Man, that looked like a frustrating day for you , Bill. Those salmon will chew up that leader in no time. I don’t go less than 8lb. Down by the marsh, I did go 5.6 leader as I knew most hook up will be browns or steelhead. You were brave to fish at the dam, I couldn’t do it with the amount of amateur anglers there. There is no respect. I like my peace and quiet down low where you fished at the end. I couldn’t touch any on marabou jigs but on beads and sacs I did well. Hopefully the crowds leave sooner than later.
Hey Bill, tomorrow (Sunday) I’m planning to go to big creek and fish from morning till mid day before the rain comes. I will most likely be at the cabbage patch and heading upriver , just letting you know in case you wanted to come out. Take care.
My anxiety is too high to deal with that many people. Good to see you out again. Ive noticed the numbers of Salmon are way lower than last year. I'm hoping the steelhead will make a good run. I like fishing in Rochester, not as many people during the week. Next time you'll landem, maybe a 6lb leader.
Hey Bill dont let it get you down.....i stay away from burt this time of year, unless im desperate!😂😂 Thats why i asked about the erie tribs from you last week, and your advice got my wifes first steelhead! Thanks again! If i go to burt this season, itll be during the work week when most people are busy with work. But even yhen you have yhe out of state guys that yake vacation to get here to fish. Just not as many during the week days. Well, dont get down on yourself, thise fish have seen just about everything, so they wont bite. Have fun and relax, thats why we fish. Hope to see you out there, great video! Tight lines......!
No way! Can't believe I missed you Bill, I was there from 2 till sundown wish I spotted you! The guys that tangled your lines helped net a nice hen for me lol Don't like how some people fish so close to you but hey that's burt for ya. You win some you lose some 🎣
Huge brown run this year in the big O everywhere. At the OO last week we really nailed them, biting like rabid dogs they were, lots of fun. Give the OO a try, not nearly the circus dirty burt is. I can't fish like that. Good luck next time, hope to see you
Circus is right! Went there for the first time ever just a few days earlier because the conditions down in Erie were horrible and had a buddy in from out of town that I promised to get on some fish. We managed to get a spot at the dam and did pretty well. Was disheartened to have people right at the dam snagging with 100 lb braid tied to a weighted 2/0 hook. I know because they buried the hook into a fish I was legit hooked up with. At least they cut their line and let me get it. Mixed feelings about going back. Black and white jigs were doing it for us. Couldn't buy a bite on beads or sacs.
I give you credit, I'd lose my mind there with all those people. I haven't been there in 15 years. We went south of Buffalo but the flow is so low, but still got a few larger stockers.
Hahaha plenty of hookups Bill, tough running 4lb test when you can't let a fish run lol that place is definitely a circus but there was a lot of fish to be had.
Great video as always!! I’m going soon for the first time with marabou jigs and I just need to know how to fish them like can I run just bobber to jig and do I just let it float down stream or do you reel it in?
Here in pa , we need rain. The Erie tribs. are too low and clear and the fishermen are all congregated in the same deep hole. Looks like the same up there.
@@BillMikesAnglingAdventures winds should have the water very nice this week... im going out in a couple days to see whats biting, might have to stop by the platform circus too lol
I would've cut you a nice 20-30 ft of 5, 6, and 7 lb test FC Sniper line if I would've spotted you at the bank, Bill. Burt is too crazy for me tbh. My son and I had an entire section of the Lower to ourselves this weekend...we only hooked a couple of fish (a laker and a steelie) but I'd rather spend a chunk of the day with some peace and quiet away from crowds even if it means fewer fish hooked...just my preference.
thanks man - just bought a fresh spool of 5lb fc today 😁nice to have solitude once in a while if you can find it but i still get a kick out of dirty burt
@@BillMikesAnglingAdventuresit’s been a pretty poor salmon year I’ve probably been out almost a dozen times and only gotten males and browns ( not complaining abt the browns tho) only got 1 hen so far 😢
Not really, combat fishing just f#$"ing sucks, gotta get away. It should be closed there, in Ontario you can't fish 23 meteres 75ft. below any dam, ladder, leap, ect.
Salmon are coming in and i will tell ya salmon fishing ain't trout. They are not finesse fishing. Go back and get some salmon leader. The stuff i use is 16 or 20 lb 0x leader. Umpaq salmon leader abrasive resistance and thin diameter
Scientific Anglers. Rio 0x tippet these are great. They have the diameter of a 4lb test. I was hooking coho and no one else was getting any. It was great. Disadvantages you need to tie up again after a few fish due to the teeth fraying the line.

