Nothing like getting rid of rest materials to force ones self to come up with solutions and ideas. It's so easy to just purchase new material and build freely from the start. As all your projects it looks great. 👍
It's really those small things, like using the bandana to reduce the friction to get an 80kg drillpress moving, that makes me smile. Gotta be inventive, when strength fails you :-) The colourful pop of the drawers is a nice touch. You may need to cut down on your lumber, otherwise at some point you may not get out of your workshop :-) CU, Cris! Take care!! (And have a good day!!))
Hi Cristiana, I've seen you a few month ago and I love your work, I am from Argentina and we're thinking in migrate next year, of course I know I'll have to live in small flat and luckily you've give me, lots of good ideas 😊😊 THANKS
Shop projects are your opportunity to practice and perfect your woodworking skills. So dove tails, veneering, picture frame corners etc. are all acceptable and recommended. Make your mistakes in the shop and continue to use them to remind yourself that now you do it better.
U found a way to make a simple drill press stand cool. My own woodworking has benefited a great deal from my subscription to your channel. Looking forward to the drill press table project. Very cool build. 👏🏿💪🏾
My wardrobe in Brazil was veneered with Sucupira, indeed it's beautiful but it's hard. I got a couple of wooden splinters on my fingers while cleaning it haha. You gave it a charmy use! Congrats 😊
Absolutely love your work and videos - your creativity is inspiring! Really impressed with your ingenuity and problem solving, like your simple solution to moving the drill press from the old stand to the new one!👍👍👍
3:03 glue-on ruler on the top of the jig. You can also get a custom made stainless steel insert piece with laser etched ruler marks, and using your router, glue it in place on top. Tools are meant to make things easy, that's a hassle there that can be improved.
Great looking drill press stand, and nicely functional. But now I'm wondering what's the name of that very effective Japanese non-skid mat, and where I could get one. Can you please give us a brand/name or a link? I could sure use one of those!
Just in case anyone is interested in the colored paneling that Chris is using, it’s called Valchromat… I’m sure many people are well aware of what Valchromat is, but it doesn’t seem to be as recognized here in the US, so I thought I’d share.
Your drawers are lovely! One tip I picked up for cheap drawers is to make the bottom of the drawers a bit wider so that they fit in rabbits on the side walls, then I put paste wax on the sliding surfaces. The body of the drawer rests on top of the wider bottom or I can put things other than a drawer on the bottom, like a custom tool holder. Because the bottom plate slides out I can put little workstations (glueing, soldering, etc) on the bottom plates and take them to where I'm working.
Really impressive work and well explained! Your help tools are great 👍 and I totally get the addiction to sliding these open and closed, they glide perfectly! Thanks for sharing.
Simple yet effective and, as always with your projects, virtually bomb proof 😆 (By which I mean the end products are made to last a long time despite being used a lot. You don't spare expenses by using flimsy drawer rails, for instance.)
This is one of my favourite channels and I don’t understand why there aren’t more subscribers. Beautiful work and great videos. (Also, how high can Cristiana’s hair get?)
If you have to bore a lot of metals e.g. to modify large series of industrial made metal parts as your wish or as accommodate better your fixings ... you can use an engine oil pump sold by LIDL to circulate refreshing emulsion oil with water stored in a tank reservoir (a plastic jerrican); pay attn. it works 12V so you need an auto charger or a transformer to power it up... About the retention of small pieces to bore you can use very effectively neodymium magnets (on / off) to slide freely the vice on the drill plate or as a locking device for pieces while drilling.
She usually makes her own music. This video is one example of that. Once in a while she resorts to stuff she didn't compose but you can find most of her stuff here: soundcloud.com/gethandsdirty EDIT: I meant the intro song is hers but the rest of the video, it’s not. I’m sorry for the misunderstanding.
You may have introduced the twist in the first drawer when you cut the groove. It appears that the stock was not firmly down to the router table. See video at 7:38.
I couldn’t bend it enough with my arms to make the work piece flat in the router table. It was twisted from the start - see when I cut the large board on the table saw. Even if that would be the problem, the drawer wouldn’t be bent. It would be a trapezium instead of a rectangle. 🤔
Boas Adriana. Obrigado.
I like your sander, sure would of came in handy when i built the kitchen & bath cabinetry. Built same as your drill press stand. The bathroom is wall mounted using french cleat I have a stainless steel table in my kitchen. I decided to put casters that lock on it vs dragging on the cork floor or rolling onto the deck for BBQs. I loath those casters specially when I'm making bread, stainless steel is best surface for bread. Concrete counters work real well to but it's a bitch to clean. I would not like the casters on a drill press stand
Everything you make is beautiful. As Keats said "Beauty is truth, truth beauty,-that is all Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know."
That red is sooo pretty ❤❤❤
Excellent!
Thumbs up for the "BOOM", nice job and keep them coming!
I really like the look of the draw boxes being a different colour to the outside

