Not sure where the quilter was located, but she was making some nice blocks to make a pretty quilt, Even if she doesn't have all the paraphanelia like we might she is making something pretty.
My mom's former boss was a quilter and she taught me how. And the one thing she ALWAYS had at her side was an iron. No finger pressing. That was a no no.
I like that you trimmed the uneven edges on the blocks. I'm just always afraid you'll accidentally cut yourself with the scissors. OUCH! That would not be good. Besides I enjoy your videos and you might not be able to make them. Please be carefull. Blessings, 😊
Do read some of the earlier comments. She is from Sri Lanka. Are there cutting mats and rotary cutters easily available there? I don't know. If they are, can she afford both a rotary cutter AND a cutting mat? I don't know. Besides somebody already pointed out that in the days before rotary cutters and cutting mats, quilters, yes quilters too, used scissors. Just like with speaking, it is sometimes better to think for a minute before commenting on youtube. I normally try to think for a minute before replying to a comment like yours but it was just too judgmental and so I'm sorry for becoming judgmental and pedantically preachy myself. 😊
Beautiful
And what do you think we used before rotary cutters came along? For hundreds of years people use scissors and made mighty gorgeous quilts.
I think many quilters spend too much time trying to get it perfect. It's refreshing to see someone with freedom to create without perfection.

Sri Lanka according to her website.
@@melodied4314 Thank you.
Again the white square should measure 41/2" not 4 " for two 2 1/2". blocks sewn together to fit on one side!
Very nice🌺. You need to get a rotary cutter my friend😘🐦🙏
And a nippers
Lindo demais! Vou fazer igual, obrigado!

She was using an iron off camera. She made an ironing motion and then the square was totally flat.
That's what I thought also. 😊
When you are measuring with the ruler to cut, how are you knowing what to cut off? I’m not getting any sound so guessing there isn’t any?
What is the size of the finished blocks
I m thinking the block will finish AR 8.5 inches....

No quilter cuts their fabric with scissors. Inaccurate.
