they're kinda already the present of music. "color" and convolvers constitute a significant amount of the sound of recent EDM trends. Both are based on spectral processing. It makes sense because this field was relatively unexplored in EDM during the rise of dubstep and the like, and people are always searching for new sounds. It'll evolve in ways I can't predict so it's exciting.
That's how I feel about spectral morphing too. I dont hear it done very much (for instance using zynaptiq morph) but the potential of it is absolutely insane
I really like this sound of the bell at 0:07. It's like a randomly caught signal, or the light of distant stars. This kind of music makes me feel in my place, feel better. It's like I'm not alone in outer space. I'm incredibly deep into this kind of sound texture and thank you for being able to watch this video from time to time and feel better. I grew up on dubstep, and that journey is still going on. Both in terms of my creativity and my overall mood in life

@@gutterg0d I spent 3-4 months with Max's RNBO, which honestly just simplifies the DSP side, but you still have to use JUCE, code your own GUI, compile on all relevant platforms and get a bunch of licenses! :( Doing patches for plugdata let's you do all this without any of the headaches of offering functioning vst3 binaries for all daw's and OS's, it was just too time consuming sadly.

a sampled growl sample, pitched down like crazy and then processed haha. N-Spectral Mask picks up on dry sound and applies the volume of that growl spectrally, which lets you recover the dynamics of a sound even when i process it with resonators and a bunch of other stuff 🫡

Plugdata is opensource and therefor FREE yea! :D It is based on PUREDATA, which is also free, but more importantly plugdata allows you to write plugin-like patches that are incredibly performant! :)
as someone who got to try this early in patreon. uhh yeah this thing is insane
no way its ireyte
NO WAY IT'S XTRAKTOR
people do not realize but plugins like these might be the future of music

it's also cross-daw ;D
