    Problem 1
    The sum of two sides of triangle is greater than the third side.
    10 + 6 =16
    All the options satisfies the theorem.
    But all options are not right.
    Now we have to check with respect to the theorem below .
    Theorem ---
    The difference of two sides of a triangle is less than the third side.
    10-6=4
    Hence option 1/2/3 does not satisfy the theorem.
    10-6

    I looked at it & saw lines on a football pitch, A to B along the '10' side & A to B also along the '6' & 'x' sides with a little change of direction in the middle. if you ran those two paths, they'd take different amounts of time, so the total distance has to be greater than 10. only one answer makes that right.

      @@randyfust2304 that was my first thought. But since you don't have that, is there another way? And yes there is- with most of the possible answers, the 6 unit side and the suggested answer add up being shorter than the 10 unit side, so the figure CANNOT close, and one of them, the 6 and the 4, if you line them up as a single straight line, they exactly overlay the 10, making the exact same line, not a 2 dimensional figure..

    *Let's break down the answer for those who wish to understand this type of theorem better.*
    To find the value of 𝑥 in the given triangle, we can use the properties of triangles. Given that the triangle has sides of length 10, 6, and 𝑥, we should check if it forms a right triangle. If it is a right triangle, the Pythagorean theorem will apply:
    a² + b² = c²
    If we assume 𝑥 is one of the legs and 10 is the hypotenuse, we should apply the Pythagorean theorem correctly:
    10² = 6² + 𝑥 ²
    100 = 36 + 𝑥 ²
    100 - 36 = 𝑥 ²
    64 = 𝑥 ²
    𝑥 = √64
    𝑥 = 8
    Since this result is not one of the given options (2, 3, 4, 5), we'll use another configuration where 𝑥 is not the hypotenuse. Assuming the given triangle is not a right triangle, we will use the triangle inequality theorem:
    1. 𝑥 + 6 ≻ 10
    2. 𝑥 + 10 ≻ 6
    3. 6 + 10 ≻ 𝑥
    Solving these inequalities:
    1. 𝑥 ≻ 4
    2. 𝑥 ≻ -4 (always true for positive 𝑥)
    3. 16 ≻ 𝑥
    So, 4 ≺ 𝑥 ≺ 16. the only value among the given options that satisfies this range is:
    𝑥 = 5
    Therefore, the correct value for 𝑥 is 5.

  • @KM-gf8oy
    @KM-gf8oy 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Terrible horrible ridiculously bad explanation. 5 is not the solution. 5 is A Possible Solution. There is a huge difference. The heading says "Which is correct" It doesn't say which one might be correct. If you can't even state the question properly how in the heck are you going to do a logical solution? A much better way to teach math is to help students understand the logical path to arrive at a solution. For example: 4 x Y = 8 what is Y? You can solve for Y and get 2. He uses the rather abstract triangle inequality rule without an explanation as to why it makes sense. This might be hard to visualize but picture the long leg rotating clockwise stretching the length x if you can visualize that you can see that x can be a lot of different values. If you rotate the long leg all the way clockwise and make the triangle almost flat x approaches 4. It could be 4.0001 and you still have a triangle. Rotate the long leg the other way counterclockwise as far as it'll go. You have another very flat triangle and you could get as close as you wanted to 16. For example 15.999. so the actual solution to the problem can be any number less than 16 and greater than 4. The instructor didn't help you visualize that process. This will only confuse students but how to solve triangle problems again terribly done.

      He has stated the question differently (and correctly) in the video description, but you're absolutely right about the thumbnail image - the question in the thumbnail image is worded incorrectly.
      Not the first time this has happened with his videos...

    Dude. Just explain the solution for christ sake. You have a 10 minute video of blathering for a 10 second solution.

    You need to go back to drawing class. The proportions of the drawing do not support the answer.

      There's no reason to expect a diagram in a question like this to be drawn to scale. Indeed, it can be a good thing if the diagram is purposely NOT drawn to scale.
