Gonna give it one more crack, this time with Magnum small rifle primers, just to see if it makes any difference. And I can fireform the brass I made out of 223 brass, which should make it cycle better. One thing is clear though: case trim length is important. Anything even a little bit long can be a bit tight initially, particularly with the bigger pills. The smaller pills seem to be a little bit more forgiving. I’m probably going to finish up going with the smaller pills.
Have you tried the magnum primers yet with 2207 and 125gn pills for part 3. As I have a Howa mini action and I can not find information using the 2207 powder with the 125gn pills for the 300 blackout. I am ready to start reloading, but I'm waiting to see how you go with them. Any info would be great please. Thank you.
@@juils65 I’m actually testing some Vihtavouri powder with some 150 grainers soon. I inadvertently loaded with small rifle primers, so I loaded same loads with small magnum primers to see if there’s any appreciable difference. Also testing subsonics with the Vihtavouri and the 2207. Only using the small primers to make sure they stay subsonic. Should make for a couple of interesting videos. And the 150’s seem to hit harder in the supersonic loads.
I've got a howa mini action in 223rem and it's a bit ammo fussy to get tiny groups but it does with its favourite load. But you gotta work with what reloading components you can get your hands on at the moment, currently using 69grn match kings over adi benchmark 2 and fiocchi small rifle primers and they are all first time using them for me 🤣
Excellent results , those lighter projectiles shoot pretty well 👍

Yes this component famine can make things a bit difficult, but you just have to play the cards you’re dealt.
