It has one, try Heady Metals Revenge, might be a fan MOD but I find it on par with the original in quality.

It's not that difficult after all. I just can't finish this quick. This guy is an amazing player. But, I used to do the oposite of him - instead of trying to be this quick, I used to explored the levels as much as I could, and acumulate as many lives that i could, and just then I finished it....

I spent more than 6 hours to beat it, searching for continues and lives, praying to be fast enough before the timer goes out... Man, that game is PURE awesomeness ! ( Final Marathon almost killed me... )
What was the best ? Paying 100 bucks for a Sonic that you finish in 1 hour ? Or for the same price, a similar game that you'll never finish if you don't train ? :3

this game wants to be like a Mario game in the worst way but it suffers from 1 major problem 103 levels and no saves granted you can fight the final boss after stage 2 but he's hard to beat regardless

it's unbelievable I managed to reach the end at such a speed, that's what I call a Quick Professional
lol I beat this game when I was 9, I had to leave my sega on for days and I had to make sure I hit every single box and kill every single enemy.... ahhh man good stuff.

There was a Skycutter helmet in Hills of the Warrior 1? Didn't know that. I've been trying to survive that wall.
Although this tool-assisted run is far from a realistic depiction of how the game actually plays, it does give a pretty clear view of the incredible depth and complexity of this game. It's been years since I played it, but I still remember the feeling of extreme relief when I finally beat it.

It's tool-assisted play. Basically, the game is played in (super)slow-motion with save states and a recording is made of the button presses. Then after you're done you just let it play and make a video recording of it or whatever.
It's not direct human skill, but it does take a lot of time, patience, perseverence, planning/research and discussion to make these.

It clearly states at the beginning that it was done by a computer.
On the TAS videos site, it states that warps that revisit/backtrack to already visited levels are not required.

First off it's a TAS, so basically anybody can do this with enough time. Secondly, he gets hit to save time by avoiding the no hit bonus.
Man, you're the best, I never saw something like that. How did you remember every detail of each level? Each teleport, every box. You knew exactly where to go. You can only have a photographic memory. Very very good. One of the best videos done quick game I've ever seen.
you could have just completed it in like 3 minutes if you did the warp back on the first level

No, that's exactly what I did as a kid!!! I always played games until they were too hard, then I just gave up! I beat maybe 5 games in the Genesis era. Now with save points I always finish a game! I think your logic may be faulty sir! I especially gave up on this game! I beat maybe 5 or 6 levels, then I just gave up and played Sonic 3 and Knuckles because you could save!

i worked on a tas of this back in 2004-05 that tried to do the same thing as this one. only made it to first boss before i got sick of it, i think. didn't know about that hoverboard at 3:55 haha

I understand this, but this game just proves itself as a gamer's nightmare; It takes him this long to beat it, getting record-like time bonuses.

I loved the part : hill of the warrior, hONETLYS first time i played it years ago on my MD-SEGA, I managed to get all possible bonuses- even -NO MASK ofc!!! And I like u're style with the - SCOOTER!!!(u know what I mean right) But honestly I was stucked on that LEVEL like the CRYSTAL CRAGS type... where U have to choose between- WHIRLWIND and THE SCOOTER.... so I never beat the game :( .... well once I used the code :P for WARPING on the last boss- PLETHORA!!!

What part of "beat in a weekend" would include long RPGs? I play those games too and I wasn't talking about them. I was replying to Turbofuss saying Kid Chameleon is "too hard wah" and has too many levels. Which is ridiculous. Games back then weren't made to appeal to the lazy. They were made to challenge you and give you your money's worth.

at 12:10 always go the way he does and I go to the death trap where ur in a marsh and the wall of tools is chasing you and that's where ive never gotten to the final boss. AND IVE BEEN PLAYING FOR 15 YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!
Bullshit. If you couldn't beat the game then you at least had fun trying and getting as far as you could. I'd rather have a game that's fun and challenging than a game that I can beat in a weekend and then never play again.
In good ... took me to reset this fucking game, even if it was serious about 2 years, played straight catching practice with masks. But anyway this is one of the best games I've ever played in my life. : D

If you just stand still for a single frame or so and save then there will not be any noticeable difference if you load it etc. You simply do not notice the one of the 25 or even 30 frames per second.
@punchbowlhaircut Kids back in the day played until they got good at a game. They didn't play it until it became mildly difficult then cry, quit, and find a different game like now days.

Its a very good game and a good run but is made with an emulator and a slow frame for frame tool so, is not valid in the world records but is fun to see. Nice vid

Yea, which is why only some are ever able to beat it. Games back in the day weren't made to hold your hand and make sure ANYONE could get to the end.
Making a complete mockery of everything I tried to do as a kid. I got up to the levels around 9 minutes... in about 5 hours, then the game froze.

não, hueuheu isso é um TAS, é um Speedrun, a pessoa que gravou isso teve o auxílio de programas especiais que diminuem a velocidade do jogo transformando o "gameplay" lento num arquivo de vídeo.
@fireindigital My dad beat the game on the Genesis & I can fairly close when I was like 10. I was able to beat it on save states.
this game is proof that it doesn't take a lot for a platform game to be better than mario.

he can't because it's tool assisted, means its literally played by advancing single frames in an emulator and rewinding if something doesn't go perfect. you can't do that on a real console.
Fun fact, he mostly gets hit because it saves time on the score screen since he doesn't get a no hit bonus ^^

But bro, I am impressed on how u made it through so many levels like that LoLz. I made it through like mad levels with Cyclone (which is one of my favorite characters, btw), but I NEVER once knew that Skycutter could do just as good a job as Cyclone LoLz. *thinks for a minute* hmm......*sucks teeth* I think I may use him in the game sometime
