@@maxmclinden5933another question. I just think I fouled another plug by leaving my 2001 rm250 idle for too long- I just rebuilt the engine on it and got it started, fine tuned the carb to get it to idle properly without a problem. I revved the bike up- drained the oil to be safe. And clean Started the bike up again and I wanted to cycle the oil through and just have it idle clean. Bike shutoff and didn’t sound bad just stopped idling- went to kick it like 20 times and it wasn’t starting so I believe it’s the plug. ??? Anything
@@DirtBikeDocs how much oil are u mixing in your 2 stroke ? Make sure you use good 2stroke oil mixed with the fuel. It’s hard to tell a fouled plug because compression can change the way the spark jumps I would go through your basic checks Check your fuel Check your compression Buy a new plug, some times the porcelain inside the plugs can be cracked from manufacturer error no amount of heat will fix this So just to rule it out buy a new plug. Remember fuel, spark, compression. If you have all 3 you get bang. If you are fouling plugs it’s likely because of 2 reasons A to much oil in your fuel Or the plug heat range is not correct. Meaning the plug is not getting hot enough to burn off the oil residue Heat range on plugs can get a little confusing as the way they read it is backwards Make sure your using the correct plug heat range for the compression and fuel your running If it’s standard just use the recommended plug by the manufacturer and u should be fine. Let me know if your solve it 💪💪 good luck !
You should see what some know-nothing-of-wankel used car sales guys up near the Canadian border do to RX8 plugs. After pulling them, on the lot, and charging the battery after they cranked it dead, for the _third time_ , it got dealer traded away, a former "mechanic" claimed it had no compression, and said it needed an engine, I should have said "Yep !" and offered 50 cents on the dollar for it, instead of telling them I've owned a few, and worked in plenty of RX models in my career, and was sure I could get it running, if it ran when parked. Oh well.....
been going through 2 spark plugs a week on my old KE100, this just saved my wallet. THANK YOU!
No problem stay tuned for more :)
came here because of a KE100!
Thank you Josh! I had a fouled spark plug and tried what you show and that really work's! 👍
@@Mxbuzz your welcome, and yeah it works with all plugs :)
I have been using brake cleaner to clean the plugs but this looks like a much more thorough method. Thanks!
It makes them like new
How about surface discharge plugs often used in 2 strokes
Yup works for all plugs
Does it work on iridium spark plugs too?
Yes should be fine yes
I would not take a chance doing that to my copper core racing plugs. Does that make since to anyone? Thx
If they are fouling there is nothing to really lose to try it ?
What about iridium spark plugs?
@@wadewilson-xi1zs same for all spark plugs
By leaving the gas on is that a way to foul a plug
Sorry I’m
Not sure I understand your question
No, leaving the fuel on will not foul a spark plug
