If there were only one song that I was able to listen to until the day that I died, this would be it. To be able to experience so many emotions through one piece of music - truly beautiful.
I just love how he closes his eyes and plays so effortlessly, yet with so much passion and emotion. He's one of my favorite violinists. If I will ever be able to play just half as good as he does, I will be the happiest person.
While known for his great piano compositions, Chopin often wrote his music in great consideration of the female soprano voice. The violin the the closest instrument by many account to the female voice. No wonder this nocturne came out so great! And of course having Itzhak Perlman performing this on his Stradivarius makes this awesomely great.
Only a person who only talked with thier violin about his sorrows, happy monents, secrets, pains and dreams and cried and laughed with it for all their life gets to this point where his playing is the sound form of emotions and as free as dreams that can fly freely, and lightly like a bird.
Mr Perlmann is such a gorgeous violine player.. Every single Note has so much beauty and emotion..breathtaking.. Humans are capable of so much beauty.. But on the other hand to do so much suffering.. Mr Perlmann an his playing makes this world a little bit nicer! Thank u
Here It´s past 10pm now and my little daughter is already sleeping and my wife is watching some series on TV. Before going to bed, I´m enjoying my good old Glendfiddich single malt and listening to this masterpiece. What else could I ask for? Sublime beauty
I love it! Maestro Itzhak Perlman is together wonderful violonist.... Thank you Maestro for Chopin....Hy is my favorite violinist and i like very very much Maestro ITZHAK PERLMAN 🎻🌹❤️
Makes you wonder how many extraordinarily talented Perlman's were removed from Europe in the 30's/40's. Profound catastrophe. Chopin/Perlman, nothing compares.
I am not one of those who think everything Perlman does is perfect. Having said that, I think this particular piece is perfect! Wonderful! Bravo! Love the quick shot of Ron and Nancy in the background. This is a genuine "historical document"!
This is the third classical music I listened today it suddenly made all my nerves soothed. I closed my eyes and imagined a big dragon with wings, who lands on water and the white belly became the body of a boat, the wings became a sail. Then I saw a bouquet of red roses, which was doubled and tripled, then formed a trail of roses with elegant path evolving on the green field, all the way to the mountain top. I saw a dancer swings and swirls with beautiful poses, skating away in curves and circles with the music. Then the music finished and my eyes are brighter and minds clearer. How amazing!
Does anyone know if he ever did a recording of this? This is stunning, it works so well with a violin. A whole album of Chopin's Nocturnes, transcribed for violin & piano, with Perlman, would quite possibly be the greatest thing I've ever heard.
The melodic sadness in a nocturne, combine with the romantic ideas of Frederick Chopin, truly brings out how romantical disappointment can lead to great music.
Another example: "Mein Gemüt ist mir verwirret" ("My Mind is Confused"), a 17th-century song by Hans Leo Hassler of extreme heartbreak in love, became a Lutheran hymn or chorale ("O Haupt voll Blut und Wunden" ("O Head full of Blood and Wounds") sung during the Lenten period commemorating Christ's Passion, and used in several sections of the Matthäus Passion/St. Matthew Passion by J.S. Bach.
It is funny how the chanel is named Nodame. To you who dont know, Nodame its a character from Nodame Cantabile anime series. Extra info: cantabile is used when someone is playing an instrument and yet it sounds like the person is singing.
Two things we should have keep in mind first have to thank Nathan Milstein who compiled it to violin solo piece Second intension make a minor start. ended with a C sharp major up grade the music with hope and satisfy
This is what I would have hoped for from other artists! Those virtuosic runs always get slowed down too much -- but not Perlman! He follows through as was likely intended.
Crazy how I came across this song from a Ted video speech. Two weeks later I saw a Schindler’s List scene on TH-cam and dived into a hole on it….. found out Itzhak Perlman helped with the music in one of the best movies ever made. He is very inspiring.

So wonderfull... brings me so much peace and serenity
How does music narrate the story of one's life in a single piece? It is so wonderful when genius transends verbal communicatio, and allows us to communicate the inexpressible with such passion and meaning..
If there were only one song that I was able to listen to until the day that I died, this would be it. To be able to experience so many emotions through one piece of music - truly beautiful.
I have heard many versions of Chopin Nocturne in C Sharp Minor but Itzhak Perlman's is always the best. What a great artist.
ARMIN HORMAZD you should hear Joshua Bell’s version
Jose Perez perlmans better than bell
Alexander Han nope
I like this version, but after hearing Midori Goto's version, I like hers more. I think the way that she plays it more slowly gives it more magic.
Wau
I just love how he closes his eyes and plays so effortlessly, yet with so much passion and emotion. He's one of my favorite violinists. If I will ever be able to play just half as good as he does, I will be the happiest person.

