Please do not lecture me that the first 2 chimes are incorrect in different ways (if they are) because the people who set the dates had them all over the place making it confusing. No name-calling intended.

I agree. I love the 2015 Sonata (excluding Hybrid because of how atrociously ugly it looks) and the 2016 (all including the facelifted Hybrid, not that 2015 disaster of a facelift).

Opinion on the chimes:
1985-1993 it sounded like the old chime but single
1994-2001 the chime is very fast than the old Hyundai Elantra
2002-2005 sounded like the old Hyundai Elantra chime
2006-2008 they stole the old Mitsubishi chime (proving that there's 2 chimes per beep)
2009-2010 sounds like the Kia chime
2011-2014 it almost sounded like the old Mitsubishi chime
Hybrid 2011-2014 it copied the BMW chime but it had the NFL intro song
2015-2017 the chime looks great but it almost took away the Mercedes-Benz chime
Hybrid 2015-2017 it almost stole the old Hybrid chime
2020-2023 the chime is relaxing but it liked the BMW chime
Hybrid 2020-2023 it almost stole the Windows XP startup sound
