  • This species is visually very similar to Archontophoenix alexandrae, yet a few distinct characteristics set it apart which I will discuss in a later comparison video. This species is highly underutilized in Florida landscape as well as many other subtropical areas around the world.

Archontophoenix is one of my favorite Genus of Palms. I have a 7 gallon & 3 gallon Archontophoenix alexandrae that both made through 26 & 27 degree freezes in January 2018! Another Awesome Palm Review Christian. 🌴

Hi David, Archontophoenix palms are my favourite too! Especially Myolensis. Were your Alexandrae palms protected from the cold? How much damage did they get at these temperatures?

Hi Christian, my favourite Archontophoenix is Myolensis! Which one do you think will do better in a protected 9B area: A. Maxima or A.Myolensis?

How old would you say that pay was? I have some 3-7 gallon size, hope to see them that tall one day

That Palm is probably less than 10 years of age.

They can grow VERY fast. I have one, with about two feet of clear trunk and a three foot crown shaft, that I planted about six years ago as a small one gallon.
