The role that Siskel is talking about for MJ is the one that Lebron eventually played in Trainwreck. He's the best friend of the main character, and essentially plays a slightly exaggerated version of himself. Just like Jordan in Space Jam, Lebron knocked that role out of the park as well because they essentially played themselves.
Yeah and Bugs Bunny wouldn’t have enlisted Michael Jordan’s help against the Monstars. He would have used his cartoon comedic skills to take out the whole team. For example the short “Baseball Bugs” where he single handily beat an entire team of huge roid up ball players. Space Jam isn’t known for being faithful to the classic Looney Tunes characters.

Two of america's most beloved critics genuinely liked this movie. Why? Because they recognized it for what it WAS: a FUN CARTOON. So many "film experts" on twitter and youtube seem to think that a movie, even a dumb, kid's sports movie, has to be a cinematic experience to be well liked (this is probably Disney and, more specifically, pixar's fault). People saying that Space Jam "doesn't hold up" don't realize it wasn't really meant to. I like Disney and Pixar, but I also recognize that kids are going to like a fun movie, regardless of how well it holds up to the adults.
Brandon Kohout Space Jam is a movie that only appeals to 90’s kids because of their nostalgia watching it growing up. If you would rewatch as an adult, you’d realize it’s not a very good movie.
