I been inlove w Anne Marie Hurst since I was a child. I think she was the only girl I could ever fall inlove with!!! What an absolutely gorgeous voice!!!
I saw this band several times in the 80’s at the Mean Fiddler, Town and Country Club and the Astoria and a couple of other venues no longer in existence. Great band, I’ve still got a couple of their vinyl LP’s, nothing to play them on but thankfully you can pick it up on several streaming services.
The 2nd guitarist Richard Steel fucks up so often in this (1:09, 2:03 and 3:14 for just a few examples and this is only one song!!) and other live GD songs it's amazing they put up with it for so long
I don't have every show to examine but tbf to him this was Richard Steel's first gig with the band. Steve Smith was the guitarist before that and played his last gig with them like a week beforehand. They did audition another guitarist who was a friend of Steve Smith that had also played with Red Lorry, Yellow Lorry but I guess it didn't work out and Richard Steel got the gig. From what I was told they didn't feel he had the right look and turned him down initially but their other attempts to find a permanent guitarist after temp Steve Smith left to work on his own project had failed, so they called Richard Steel back to rehearsals.
I was lucky enough to see them live in 1986 at an ice rink, where they played an anti heroin gig which was an all dayer, also featuring The Godfathers, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, Roy Harper and New Model Army. It was one of the best gigs I ever attended.
80's gold. Very difficult to track their music down now, I have a mixture of some Cd and some Vinyl - I think i discivered them on an NME or Melody Maker cover give away. Never got to see them live (nor the sisters) sadly. :(
The colours fade Somewhere inside These shades of grey Were once black and white How many more have passed this way only to find What they were looking for disappear before their eyes Show me where the colours fly And disappear from view Paint the endless sky a deeper blue A deeper blue The colours fade Somewhere inside These shades of grey Were once black and white How many more have passed this way only to find What they were looking for disappear before their eyes Show me where the colours fly And disappear from view Paint the endless sky a deeper blue A deeper blue The colours fade Somewhere inside And the promise made In your eyes How many times have i heard these words before And how many times have i picked myself up off the floor But when i look into your eyes I know it's true Surrender to surprise A deeper blue A deeper blue Across the sea the great divide Through time i'll follow you Lost forever in your eyes A deeper blue A deeper blue, a deeper blue…
where's the bootleg with anne marie i think from the same show singing that slow "unreleased" song, it was fucking beautiful and the only video that the song was on was taken down. bring it back or help me find it why rob the world of that song wtf
+thegreatauk01 There is, you just have to look for it. Check out recent bands like Fangs on Fur, Christ vs Warhol, Masquerade, Totenwald, New Days Delay and of course not as new groups like Die Laughing, Diva Destruction or so many more out there.

Id rather have a guitarist mess up than have some lady shaking her rump to a backing track. 🎉
@2:10 those hips😍😍😍
Being born in 1991 it saddens me that I wasnt there to see them play.
I find their music very inspiring.
Bucky•JaKRBT same here with 1999
Yep saw em loads and met them all but hey every generation always misses the ones before so it's part of the magic!
Always better to be younger. Take it from me: having been around further back in the past is overrated.
Well, I know it's been seven years since your message, but... they're playing together again ;)
I saw them in like 2019
When you're just 30 in 2021 and you wish for more bands like this one

The colours fade
Somewhere inside
These shades of grey
Were once black and white
How many more have passed this way only to find
What they were looking for disappear before their eyes
Show me where the colours fly
And disappear from view
Paint the endless sky a deeper blue
A deeper blue
The colours fade
Somewhere inside
These shades of grey
Were once black and white
How many more have passed this way only to find
What they were looking for disappear before their eyes
Show me where the colours fly
And disappear from view
Paint the endless sky a deeper blue
A deeper blue
The colours fade
Somewhere inside
And the promise made
In your eyes
How many times have i heard these words before
And how many times have i picked myself up off the floor
But when i look into your eyes
I know it's true
Surrender to surprise
A deeper blue
A deeper blue
Across the sea the great divide
Through time i'll follow you
Lost forever in your eyes
A deeper blue
A deeper blue, a deeper blue…
