.5 seconds before your first charge shot for the pyro to appear clearly without blinking. (important note place the zhong li pillar away from enemies because that can actually steal your pyro for crystalize and make you not melt)
I don't understand why the face for Diona as a defensive option. She is the best 4* option, only bested by Zhongli and Kokomi. She has healing, shielding, cryo resonance, and energy particles. Use Diona.
Support Ganyu in Freeze is great, but not to pull if you didn't already have her I guess and had Shenhe. Ayaka, Shenhe, Ganyu, Kazuha though for straight cryo I feel this way about c1 with a 5* bow and a damage build with 160 ER, I forgot how different the energy regen is on C0
I would have pulled for ganyu for open world however tighnari performs the same role of dealing with annoying shit so I'll probably save until hydro archon.
You didn't mention that shimenawa is worse than usual if you play melt ganyu with Kazuha since you have to use your e for the setup and can't e at the beginning of her uptime so you generally lose the 4p effect for 1 of her charge shots and have to spend time using her e again which also prevents you from doing rotations of less than 20-21 seconds
Yeah basically everyone uses 4p Wanderers, 4p shimenawa fucks stuff up in the more creative rotations and is a pain to play. Just read the kqm guide. There are a lot of minor details about ganyu stuffs.
Where can we submit "ask zajef" questions? I'm really curious how he would rank 5* constellations for late game F2P players. Nahida c2, Raiden c2, Hu Tao c1, Alhaitham c1, etc. Which ones are the most impactful to target, assuming you use all characters equally?
Ganyu main here :) Her best team is by far Bennett, XL, Kazuha. It is mostly quickswap team because no shield, but with good investment it is just no brain team for like every content (I cleared Wenut with this).
cold take, if bosses cant be frozen, players shouldnt be frozen either. its rly annoying, and it feels like cleansing is a forgotten mechanic anyways. they could make it so bosses are resistant to frozen instead of immune so its not actually useless. it could be like after multiple, maybe 3, procs of frozen on the boss, they actually freeze. this would help a lot against stall bots that hoyo likes to make.
i dont like how hes phrasing the melt ganyu team, makes it sound like u need whale level investment for her to be playable in abyss but i havent spent a dime on ganyu and ive been 36 staring abyss for almost a year now and always have ganyu in one half
I listened to tentengames and pulled Ganyu cuz in his video he made it seem like she was the best dps in the game and how she was impossible to counter...
She got straight up powercrept by a unit with infuriatingly good multipliers on her kit that delivers it all in a short span of time, hence better shenanigans overall. Still salty on that to this day.
I play ganyu since her 1st banner, i think it was patch 1.6 or 1.7 if you don't mind aiming mode and have/plan to get zhongli, just pull for her, no matter what, also...C1 is all u need for her to deal numbers as if ur ganyu is a whale ganyu. U have a chance of getting amos from standard banner or when u lose on weapon banner, eventually you'll get bored doing daily commissions, ganyu can snipe the enemies from the nearest telepoint. explorations goddess, pair her with zhongli, yelan, and kazuha. As long as there's no elemental check, you have perfect exploration team, no need a healer, horizontal and vertical mobility, shield, and ore destroyer checked.
while baizhu is probably useless for ganyu, would love to see your testing on baizhu/nahida/dehya/ganyu in the future and see if it's just ok or not optimal.
How do you know you messed up the timing and need to wait? EDIT: so I watched the video and still do not really have a clue how Burn-Melt works. I'll probably just stick with Xiangling.
A team that I'm playing, and i cleared 36 star abyss with is ganyu, kazuha, furina and jean And having jean in yhere make the whole abyss children play

