Beckman is a great choice to take over driving the Peak car. He's a winner, likable and well spoken.Tommy Johnson Jr. would have been great choice also. Can't speak for all fans but I'm glad John. is still with us. If this is the end of his driving career I'm sad he couldn't go out on his terms. But he had won a few weeks prior and if I'm not mistaken, he was leading FC points at the time of his accident. If this is the end, that isn't a bad way to go out. John Force is the epitome of an American success. Alot of us remember when he was a field filler and like a lot of young drivers, scraping to get by. He stayed with his dream and didn't give up and turned himself into a living legend. They broke the mold when John Force was born. There'll never be another one like him.

I agree, Jack is a great choice.I ran my top fuel and went to funny car, later, I've found in your younger days your quick, over the years we all seem to slow down, however there's a few that a long with being quick and alert comes the experiences, that's what it takes, Jack has it.

A substitute driver can only fill in for a driver for 8 races because of a mishap. Next 2 races and then the 6 countdown races would be 8.
