Your views and your thinking towards motorcycle is just awesome... From various perspective you look into this things... This attitude helps a lot in the hurdles of life...
I've been riding an RE Classic 350 for 5 years and bought the Dominar last year. Honestly, I just can't complain about the vibrations. It's much less compared to my Classic.
00:57 Massive respect brother. Thanks for saying that, because the whole "VFM" idea creates a mental block and bias that makes people go for choices that they regret for a long time
I had a hard time selecting bikes recently amongst Dominar 400, TB350, Apache 310, CBR 250R 2018. @Strell: it was ur videos and my own experience combined which helped me choose the correct machine for myself. All bikes are amazing with there own advantages and disadvantages but it was the CBR which worked out for me given the package it offers even though being an old model. No offence to any above bikes, ride safe and enjoy!! Cheers.
I am yet to chose bike between Dominar 400 & CBR 250, Dominar looks amazing & has got the power but it is it's vibes which is turning me towards CBR 250 which has got the refinement though it looks old and is less powerful..
I love my 2018 mat black dominar with golden alloy wheels. I got delivered on the past thursday. I am really satisfied with the performance the beast delivered to me. The pick up of the bike is phenomenal. At last I am a proud owner of my mat black beast. 😘😘😘
Tech Prady but that vfm quotient of this bike is the reason for the small comprises that Bajaj has made...in fact that's the reason why Bajaj motorcycles have a slight compromise over the quality over the Japanese counterparts.
Bro today I booked the dominar & tomorrow I going to take delivery. I am very happy to see your touring review b'cause I am planning for Leh trip& etc,.. .. And please do a video about riding/safety gears.
I have done 1k km on my Dominar n cruise on 100km speed on average, my bike is refined in this speed didn't experience any annoying vibration, may be since I have been on a classic 350 since 3 years has made go soft on nagging girlly vibrations of a Dominar, but, still I Love my Classic 350 👍
as u said need that comparison.. CBR250R, D400, RR310 TVS.. EXHAUSTIVE covering every minor and major aspect. also may add tvs rtr200 4v dual ABS Slipperclutch, as I belovw all have touring and range of reliability.
Bro dont think I'm blaming but just to clarify how much kms has your bike done because after the 5000 km service my cousins bike felt way better especially the vibration you told went away drastically. Also at higher crushing speeds from 110 you won't feel bad there is the buss between 4500 to 5500 rpm if you maintain above that it'll fade away... It was my personal experience bro that's all. I've done Bangalore to Chennai trip 3 times and I loved the bike for its amazing touring capacity at high speed. Loved your video bro always keep your honest opinions 👍
Nice review Strell, u have covered all points and I also agree with them , only thing I noticed is the vibration is in 4-5k band or around 90-100 KMPH speed. Over 110 it's really smooth and I can do 120-130 all day long without fatigue with a pillion.
Bro the way you present the matter.......good and bad points....it's really hard to hate your videos.........I luv this bike...but we have to realise tat no bike or car is perfect....even an H2 have some limitations......so it all matters on what we want from the bike by compromising on things we don't require.......kudos from thrissur
I personally use a dominar for the past 1 yr and ridden almost 19k km ... well there are ways to eliminate the vibes ... I am using addinol engine oil .. and the the vibes just disappeared ..and an unbelievable milage very happy with the motorcycle .. ( not specifying the milage because no one is going to believe )
govind k what is the mileage of this bike? And what is the overall range of this Bike's 13tr fuel tank ? How far can you go with a full tank? How many kilometres?
Thanks for the comprehensive pros & cons. Waiting for your D400, 310RR &CBR comparo as I am juggling between D400 and 310RR. My sore points being vibrations and quality of service by D400 and the 80000Rs premium I pay for 310RR
Sure bro. I havnt shot that comparison yet. It will take little bit of more time. If you have any specific questions, just ping me over my facebook or instagram.