Just that she wasn’t crazy insanely above everyone else as everyone assumed back then
I learned so much about Nahida in this video thank you Zajef
@@SauravKumar-ki4bn Wolflord, Wenut and Aeonblight all have relevant flying mechanics
@@tropicar6942 ohhhh, wolflord and wenut jusy didn't came to my mind, because i have been taking them down without using bow characters.
Yeah fair arguement.
I love Ganyu, she helped me out so much when I initially started the game. She'll always have a special place in my account.
She honestly one of the main reasons I 36 star abyss.
In regard to Zajef’s melt comp downsides; I’ve found running Fav Kazuha instead of Xaingling is SO much better. Easier to battery Kazu and Bennett this way.
same tho even if she's been downgraded as a burst support for me 🥲

Freeze got worse so ganyu got worse... Last part of this video was bullshiz lol but yeah ganyuuuu
Just a heads for anyone that plays with high ping and is considering on pulling for Ganyu. You cannot chain charge attacks right away, when you release the charge shot you will have to wait for your ping to catch up before holding for the next charge shot otherwise the imput will be missed and you will be left there standing doing nothing or cursing the devs for not optimazing in the least for high ping users.
just live in the server

@@tatotato85 that is to say you suck at the game lol
never would've predicted ganyu would become a qol overworld unit lol
hyperbloom, dendro and our little archon of destruction made everything that is not them a little less valuable.
Side note about what zajef says here 5:10 there is no “first one” when it comes to the auras applied on the enemy. Some elements might react with 1 aura first while others will react with the other one first. There’s a reaction priority list not an element priority list!
16:40 Kirara seems to be a really good shielder for Ganyu, which means she finally has a good 4 stars shielder for her melt playstyle.
My god then i hope she comes in second half of 3.7!!
uhm I don't really look at 4* leaks nowadays to not get hyped for someone I'm never guaranteed. how does she compare to Baizhu? I mean, if we compare Baizhu to Thoma (weaker shield but good uptime cause it refreshes) but with heals, how thicc her shield is?
Yo quick question cuz you seem to be knowing what youre talking about. Does Layla mess up ganyu's reactions in the bun melt team
@@retrakor yes. burn only lets you run one pyro (if you go for layla) and it's not going to be enough. better off using Diona without her Q or Thoma
@@akwaMartyna nono i mean ganyu-nahida-benett + layla. does it mess up the effect thats the sole purpose of the burn-melt team?
cuz in the video zajef dempnstrates it with zhongli and diona
My Granyu freeze rotation:
Shenhe Q > tap E > Kazuha Q > hold E > Kokomi E > Ganyu Q > E > Charged shot > Shenhe tap E > Ganyu catch particles and Charged shot
Now you can do more charged shots, can try to refresh Kokomi E with her Q, apply Kazuha shred again, dodge, etc..