I was thinking the same thing.
Yes, an extraordinary artist
The depth of feeling evoked by this piece and his playing cannot be described by mere words.
Only a person who only talked with thier violin about his sorrows, happy monents, secrets, pains and dreams and cried and laughed with it for all their life gets to this point where his playing is the sound form of emotions and as free as dreams that can fly freely, and lightly like a bird.

I am listening to this beautiful music on a foggy autumnal afternoon, and somehow, I don't miss the sun.

what mind blowingly fantastic vibrato. more than anything else its his vibrato that kills me, so perfect, so emotional, so fantastic.
Though the piano version is THE NOCTURNE, this wonderful one almost makes me cry..Perlman is one of the best violinist, ever..
He sure is.
Yes absolutely!
Marek from Warszawa
Exactly, I am in tears listening to this.
2:39 That shifting was unbelievably amazingly accurate!

Playing that expresses pure meaning. Indeed a gift to present and future generations...
I can't breathe, it's so beautiful!
LiciaLu H. You can hold your breath for 4 minutes?

LiciaLu H. So geht es mir auch.

His music is so emotional. You can feel the mood pouring right off of the strings.

Always a treat.never seen this true master ever play without true heart and emotion
A younger Perlman! As always, so wonderful and elegant...and I love Chopin, anything written by Chopin. Now I have to go practice my violin...
Cool
Makes you wonder how many extraordinarily talented Perlman's were removed from Europe in the 30's/40's. Profound catastrophe. Chopin/Perlman, nothing compares.
I often think of that too. But i believe in reincarnation but its still very sad
A lot of musicians survived because the Nazis needed people to play the marching music in the camps. Some comfort in the great tragedy.
it's 'HE GOT SKILLLLLLLLLZ....MAN!!' Perlman. I love the way you play, love it.
I am not one of those who think everything Perlman does is perfect. Having said that, I think this particular piece is perfect! Wonderful! Bravo! Love the quick shot of Ron and Nancy in the background. This is a genuine "historical document"!
This is the kind of stuff that no one can do quite like Perlman. Wonderful!
I love Itzak Perlman. His music is beautiful. It took courage for him to travel to Russia. Because they were handicapped accessible in most places.
This is wonderful! I loved this piece of music - the doublestopping technique that he did halfway through the song was amazing!
WOW !!! I never heard this before....amazing!
Nocturne of Chopin are pure poetry
I fall more in love with Itzhak Perlman each time I watch yet another video of him.
the way perlman feels the music it's so great. you can feel he's happy

Beautiful transcription and performance. My fav instrument is piano, but this is majestic!
He is one-of-kind. So glad we have him to listen to.
My god that was beautiful! I've listened to this about a hundred times.
I recognized almost every note of the piece you play, Master!!!!!
Delightful!!!!!!
Thank you!!!
Perlman & Noda
performed a unique interpretation of Chopin's Nocturne. An extraordinary emotional and delicate melody.
The violin adds a sound that enhances this magnificent composition. My favorite interpretation of Chopin's Nocturne in C#minor.
Évidemment j'aime beaucoup Chopin...Très belle version. I love you Maestro Ithzak Perlman 🌺
Stunning performance. Bravo to Perlman, and of course the composer Chopin. We are all richer because of them.
The master of the how to make a violin 'sing'...Itahak Perlman. Lovely, simply lovely.

Hmm.. romantical disappointment.. I like that

Absolutely beautiful - the music reaches the Soul 🌻

A gorgeous classical "song" for the ages. The bow control here with the dynamics is genius.

Piękno muzyki Fryderyka Chopina to fenomen graniczący z cudem ❤️
How does music narrate the story of one's life in a single piece? It is so wonderful when genius transends verbal communicatio, and allows us to communicate the inexpressible with such passion and meaning..
My favorites are in this order. Heifetz because of his intensity, Oistrakh because of his whole hearted playing and then Perlman for his rich tone.
I don't know anything about classical music, but when I hear Perlman, I can hear the difference ( and may be Heifetz to).
This divine moment really touch my spirit.
Thank you , the first time I have listened to this played so beautiful on a violin, I think Chopin would have loved this also. Don
I have always been of the opinion that the violin sounds best when it mourns, this proves it. That melody is marvelous.
