Really informative video 👍 I've got reflective installed and it blocks loads of heat, another plus point is I can move the bird table close to the house, and the birds can't see any movement through the big window, so they come really close.
At about 12:00 time, you discuss the lower solar transmission of the reflective (metallic) versus the ceramic. Yes, the solar transmission (IR) is less with the reflective, however the ceramic adds another benefit, it reduces heat "conduction" better than the reflective film. So even at night if it is 90 degrees outside and 72 inside, the ceramic fill will slow down heat gain.
Can you please help me I’m looking for privacy in the day and night I want to be able to see outside but at night when the light is on I don’t want people to look inside I will like to see if I can sent the measures and just have it cut already
I found that applying film to the interior pane of a double glazed unit, the window surface got very hot inside as the air gap temperature rose (windows in danger of exploding scenario). By applying it outside, this didn't happen. Also, using a knife to cut the edges increases risk of glass exploding if scored significantly. Best to remove glazing beading, applying and then put the beading back. That way there will be no edge to trim. Doesn't seem to matter which way round it is applied as regarding to the mirror effect.
Hello, I'd like to know what is the right way to install the film to reduce the heath, on the inside or the outside, specially if we're talking about skilights?
I love this video and I have a question (hopefully someone can help). I need a little more privacy from my balcony view and I wanted to get one way view (mirror foil). Is the foil difficult to take off? Once I decide to move can I take them off?
Is ceramic the only only one you can purchase to still be able to see out your windows from the inside at night? I had the mirror reflective added to a few windows in my house, but I can’t see out those windows now at night.
I have neighbors who are harassing by paintballing our windows and the neighbors around us just because they can. Do you have something that black out them from day and night but I can still look outside my window?
nice video! i wonder if there's a film that gives you complete privacy during day & night yet still let the sunlight go in during the day? is there such thing as dual reflective window film?
Can you tell me what kind of clear ceramic film you guys use? I do not live anywhere near Houston, TX, so I can't exactly hire you for your services. But I'm surely interested in what kind of products you use.
what do you recommend if i prefer to run around free letting it hang? my neighbors hate freedom and have called the cops on me a couple of times now.. but i prefer the nice sunlight
The trouble is all of these will block UV, and that is something your plants need. What you may want to do is get a privacy film, and get a UV bulb for your plants. They have several different kinds of of lamps and even bulb colors in some cases so you would have to just look into what you would like best.
a little bit, you don't notice it much on sunny days, I find the sky looks nicer with the clouds looking more defined, dull weather in the winter months tends to be more noticable in light reduction.
I'm looking for the same thing, and unfortunately it seems like that doesn't exist, endless you don't want to be able to see out the window. There are "white out" or "black out" films but you cannot see through them.
Awesome video and details, thank you. Are reflective film (aka mirror tint that blocks the heat 70% reduction) applicable from the outside of the window? My office building have three 4' x 8' skylight and it gets really hot. It has very high celling too (approximately 30 feet) and applying from the inside will be almost impossible task. I would really appreciate your expertise on this matter. Thanks!
Is the only option for clear mirror film (I don't care about strengthening anything) the security film? I don't want tinting, just want to be able to see out my window and still have privacy. Thnx!
is there any kind of tint that indoors can see outside but not the opposite! (outside cannot see inside) i been searching all around and couldn't find any!
What brand would you suggest if I want reflective film to keep heat out. Because during summer months, my 2 daughters room is not usable during the day. Do you have any suggestion?
I have perforated screens on my business windows but outside customers can still see inside at night: which tint do recommend for inside windows so I can see outside but customers can not see inside. Thanks
Hi, very informative video. I have a question. I live in tropical area (hot and humid throughout the year). I would like to buy reflective film (aka mirror tint). I am interested to buy the reflective film like in the video (at time 10:55). Can I know the specification of the reflective film shown (the VLT, TSER, SHGC and U-value)? Thanks a lot!
Good information. Suggestion: Write out your video scrip. Edit out anything that's not needed or redundant. This presentation could easily be cut to 6 minutes without loosing any important information.
Where can I buy these films? I know Amazon has them but what manufacture company do you recommend? I want to do this to my home minus the cost of an installer. Thank you

Ok crazy question...my daughter has a cat and she plans to move into an apartment not allowing pets. What film is good for both day and night privacy? She wants the cat to be able to see out the window during the day and night without being detected from the street.
I have the same problem, I would like to know if there is a window film that provides privacy during the day and night yet still see clearly outside. My cats love looking out the window even during night time.
What if I want a reflective privacy film but I want to let the heat in - is there options for that? Where I live its cold. I still want to block harmful UV rays though.
Great presentation skills and very informative. I would also love to see the various films being tested for UV blocking and the different kinds of UV being blocked. I'm most interested in the security films that also have great UV blocking properties, not too concerned about heat shielding or privacy. Thank you!
Good evening, I have a question and I hope you can help me. I'm looking for a privacy film and I see a lot of colors so I wonder if the tinted color will change the color of the light coming from the sun trough my window.
I just installed the blue tint mirror film this week, and yes it changes the color of the light coming in just a bit. I love the color and it feels much cooler. From the outside it’s like a mirror so the privacy during the day is perfect.
@@IcarusMK22 Thank you kindly, That helps me a lot. The light that enters in my room is cold, mainly because I'm surrounded by tall buildings so I'm thinking that maybe the golden color helps me to get a more warm light. Thanks again.

wait , whaaaaat ? i hadn't considered any danger with adding films to my windows.. how do i know if i have a "double glazed unit" ?
Also one wouldn't need thermal insulation film on double glazed windows. Double glaze is designed to be energy efficient

Hello, I'd like to know what is the right way to install the film to reduce the heath, on the inside or the outside, specially if we're talking about skilights?

Can you get a ceramic tint that is it clear for example, ceramic tint, that block sunlight as well?
do any of these films keep the heat in during winter? I think I might be reliant on UV rays to keep my apartment warm.
1) Are they safe to use on dualpane windows? (will it damage them?)
2) Is installation available in Southern California?
Question, can these films be installed on the outside of the widow vs inside? Doubled paned windows seems would be better installed outside.