thanks Adrian ✌️frustrating is right - crowds will be thinning soon as they always do - still fun to see the circus 😁

good luck man - just fished 5 straight days on vacation - i can barely move I'm so sore lol
@ sounds good Bill. Maybe another time.
just one of those days where nothing goes right - No Skunkin though
@@BillMikesAnglingAdventures we were just up there November 1,2 and me and my dad caught about 18 brown trout each there’s a pile of them in there
I fished it a week ago and there were more browns than kings. Not a bad thing.
Was great to meet you bill! Been watching for you for the last 7 years of going!
thanks man ✌️good meetin ya
I admire your patience with big crowd..nice video!
Thank you so much 😀
Seeing those browns at your feet was really cool. Great video!
thanks man ✌️ theyre in thick again this year
Sometimes things just don’t go the way you like. You have way more better days than most. Still the man Bill! Crazy busy place.
thanks Jim ✌️ill get em next time
I seen my truck when you pulled in..We were up midway down below the dam..Good day!
Nice ✌️
Great video...some nice fish stackin up...hopefully a good sign of whats to come this year
thanks ✌️Steelhead are just starting too 😃
I’m in your video!! 7:31 sweet!
✌️😎
Yep thats how I remember Dirty Burt. Thanks for another great video, brings back memories but never seen it that crowded post salmon season.
thanks for watchin ✌️was a late start to the salmon run this year with warm dry weather
It’s been a weird year there was some in August then it warmed back up and then nothing for a while so it rlly just got going like a few weeks ago
i heard it was good for a while early before the heat wave
Appreciate the vid. And I get it, lots of big brownies in there. Just can't do it brother. Take care
thanks
Just missed you was there Thur and Friday did pretty good
i heard friday was good ✌️
Man what a zoo lol. I ain’t have the patience to fish that but kudos for sticking it out and hooking into some with all that pressure
thanks man ✌️Dirty Burt aint for everyone

i hear ya its not for everybody 😁so far the Steelhead numbers are low - maybe after a good blowout they'll run
Combat fishing for chinook salmon with 4 lb test has to be one of the most clinically insane things I have personally witnessed
i try 😮😂🤣

@@BillMikesAnglingAdventureshopefully do u know when ur gonna make another trip up here
going to try to get out there wednesday or friday maybe
I fished Burt a couple weeks ago and was skunked. Lots of fish, but lots of people!
i came close to a skunkin but going back again
Nice big brown my friend but too many clowns at that circus for me lol.
thanks man ✌️ theres still more fish than fishermen lol 😁
Sorry you lost that brown bud! Geez too many peeps for sure. Lots of fish though. Good luck out there man! Fish on!

definitely not the time or place for light leaders lol
Hey Mike good steelhead bite 6-8pounders out of Buffalo.
Nice👍waters so low there
Should be a stellar season !
i hope so ✌️- see how the Steelhead run pans out

You can do it!
thanks ✌️yes - let it float and twitch it every so often
Few weeks ago, it was loaded with salmon and the browns just started coming in. Glad to see there’s a ton in there still
for now ✌️ still waiting for a Steelhead run - maybe December
@@BillMikesAnglingAdventures same here! I plan to go up there Friday with a coworker, if you happen to be around.

limited options til we get some real rain or snow melt
I'm not sure how you stayed the whole day, I would've left after 30 minutes 😂, you should buy a clown costume and fish in it next time hahaha
i don't know - seems the lower river can be pretty crazy crowded at times too - i got to try there this year
@@BillMikesAnglingAdventures winds should have the water very nice this week... im going out in a couple days to see whats biting, might have to stop by the platform circus too lol
got to get platform Pete on video 🤣😂
@BillMikesAnglingAdventures 🤣🤣 just don't show his baits on camera or he might throw ya over the railing 😆😂
HAHA 😂🤣
Do you normally use 4 lb test leader? Thats impressive. Cool to see some glimpses of the fishery out west before i visit this month
normally i use 6lb leader for everything but all i had was some 8 and 4lb that someone gave me there
@@BillMikesAnglingAdventures ah, yea 4lb is tough to work with especially a bad spool of it. Nice work nonetheless
Are those sea run browns
sort of - lake run browns
It happens Bill it’s called fishing ✌️.
it happens to me far too often 😜
Dirty burt…… fish on
✌️Fish On
Least you had some fun..erie trib are super low we need rain
true ✌️sooner or later we'll get rain or snow melt

Definitely not ready to hit burt....too many people for me. unfortunately there aren't many other options with the lack of rain.
one of the driest falls in years
a little more room when it dips into the teens
4 lb test isn’t enough looks like
thats what it takes to get bit
Do u still have to pay to get in?
$3
Way too many people yesterday especially when they lowered the water lol I got my eggs and got the hell out of there 😂
thats what i came for and left empty handed 😮
@@BillMikesAnglingAdventuresit’s been a pretty poor salmon year I’ve probably been out almost a dozen times and only gotten males and browns ( not complaining abt the browns tho) only got 1 hen so far 😢
I know its clear, but 4lb? That's asking for break offs!
only had 4lb and 8lb - they wouldn't hit at all with the 8
Still bets work
absolutely 😁
I quit fishing there almost two decades ago. Way too many people and a large loss of ethics. When snagging was legal, it was debauchery down there.
at least its slightly better than the old snagging days
Still a stupid amount of people, need a few snow flakes scare the pa and Ohio guys out😂
half the vehicles or more in the lot from out of state but thats the usual there - give it another month
Wouldn’t it be easier to just throw a bunch of jigs in the water and go home 😊
you got a point but at least i got a quick thrill before the break offs 😜
@ for sure
@ I’m just razzin ya I’ve had the same situation before especially ice fishing
First comment that made me laugh 😂👍👍🤣
I'd outright refuse to fish browns around thst many people lmao
it isn't for everyone 😜
How is that even fun to fish in that mess
some nice fish there
guy asks how's the fishing at least now u can say yep pretty slow and not have a shit eating grin as your walking way lol.
🤣😂
This is not why I go fishing.
beats sitting at home on the couch 😂🤣
