    Ghost Dance - Celebrate
    The most stylishly striking survivors to emerge from the fragmentation of the punk phenomenon were the gothic punks or Goths. A fascination with the world's dark side, classic horror and art meant the music was also the most eclectic amongst the post-punk movements. Goth embraced the harshness of the industrial movement, the primal rage of demented rockabilly, the ethereal quality of classical, theatre, experimental, dance and punk rock itself. From this unlikely mix a quasi art form was created and soon hordes of longhaired, androgynous, strangers dressed exclusively in black, were turning up at venues to watch a new kind of rock n roll hero.

    Saw them 8 times in 86/87. Massively underrated, just didn't get the breaks

    Amazing... surviving the test of times, letting us live one more day, through the mist and gaze... and yet surviving and not living, except for the these beautiful seconds...

    First band I ever saw live, Northampton Roadmenders 1988. I spent the gig drunkenly trying to figure out which one was Gary Marx from the Sisters!

    A bit rugged here but still, that's rock and roll...it ain't clean and pretty..well Anne Marie is pretty, but this is awesome! Gary Marx my guitar god..miss you, mate

      I agree Gary Marx was 'The Man' as guitarist with The Sisters Of Mercy for me. I Ghost Dance He's Awesome, very underrated in my opinion, He gets little credit as a songwriter in my view as well. It's Awesome seeing him again, he wasn't just a great guitar player, he was groovin' all over the stage, ''Look at Him Go! Great to Watch On Stage as well, no shoe-gazing for Gaz. Superb!''

    I'm mystified by people's posts here.....i remember this lot...Marx from the Sisters, but this must be embarrassing to watch for this lot now...its like teenage angst Goth....NOT impressed. But I guess having spent my teenage years through this time, things always seem different as an adult

    • @markammond8580
      @markammond8580 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Most teenagers are adults aren't they? able to marry, fight for their country and work, pay taxes, etc from 16. able to vote and be tried as an adult from 18. sexually active across the board from mid-teens and able to bilogically procreate from even earlier. most of us broaden our horizons and through experience transcend knowledge to wisdom (wise=knowledge+/x experience) but the adults we grow into are forming at 134,14 15. teenage angst is mostly our frustrations at being held back by parents, societal conformities and laws which we understand but are as yet unable to affect. if you were'nt an adult in your head at 15 you probably are a bit retarded. respectfully, Lee 23

      I know what you mean. I was a fan back in the day and also of Skeletal Family, but I have to say, being able to listen to it now objectively, Anne Marie had a terrible voice, great image though.