YES FINALLY! SOMEONE POSTING SOMETHING OTHER THAN STAR RAIL THANK YOU CHEF
I've been playing both games recently and it's been alright for me but I remember when Elden Ring came out and most youtubers I watched started posting about it...and I just wasn't that interested in it hehe
I know that feeling
I swear! They forgot about Genshin! 😢 And the new event is pretty cool, too.
it's so annoying (even though it's understandable)
He might not get an upgrade because it's a running meme. But you can donate to him to make it happen 😂
overworld comfort Ganyu is heavily underrated by who don't play with mouse/keyboard
actually the required charge time makes aiming even on controller pretty easy, since you have like 2 seconds to aim your shot each time.
The burn would have been a viable comp if it could make the enemies go "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA IT BURNSSSSS!!!!!!" just like any other RPG
IMO Ganyu still makes up the best and most meta freeze team against groupable enemies.
Ganyu, Venti, Kokomi and Ayaka against groupable enemies makes it so that Ganyu's Q, Ayaka's Q and Ganyu's normal attack hit every single enemy at once while Venti has his Q active, which wipes enemies faster than any other freeze team in the game.
yeah ayaka ganyu freeze is the best team dps against 3+ units. and even scales better against more units. theres dps sheet with gcsim calc for that.
I think Layla is a very good cryo unit for hyperfridge, especially with kuki since her shield CD lines up with kuki’s skill
She's probably better infact
@@よしみ-x5j nah kuki pulses every 1.5 seconds and you can make 2 seeds in that timing with fridge kokomi.. and more than 2 seeds are useless.. so nah xq not required.. & not really a downgrade
I think it depends on the content bc Ganyu does have 100% uptime and the option to use elegy, but Layla could be better in floors like this abyss 12-1 with the desert beasts who hit HARD
I'm just not sure how much cryo does Layla's shield apply(bc she doesn't have 100% uptime on burst I believe
Obviously if you compare to the hyperbloom teams where you only really farm a wtv deepwood and wtv amount of EM possible for the bloom trigger, its not as good and I'm not saying its on the same level, but to just out it as a team that just stuggles to clear abyss cycles is quite a fallacy
P/s: I think we gotta stop with the notion to group her teams as ones that don't have many variations.
Overworld ganyu is really really comfy. Just 2 charged shot from a teleporter, boom ez 10 primos baby, not even moving.
i was on stream yst and i asked about hyperfridge ganyu so i came back to this video for more info. i just wanted to say that DAMN your hair looks good here.
We need ask zajef barbara edition!!!!!
Oven with Ganyu makes short work of the entire second side of Abyss 12. Its lowkey pretty great.
Melt feels so bad and I don't have Venti for the ideal freeze team but hyperfridge Ganyu might actually make me use her. But i'm swimming in characters atm so thats unlikely. I do agree with Ganyu making the overworld more interesting. Shes really fun there.
I don't understand why they consider melt ganyu to be not good
When i do more than 200k with her charge + frost flake
So it's easily 1M rotation
Is 1M rotation became bad when I don't know 🌛💔
Or it's just about the energy issues
@@hamza-m557 most meta teams have like >1.4M damage per rotation without needing a shield for comfort. And if you can do 200k CA, then that's a high enough investment that, when applied to other meta teams, just further increase the gap between ganyu and other units
@@hamza-m557 I think they should say ganyu is not same level as top meta team. But she is still pretty decent. She has good aoe so even with less ST dmg she may kill multiple enemies faster. If you don't have zhongli she's more prone to interruption/dying than other dps, so she's not great against enemies that very hard like consecrated beast.
@@chronopolize_jp But you can cheese consecrated beasts with Freeze (even when factoring in their freeze resistance).
1) it's miliseconds, I don't think it will even get you one extra charged shot in the rotation if you do that, but from what I tried right now doing it ASAP works (I might be doing it wrong in general tho, I can't see with the ruin machines doing their things)
2) no, in general doesn't matter but you usually start with Nahida for longer Bennet uptime
I already have ganyu and she's my fav character so i know most of the things about her but zajef video so ofc i watch
It was really hard trying to make ganyu work in this abyss on any side but the hyperfridge team helped a lot!
yeah, the most insane thing was, that ganyu got compared to hu tao and xiangling and now shes just... meh. i currently find much success in the abyss playing hu tao/xingqiu/fischl/beidou. the team works without any healer or shielder because hu tao gets alot of i-frames, has high dmg resistance and her own burst healing with xingqius healing, xingqius dmg reductions + beidous dmg reduction and with beidous shield. you can easily get through the abyss with hu tao under 30% hp. it doesnt deal quite as much dmg as hu tao/xingqiu/yelan/xiangling does but its more safe to play, thanks to beidou and it has fischl, who is pretty usefull in abyss and overworld.
I've found my ganyu's current best playstyle as the second cryo in ayaka's team (fav bow, 4pc noblesse)
omega GIGACHAD editors buggo and sam as alaays absolutely amazing work ty Homi s
Something we can do if we really want to use melt Ganyu without a shielder is to get C6... in 10 years.
My f2p Ganyu-Nahida team happens to have Amos and her burn-melt deals over 500k in three charged shots (~7 sec). In addition, burn ticks around 2k per instance. Xianling is not even close. TY for the vid
Whats the exact comp?
against wenut I was doing 268k per shot with a burn melt team with r4 hamayumi