Thank you!! I appreciate that :)
Feels like we need a Top 10 Uses for the Get Hands Dirty Bandana.
Ahah that’s a great idea!
i am carpenter since 25 years and i would tell you that i like the way do woodwork. Genius and entertaining Videos.👍👍👍

It’s great to see that you absorb all the details 😊 and yes, Joana is always mad about the amount of wood in the entrance 😬 See you, Micha!
Gee I loved those "under drawer" slides! Nice build too😊
Oh man, I miss Cactus! Workshop's videos, that logo design is so great
💯
Hello from Belgium. Nice job as usual.
Love the two step routing. That would have saved me some burn marks.
Nice build, the only thing I would change is to put the drawer pulls upside down so they don't collect dust.
Very good Idea, super implementation, great Video!👍👍
Greeting from Germany 😉
😮So jealous!
Nice project. The colored MDF looks great.

Lady,
I'm subscribing just because you figured out how to move that drill press. You would survive the Zombie Acropolis 😂😂😂😂😂
I get so excited when you post! Always time well spent.
😊 Yay!
Small 45° chamfers on the top MDF panel would have it protected from shocks. Good job as allways!
I'll probably never do something similar, but I really, really like watching you create things from wood. It relaxes me a lot.
Aww ☺️ thanks for taking the time to comment!
Same.
Cris, what a great project. It looks stunning!
I think 3 in 1 oil is an international staple in every shop! Saw the bottle or at least what looked like one in the top drawer. Awesome piece!
True!

Love the look and finish of this drill press stand, a quality piece of furniture.

Thank you!! So happy to hear that :)
I always like the outcome of your projects

Nice build I’m liking the red it sets it off. Cheers for sharing
You're the reason imma start woodworking. Your designs are so clean damn
I love to hear that! Go ahead :)
Nice upgrade! Looks great and I really like the sliding top bin. Out of the tiny apartment and back into the tiny shop. 😁 Thanks for sharing!
Ahaha 🤣
This teaches me a lot about building drawers - thank you. And I do like the colour combination very much. :)
Boom 💥 💥 ❤
Great new drill press cabinet, the finish makes the red velcromat look awesome too. Looking forward to seeing you do more shop projects.
Thank you!

That’s a great idea! I’ll do that 😄
Amazing as always!!!
Beautiful work! Love the use of the red color for the drawers.
Beautiful escecially for a drill press stand. Great work!!!

Well done. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂
Very nice! 😊❤👌
It's... BEAUTIFUL
This is very beautiful and satisfying project. I love new look. Especially colour. I can't wait to see next project. You always make my day happy.
Brilliant as always...👍
Great looking drill press stand, and nicely functional. But now I'm wondering what's the name of that very effective Japanese non-skid mat, and where I could get one. Can you please give us a brand/name or a link? I could sure use one of those!
Hey Lew! I get them online from a german store called Dictum. Just search for japanese non-slip mat. Thanks for the feedback!
Love it. Absolutely love it!
Sometimes I just pass by to give a thumbs up. This is a very nice channel.
Great job it looks great

Great vid and the stand looks really good.

Lovely
Looks great, and looks like it works great too - total win!

Awwww thanks! 😊
Awesome video. Well done.
What a great build, I love it., especially the splash of red. I really enjoyed your video, too. You have a new subscriber in me, for sure.
Thank you! And welcome 😁
Love this! Excited for more shop projects!
Fantastic job here, as always!
Makeshifts seemingly can't stand the day, but they work for years😉😁
My drill press stand is an old wooden file cabinet. It works great!
¡Gracias!
Yay thank you Anita! Sorry I only saw this today.
Looks great. Love the colored MDF and the routed pulls on the drawer fronts!
I Love watching your Impressive Work and Detail....:)
NICE!
Realmente! Sucupira é chatinha de trabalhar…parabéns Cris! Ficou lindo!
Hey obrigada! 😁

Great project. I enjoyed the music and I'm wondering if it was your composition and playing.

Pretty sweet
Love the blue on your router table, but refuse to give up my JessEm just to get the rocker blue…. Lol

Great video. I'm wondering what that red board material is called? I've never seen that before. It looks so cool.
Great Video!! Love the color scheme. Do you have a link on where to get one of the Japanese Non-Slip mats you mention while sanding?
Ficou muito bom Cris, parabéns pelo excelente trabalho e por compartilhar conosco. Sou brasileiro e admiro seu trabalho
Always great results! Can you please advise which waterbased wood protection is good for plywood, which would not smell too much / too long? Thanks!
Boas Adriana.

Muito bom trabalho. Ficou 5 estrelas. Parabéns! Bom domingo!
How ..
How did you move that 80+ kilo drill press? How much do you Weigh? Half that?
I am thoroughly impressed!
What is the make and model of the bit you used on the drawer pulls? Thank you. Great project!
music was really great in this vid! was that your own stuff?
Thanks! Only the intro song is mine.
