Sorry hope you can help ...I recently moved into a newly renovated house. I was cleaning the window edges with a baby wipe and noticed it was extremely black and shiny. I then realised it was all over the in windows, a metallic grey/black coating coming off on the wipe. I’ve looked it up but I’m not sure what it is, is this E coating and should it come off with just a baby wipe?
that does sound like a factory coating on the inside surface. Although that is not the best surface for it, we do see that some times in single pane glass. You may want to have a window guy, or a window film company come out to have a look and verify it is a factory coating vs a window film.
Funny, I'd like to buy a roll of this stuff, but it seems to be made from unobtanium and nobody wants to give me a part number for it or sell it to me.
Be prepared ! I finally got a quote and it’s more expensive than buying new windows. I have 9.5’ tall by 6.5’ wide windows on my south facing side of my house. Over 1000$ per window for the film

Will it block wifi, EMF & RF radiation? I am trying to make my home & vehicle radiation free.
No, low-E film will still allow radiation to pass to some degree.
Works for Houston texas where goes to 100 f?
Yes, Window film can help in any environment. More Window film is installed in the sun belt that in colder climates for sure.
Sure, but good luck getting any.