@@senbonkzakura7991 I consider consistent pyro swirl, not always you can double-swirl nowadays. Bonus cards differ too.
I dont really worry about double swirling anymore. as long as I swirl cryo every enemy is going to die
They say theyre trying hard to avoid powercreep yet here we are, the character who used to be a cryo dps queen got severely powercrept by another cryo dps. I guess powercreep doesnt apply only to Bennett Xingqiu Xiangling....
I've been playing hyperfridge Ayaka a lot more than freeze
It's a genuine part of why I rank Kazuha so incredibly high in spite of Sucrose being incredible, too.

i would say you still want to burst in melt ganyu.
It of course depends on how your investment looks

I like using charge shots in hyperfridge sometimes since it procs raiden
I agree. If I get ganyu, she's going to my hyperfridge team :)
Where can we submit "ask zajef" questions? I'm really curious how he would rank 5* constellations for late game F2P players. Nahida c2, Raiden c2, Hu Tao c1, Alhaitham c1, etc. Which ones are the most impactful to target, assuming you use all characters equally?
here they discuss the 5 star constellation topic > th-cam.com/video/A7xGp9MVPPg/w-d-xo.html
Nahida c2 is probably the best overall.
Ganyu main here :)
Her best team is by far Bennett, XL, Kazuha.
They do make resistant instead of immune to frozen...but it's on the Consecrated Beasts. And yes cleansing really seems forgotten on purpose
Impressive, very nice
i dont like how hes phrasing the melt ganyu team, makes it sound like u need whale level investment for her to be playable in abyss but i havent spent a dime on ganyu and ive been 36 staring abyss for almost a year now and always have ganyu in one half
Well, this is a man who actually does take 3s per Ganyu CA
All this for ganyu to be a better support than dps
As long as there's no elemental check, you have perfect exploration team, no need a healer, horizontal and vertical mobility, shield, and ore destroyer checked.
i thought baizhu was gonna be sick with ganyu melt but it really is kinda meh when i even think about it i dont even wanna try it lmao
no "FOR REX LAPIS" voiceline 😔
while baizhu is probably useless for ganyu, would love to see your testing on baizhu/nahida/dehya/ganyu in the future and see if it's just ok or not optimal.
Don't peek ganyu she got an AWP
Everything is better with Nahida.
Would Ganyu, Benny, xangling and Baizhu work? Or should i stick to Kazuha? I need Nahida on Alhaitham team
Am I on crack or does hyper fridge work phenomenally against consuck beasts
How do you know you messed up the timing and need to wait?
EDIT: so I watched the video and still do not really have a clue how Burn-Melt works. I'll probably just stick with Xiangling.
A team that I'm playing, and i cleared 36 star abyss with is ganyu, kazuha, furina and jean
And having jean in yhere make the whole abyss children play
good sludge thanks for the food
What's this Nahida, Xingqiu, Raiden, Ganyu team he's talking about?
38:40 Can't you just; let go of R and press it again? Isn't it the same thing as with M1?
Also, I like to use Ganyu in Air Fryer, quadratic scaling melts+burning, delicious. And I usually replace Zhongli in other BurnMelt teams with Kazuha to keep damage and Burning up.
I wanted her, but i want Kazuha and Zhong Li WAYYYY more, so... F...
Ganyu strapped with an awp
16:37
Full HP layla:
17:10 didnt mention layla as being a good defensive option is she just worse than dehya or was it an oversight
Because she has an awesome rear.
Which hydro character works in hyper-fridge, can Barbara works? I play Nahida, Raiden, Barbara, optional(kazu/ayaya)
Her ring off-field application is not good for hyperbloom, so you'll need to use her on-field as driver. Assuming you have no better options, that can still work.
I want zajef for Star Rail!
21 seconds after release? 3 likes already???