Abs version cost 2.03 lac in bangalore. Are u taking about the non abs one? And the vibes stays from 4 to 5k rpm. then its completely gone. as owner of 2018dominar its my pov.
What would you suggest between Dominar and Yamaha Fz25 for city usage. I already have a himalayan for highways, and for the city, my initial option was the Duke 390 Second hand for about 1.2 to 1.5L
When Dominar first announced in my country. I know we are in for a treat. I even thought of trading in my Z250 to get Dominar. I change my mind after test riding it. Dominar is a great bike without any doubt. The looks, the specs and everything. However, as a touring machine, vibration is really bad on long run. I can only say... If I don't have my z250, I'll get Dominar. If price is not a concern, Dominar wouldn't be a good choice for touring. The vibration is really bad even when idling at traffic light.
Strell what should be the ideal body posture while doing long distance touring on motorcycles. Of late i am having pain on my cervical neck bone while cruising for long long hours. Is my choice of bike not correct (apache 200 4v /ktm rc 390) or something is wrong with my posture. What should be the actual body posture to prevent neck and spine muscles injury or fatigue?
I got a dominar 400 2017 and i cannot cross more than 50 because of the vibration on seat, handlebar, and pillion seat, so i have to take a brake ever 45min, any suggestions to reduce the vibration. pls help
I wanna buy a camera for my bike as well... My budget is not so high but i need a good camera on which i can record audio and video as good as yours. If you could help me out it would be great.
Strell.. What a perfect set of review, simply amazing.. Trust me the detailed review of a bike on the beautiful open highway with real time scenarios.. just spot on..what more I could expect.. I can actually see and experience all the pros and cons of the bike.. Superb..👍👍 Thank for making such nice review.. I was completely synced from start to end..🏍🏍
Awesome review buddy.... I started watching your video quite a while back and I like the way you explain things. Keep up the good work buddy. And that trimmer example was quite hilarious 😂😂
Nice way to put it across keeping the vfm aside. As u said the moment u add vfm proposiotion to this equation the bike seems very good. Being a bajaj bike user myself, i hate the vibes and lack of refinement tht the company provides. And off late i have thought of compromising on power to quality which any Japanese bike provides. And i have learnt the lesson hard way to not think of power to money ratio rather think of quality (reliability/durability) to money ratio. And tell me one thing, what way ur cbr is bad? it can also do 0 to 100 at around 8.5 sec being a 250cc, has more confort, relaible, frugal, can also do top speeds of 150+...wht else u want.?
i would like to mention one point as i am a dominar owner the 2018 version that i am also coming from a bajaj discover 100cc and the vibes that dominar has is nothing what i use to get from my discover...even at high rpm it doesn't vibrate like crazy...and whatever bike you have you will get use to it...sooo in sometime you won't be feeling that vibes.
Karn Mishra yes why not..dominar is powerful bike but the pickup is very smooth...but you have to be careful with the accelerator on the gravels and slippery roads beacause the rear tyres do loose grip very easily and yes its weight can be an issue.
I recently got my Dominar serviced and updated the ecu. After the update there is so much power lag in the power band. It doesn’t give the power that I need now. Anybody else experiencing this issue ?
Swapnil Jain 200cc version of dominar is just a rumour.. forget it,..... I have to mention that Bajaj claims that dominar performs more n more good after 10000kms engine oil change.. yes, that happened with my dominar .. its been 3weeks engine oil changed(3rd servicing) the vibrations became so low than wt u expect it to be.. the vibrations are 10+ times lower than before 3rd service.. as I said this doesn't bother u at all.. Simple.. if u look for VFM and smooth power delivery and city ride/commute then dominar stands top on the list If u want fun, more power , more ease in ride then Duke 390 stands top on the list If money and mileage are the primary factors for you then consider ns200..

