This is one heck of a car and I part exchanged a 2 year old Mercedes GLB to get my Iconic Esprit Alipine. Nothing rattles, everything inside is solid and it is a great, great drive. First time II am not driving a German car and I'm happy I took the plunge.
Great choice!
I’ll be getting my Techno Esprit Alpine in April. I tested the car and ordered it right after. The car is gorgeous both in exterior and interior. And a lot of tech and premium features at a good price. Renault really outdone themselves with this car.
Awesome and Congratulations! We think so too!
I just bought the mid range version. I tested so many suv's and this is by far the best, it's smooth comfy and well built also it does accelerate pretty well (been timed at 7.5 - 7.8 depending who is driving lol) which is decent for a big thing like this. I even tested an evoke and this felt just as smooth and comfy, hell it even felt as luxurious but for 15k less. The matt grey just makes it look sooooo good. Pic's and vids dont do it justice.
1.2l Engine is horrible😢
clearly you don’t own one then, only way I know the engine is on is when the EV light goes out.
Great car and, as economical as my Peugeot 3008 1.5 hdi eat8 was.
Great review 👍👍
I ordered the Iconic Version, and was lucky that one was in stock. Getting it next month. :D
Excellent review.
Great looking car and I love the tec Better looking than it's rivals
Waiting for delivery of the Iconic with the matte paint. Go large, or go home. Est delivery: 2nd week of July. 😊
How are you getting on with it? I'm thinking of getting one in January.
Love the look of this car. The 4 wheel steer is actually really useful especially in tight small areas and parking...should be standard on all models.
Great review. I have a 2017 Kadjar. Thanks for mentioning the towing capacity as I also have a 1350kg caravan and a lot of new hybrid models have very poor towing stats. 👍😊
Thanks, Peter! Yes, this is a surprisingly capable hybrid. Happy caravanning 😄
To be honest, I think this looks quite better than it's related sibling from Nissan 😅
I loved this car as soon as I took it for a test drive. Bought alpine mid range and quickly notched up 4k miles in 10 weeks 12:10 12:10
Great vid! The Renault website claims 555L boot space, not 455L, is this a mistake, or something to do with the models? Thanks!
Hey! Good spot, Sam's just realised he misread the script on that part.. You're correct. Thanks for highlighting :)
The maximum boot capacity is 555 L. That is with the rear seats pushed all the way forward. The minimum capacity is 430 L.
Maybe Techno version and get alloy rim R19?
Can I watch TH-cam or download games on play store?... Any one know ?
TH-cam yes, games I'm not sure.
Are all those driving assistance systems ever annoying or in the way?
Can they be turned off one by one?
If yes, will the car remember which ones I turned off the next time I start the car?
Hi John, we'll have to revisit the car to check all of them as it's been a few months, but Sam remembers that you can indeed turn some of them off (such as steering assist) and save them in that setting 😁
Why does the drivers seat move whilst driving surely that’s a problem
You don’t buy an SUV for enhanced cornering. If you want sharper handling buy a Clio.
google car driver really innovates
Wish it had more torque than 205, and maybe a bigger electric battery for more performance. Still lovely looking motor.
205Nm is only the ICE torque, not the max. torque it can produce when it works in parallel with the electric motor. Take a test drive and floor it, you'll be able to feel it's much more than 205Nm by how it pushes you into the seat. Also, its 80-120km/h acceleration is the best in class.
@@tinblaskovic2742 I think the figure is @ 400nm ICE+electric 205 for an Atkinson cycle ice is actually pretty good
Greetings from Greece. Dumb question. Do i have to put in the car a sim card to work with google as you do on your cellphone?
Yes if you want apps like you tube etc, comes with orange about £5 per month
@@paulkennish3591 Sounds the business. Where does the sim card go?
Front looks a little old fashioned somehow, gives hints of the pre-facelift Grandland X!
Bloody hellfire he said if you arrive to quick into a corner and if you’re nervous on motorways who is this video aimed at 14 year olds ?
😀 P r o m o s m
An extra £5000 to help you drive it with rear wheel steering
Now I know the world has gone bonkers
The extra £5k isn’t just for that though, you get quite a few useful extras for your money. 🙂
It's 4 cylinder not 3
The full hybrid is a 3 cylinder. The middle version, which is not available in Netherlands, is a 4 cylinder mild hybride (160HP) 😊
@@boetieblasterb5333 I'm in the UK so the 4-cylinder is available.
Do I really want to spend £40k on a Renault? Not sure I do.
"Renault"
Yes, why not? Enough with all these biased stereotypes some people have. Of course I would! How do we glorify car makes that used to be considered cheap like Skoda, Hyundai or Kia but now make really good cars, and we cannot accept Renault making good cars??!! Besides, renault was always innovative and has its own identity and history. Also, bear in mind that most models in this category nowadays cost on average around $40K.
@stevep1239 I was tempted by the mpg and the looks but having driven one, this car is hideously noisy, espescially the road noise. The worst I have ever heard.
@shieldaigbencher sorry, but the road noise may be contributed to the tires the car wears by the manufacturer. I had the same experience when I test driven the Nissan Qashqai, and when driven the same car with different tires, I noticed there was significantly less noise.
Indeed, it’s not like they’ve had great success in motorsport over the years, and passed those technological advances on to their road cars. Oh wait…
Why would you spend considerably more on a similar car just because it’s got a German brand’s badge stuck on the front?
