Loved this it reminds me of our adventure when we came to live in Perth in 1988, we built our first house in Joondalup when there was nothing but bush, we came with our 4 year old, we knew no one and within the first week of arriving my husband had found a job, we bought an old banger, Datsun 200B and we found a house to rent in Greenwood, times were very different then, we had no internet and relied on writing letters back home. We still live up near the Joondalup area, love it in Perth best move we ever made, can’t wait for part 2 ❤️
Hi Danielle 🙋I had no idea you'd lived in Australia! What a lovely story , I really enjoyed learning a little bit about your lives, so interesting. Xxxx can't wait for part 2!!! Xxx
Hi, we are currently in the process of applying for a Visa to live and work in Perth. We are a family of 4. I have just finished watching Part 1 of your Australia Vlog and really enjoyed it. I look forward to watching Part 2! Thanks, Hayley x
Your "piece of wood" animal is a tawny frogmouth (owl) and that's what they do if you shine a light on them at night or accidentally find them - they pretend to be a piece of wood or part of a tree if they're in one lol :)
Aww loved it, my sister inlaw lives in Perth and weve had several holidays there. We have visited all the places you've shown. I agree it's an amazing place to live x
I hope you get back to WA one day. I think we definitely take our beaches and weather for granted. Many tourists head to the East Coast of Oz not realising how very different the weather is in Melbourne and Sydney compared to Perth. On a side note, with Cadburys and the added preservatives (they say it's put in the chocolate to stop it melting due to the Aussie summers), if you pop into somewhere like The Reject Shop, you can purchase chocolate in there (Cadburys / Galaxy etc.) for the same price you would buy it Woolies - but read on the back as they sell the UK chocolate and you are spot on, it tastes so much better than the chocolate made in Oz. Thanks for the upload. Not sure why I watched - think I was just curious what others throught of Australia. I've been living in WA for over 40 years. If you ever return, a great place to eat lunch with the kangaroos is up at the tavern at John Forrest National Park in Hovea. Just watch out for the kookaburras as they've been known to swipe peoples steak from their steak sandwiches whilst people are biting into them!!!
Hi could you please help us all hanging on the cliff waiting for part 2! Loved the video, found it really interesting and eager to know more as I’m considering going to Perth with my young family 🤞
@@DanielleDixon 😉. Thanks for that. My wife, 2 daughters and I hopefully will be moving north of Perth in the next 3 years.... same area where you were living in. Great vid. Very refreshing to watch a normal person's perspective and not all these silly wannabees posting videos that aren't real life. Keep up the great work and thanks for you info. Very helpful 👌
loveed your video ! are you doing a part 2 ??? desperate to see it lol , im 33 this year and have 3 kids we are looking into emigrating with my husband asap xx
Loved this video. Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, Australia's "sunlight" is different - there is a kind of a golden shine to it. The only thing I really missed during our covid year was the bunnings sausage sizzles!
I'm between Melbourne, Sydney, and Adelaide. Young professional in early 20s & my job allows me to work remotely (anywhere). How plausible is relocating to Aussie Land in today's climate? Genuinely asking. Hoping to make the move by the end of this year or early 2022.
Just apply and go for it! Be aware the weather on the East Coast is very different to WA. In WA we get a lot of sunny, dry (and in summer), very hot days. There's a saying all Melbournians know that is "four seasons in one day" meaning the weather changes rapidly over there. Adelaide is a bit of a hole, especially close to the city. If you're heading to S.A, try for areas out near Glenelg. It's much nicer than near the city where there is a lot of homelessness, poverty and prostitution. If you're looking for heat and sunshine, head for QLD or WA. Both are laid back and fully of friendly, relaxed people. NSW and Melbourne have a lot of Middle Eastern people, unfortunately with this comes things like not being able to celebrate Christmas in primary schools (unless your child goes to a Catholic school). There's also some suburbs in NSW where Caucasian people tend not to go as they feel unsafe where they are heavily populated with Muslim's. The international borders will open soon. Be aware, Australia is extremely divided at present with the East Coast currently being able to travel internationally, whilst W.A. feels like we will be locked up forever (people in NSW and Victoria can travel overseas but can't travel to WA to visit family because our idiot premiere has the borders slammed shut. This is largely due to political power play. They're aiming for the whole of Oz to be open around February. We'll see. But life is short. Adventure is out there.
I’m so glad you enjoyed your time here and it was nice to hear about all the ‘little’ things you loved. Australia has so much to offer, but it’s all of those little things that make our quality of life so enjoyable and our ‘culture’ so unique.....in my humble (and biased) opinion truly the best country on earth. 💖🇦🇺
Hey lovely have you taken some of your videos down? I’m sure you had on on your living room where you show your new fire 🔥 I was looking for it to show my hobby but can’t find it xx
Oh thanks so much I was so certain it was a living room clean or redecorate post !! I’ll look now, are you happy with it we are looking at getting one xx
What an adventure!Brave you!One question!Would you do that again I mean now that you are more mature and with 2 kids?By the way I absolutely wait for part 2!Greetings from Greece
Thanks so much ! So pleased you loved it. I do wonder that now. I think because I was so young I just went for it and now I’d probably stress forever over it 🙈
Our Cadbury chocolate was better than the English chocolate until 2010 when Kraft America took over and now it is too sweet . We have really nice hand made chocolate in Australia . Twenty years ago British people loved our Cadbury chocolate because the milk used was nice and creamy . It is more like the American chocolate now .

Urm. Galaxy chocolate solid in supermarkets in Australia is imported from the UK.
Move soon ( T ) if BOTH China and Russia are going to target America if a war breaks out, but not really sure how safe Australia would be...?
