Hey, like everyone else SO grateful for your time making this amazingly helpful video. I have one question, I am worried about CPU usage/power. If I use 5 0r 6 of the plugins, combined with samples, maybe vocals too is the MPC Key powerful enough or will it just max out and freeze like I’ve read on other sites? Finally, do you think Akai would release a bigger more powerful version of this keyboard? Again, thanks for your time. Take care.

I would use controller mode so my computer does the work the 61 is good for 4 tracks of plugins easily.

why is there is know in box inside the Mpc software preferences for the key61 when I'm in cotroller mode
I looked at a clients MPC Key 37 this weekend and the same thing since the 2.14 update.
Your videos are really helpful and easy to follow. Can you please help us by letting us know how you Name and Save a new project? I have made a few good tracks but when I go\ to save them they are lost and I'm unable tp bring them back.once again.Thanks so much for all you are doing here!
save project then save in the projects folder in the internal drive.
What's up OG Doc. Long time fan I purchased MPC2000xl, MPC2500 and MPC5000, videos classes from you back in the day. I have a question can you sample and chop directly to the keys like we could on the ASR10 and the Triton, or only to the pads, if so would you put up a quick video? Thanks
Yes you can just sample to pad.
@@SampleKingsVideos Thanks for the reply, I must be doing something wrong because after I sample and hit the key I just hear internal keyboard sound, but the sample works on the pad just fine when I tap pad.
I just thought that wasn't an option because every video I see people only sample directly to pad.
I have a question I'm to final out why when I'm in controller mode with my key 61 I want to sample but here is know input inside the preferences
can you play the drums using the keys or do you have to use the pads? maybe you mentioned it..but i didnt watch the whole video
I didn’t try but yes.
I bought this at GC for an open box discount. Whoever had it before me made a beat and saved it as “day 1”. They had taken an edm pack with the cheesy loud reverb vocals on one of the Akai kit. They took the vocals and put on 16 levels and hit a bunch of random notes. If they had watched this video I probably wouldn’t have damaged my hearing.

@@SampleKingsVideos is there a way to arpeggiate midi after it’s recorded, instead of doing it live?
I just received my key 61 and it appears that I cannot used my headphones and monitors at the same time? meaning, if I connect my headphones, I don't hear anything but if I disconnect my monitors, I can hear sounds. Am I overlooking a step or two or is this an input problem?????

Anyone in here use the Akai Force with the Mpc Key 61 keyboard? I just picked up both of these and want to use them together. Wondering how to setup sync with them and which one should be master and which slave? If anyone can assist let me know Thanks

You’re the only person I’ve seen to mention the force. I was so excited when I first saw this thing but as a force user rather than an MPC user I’ve been waiting for years for a force with a keyboard on it. This thing is amazing but it’s Still not there for me 😌
So how do you use an expansion piano sound with a sustain pedal and record with the sustain notes actually playing back in full and not cut short ?
That works with no problems.
Can you record 2 or more tracks at the same time?
If you do multi track midi record.
Why use ethernet and Wi-Fi??

The same filters and folders thing is on the force and I’ve got to be honest I have never got my head around it. It’s massively unintuitive! I’ve got about 3 minutes in and your fumbling around going back to “internal” much like I do every time I use the dam thing. It looks like you’re a new user and you’re trying to figure out how to use it??? The file management system is a PITA isn't it?! I’m sorry dude I know how much time it takes to make these videos but I still don’t understand the file management system?
