Hey guys, The point you made at 1:40 and 1:50 echoes with the point you made about TBT Cenozoic Compressor in an earlier video, From a developers standpoint who know what it takes to 'square that circle' [pardon the pun] - regarding the price. I love Softube but they can jog the f*** on mate...who am I ...Drake???
It’s a line-by-line code port of the hardware unit that costs £10k, so contextually it’s not a bad price at all. If you were maybe a mastering engineer who was just starting out and looking to get paid for those services, it would probably pay to skip the part where you buy 10 or so bang-average software compressors & limiters through trial and error (we’ve all been there, right?!), and just get this.
For sure. But think about the example I gave - it’s a low risk way of adding a top-class mastering processor to your toolkit. You’d get a return on your investment after a few paid jobs. You wouldn’t have to fork out the price of a small car for the hardware. And there would be no tangible benefit to having the hardware other than maybe its shelf-life, since this is a 1:1, line-by-line code port of the hardware so shouldn’t in theory perform any differently. I think this is a really interesting and unique plugin, but for quite a small demographic of customers, which consequently is why the majority of people think the price point is ridiculous.
@@scuzz4321 it's available for $15/month now, so there's no longer any elitism associated with owning it. Plugin ownership is dramatic losing its benefits and value.

The other 2 are definitely worth a look and about the same price as the MM-1 in the sale.
I bought it during a big sale - I feel your criticism of the price is unfair. This isn’t an emulation that sounds 90% like an expensive, famous piece of audio hardware. It is an exact 1:1 copy. As mentioned, I did get it during a major sale, and I’ve never run across a limiter or maximizer as smooth and transparent, and as LOUD as the Weiss products. Softube generously lets you try out the product for 14 days before purchasing. It is pricy but it’s reasonable since it’s an exact copy of a very expensive piece of hardware. Wait for a deal, but Weiss is my favourite by far to get a master loud.
Glad you love it… it is good if you can get it in a sale. But it is software and at full price it is way too expensive! Just don’t expect it to hold value like the investment in hardware can. In 10 years you can sell the hardware but the plugin will probably be worth nothing…💁