Everyone is so much concerned about the vibrations on dominar actually it is neglible .. in no time u will forget about that.. Yes there will be a buzz on the right side of handle bar (my observation) which irritate u in initial days but after first 3 regular services the vibrations fall down as lower as 10 times ..after 10k kms u r suggested to change the engine oil by Bajaj and after that u will feel considerable change in terms performance and very very low vibrations
You're becoming like Marvel movies 😂 Giving Cliffhangers at the end 😂 Btw very nice and clean work... I really liked that smooth exhaust note at the end. I liked the way you described with "the value for money" and without it.

What gears are you using??
Nice review Strell, u have covered all points and I also agree with them , only thing I noticed is the vibration is in 4-5k band or around 90-100 KMPH speed.

Which motorcycle do you like the most among these three in terms of usability and long rides (dominar, rr310 & cbr)?
Dominar. Because of its agility in city riding conditions and all rounder capability.

Sachin John I've ridden my uncle's old Bajaj Boxer for about a year now, will I be able to handle Dominar? I'm 19.

I recently got my Dominar serviced and updated the ecu. After the update there is so much power lag in the power band. It doesn’t give the power that I need now. Anybody else experiencing this issue ?
How's the turn radius on Dominar?
I'll be using this mainly for city commute. Is it okay for that?
It's not bad. But not the best. Other bikes KTM is much easy to ride around in the city.
Strell hmmm, any idea when the 200cc version is releasing? Mileage and high power band vibration cuts the chord for me.
Swapnil Jain 200cc version of dominar is just a rumour.. forget it,.....
First, I purchased dominar on 29th sept 2017 and I recently finished 11,000 kms on this machine - went for 6 tours so far(each 500 km range+)
And for your concern about high band power vibration - yes it will be there but that's neglible as in u will feel the power and the ease in driving this machine ..
Simple.. if u look for VFM and smooth power delivery and city ride/commute then dominar stands top on the list
If u want fun, more power , more ease in ride then Duke 390 stands top on the list
If money and mileage are the primary factors for you then consider ns200..
I liked the Highway you are travelling can you share the location from one destination to other...
Nice ring road Bangalore
What about pillion seat comfort ...say RE Thunderbird vs Dominar ( or Bullet 500 vs Dominar ).
When compared to enfileds, Dominar has a better pillion comfort. (Plus considering the cruise speed this maintain.)
Which pillion back rest are you using? And does that serve the purpose?
Carbon racing. Yes it's good.
For pillion comfort would you choose cbr 250 over dominar?
Fz25 engine is superb for touring if we satisfy with 100-120 speed.
Sahi bole..... Fz 250 best
Abs is not a matter for a good rider, we can set aux lights for lighting....but in dominar we cant adjust engine vibrations
.engine smoothness is the prime thing for a tourer.

In my city 1,36,800 Rs
Abhishek N do onething...u buy dominar and feel its vibs...enjoy...
What do u do @strell
How are your alloys black ? The 2018 ones had golden
TILAK RAJ K SHETTY he mentioned it in a couple of other videos... he switched wheels with an older white dominar
Brother you told me that you'll upload a video on shifting of gears, please upload that video
Hlo sir video and the thumbnail is awsm you are fab love u😍😍😍
Everyone is so much concerned about the vibrations on dominar actually it is neglible .. in no time u will forget about that..
Yes there will be a buzz on the right side of handle bar (my observation) which irritate u in initial days but after first 3 regular services the vibrations fall down as lower as 10 times
..after 10k kms u r suggested to change the engine oil by Bajaj and after that u will feel considerable change in terms performance and very very low vibrations
Thanks for sharing your experience :)

What about Fuel economy bro
Can we install a cafe racer headlight on this bike....please answer.
A good mechanic could do that for you. Nothing blocks as such 😊
Can you please suggest me good helmet, glove, jacket?? (having budget of around 10k for all three) mainly using for touring purpose..
Please raise your budget to 12k so that you could buy standard products.
Helmet = Any helmet which has double D clips
Jacket = Spartan, Rynox
Gloves = Anything which fits your and has good protection.
Is there a white color version of dominar 2018.?
abhijith H no man........there are only 3 color options.......red ,matte black, and blue all with golden alloys
😑😑White was awesome
Superb video bro.... loved it great job
Bro I own duke 200 can I install ABS in that...?
ravi reddy no... Abs requires multiple testings in a controlled environment for correct calibration of the whole system. If you really want to have it , check with reputed firms like Bosch. Don't get it done in a back alley store, you will do more harm than good
You could use the same ABS system in Duke 390. It does requires ABS calibration, which will pump the cost of installation.
