Strangely enough, when The Nocturnes are played well... I see visions in my mind of the salons (rooms) in which they might have first been played. I see the ladies' dress. I smell the candles and the leftover food and wine still in the air. I think Chopin learned some kind of secret of how to create pictures of things. And then transmit those pictures into sound/music. A few other composers can do this to varying degrees, but not like Chopin.
I am so impressed by the musical passion and quality of Jan Lisiecki's music. He is so polite and humble! I have great sympathy for him. He is a dear and smart boy. I am 62 years old. Thank you Jan!

Wow, his is so nostalgic. My mom was a classical piano teacher and she used to play this piece all the time when I was little. It's giving me so many flashbacks. Even though she has quit the piano now due to many reasons, her playing pieces like this will forever be engraved in my memory. I'm so thankful that she has taught me the importance of music...

First the tragedy of awareness Then the little joys of experience The coda is feathers blowing in the wind and the end is absolute - one of the best simple cadences I know - Alpha & Omega

I've heard this being played by so many, many professionals but Erick was the only pianist who delivered with feeling, and the lightest of touches on the trills and even the passage that was meant to be played con forza. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant .....
From all the performances Ive heard this is by far the best. He played it so gentle. This Steinway was made for him because he knew EXACTLY how to play it.
I've been listening to several artists now, playing this piece on violin. Only 2 of them were able to get my eyes welled. One of them was this gentleman (though keyboard).
This is honestly the best interpretation of this piece that I have seen. As someone who plays this piece, I am always curious as to how different people interpret each part differently and everyone plays such pieces with their own emotions and feelings. This one is most certainly my favorite.
