What's OKPE ? 🤔🤔
Okpei is a local Nigerian seasoning made from Castor seeds that is used in major Nigerian Local dishes to boost the food aroma and taste.
@@chetasworld1is it tha same as ogiri?

God bless you for this video, very short and simple, I did not have to watch 10 min of information that I don’t need .
This was very helpful sis! my first time cooking the famous Nigerian egusi soup 😅 getting addicted 🥰 much love from 🇬🇧🫶
This looks delicious on a cold evening.
This is nice...no seasoning cubes like Maggi just Okpe (local Igbo seasoning made from locust beans). This is the way soup is made. You don't need all these online chefs telling you to stuff all kinds of protein in one pot of soup. If the client was not particular about just beef only, just a little fish like stockfish for instance, would have been ok, not with all the so many kinds of meat and fish. Don't know where online chefs get those kind of recipes from. Their mothers and our mothers didn't cook that way, and practically all Nigerians don't.
The chicken stock had all the seasoning in it
While it's nice to remain traditional, there's also nothing wrong with trying new things. That's how new recipes are created
Poor me cooking only egusi without meat or fish. Yet these chefs showing me how to use kpomo, fish and meat
Chef please, I want something simple 😂
Do u know if it was added in the proteins???
When I move into my new house the first person I’m hiring is an African chef to cook me a huge African feast of dinner. I loveee African Food & obsessed with it ❤😋😋💖🙏🏽

Wiw super simple. Thanks
Always a pleasure ❤️
That pot is super non sticky 😮❤
Egusi is also good with white rice.
This is the first egusi video where the egusi was fried. I was thinking maybe we were the only one who fried egusi.
Okay Perfect we have everything NOW we need to know what is in your secret vegetable blend so we can get it just right 😇💚💚 👀 one love ❤️
Best richese egusi soup, with dish fish and chips kpomon, chicken nuggets, so much delicious and Best tasted with extra rich vegetables spicy
Absolutely delicious
👏👏
Can I come over and have a plate please?? They are not feeding us in America 😂😂
Absolutely 🤣🤣🤣
This was fast and easy to follow. I watched it once and girrrrrrl! It was a murder scene in the kitchen. No blood though, just egusi. 😂
Love that ❤️
When I come back to Nigeria you go cook for me oo
I’ll be happy to ❤️
This is the way I prepare my egunsi, I fry it. With that, egunsi cooks better. With the other method of not frying, I notice I purge when I eat it so I stick to the frying method
Oh Awesome!
He prefers only beef n u added chicken stock.U shl ve also used d beef stock.
Am d selective type too.
Yummy soup.
He is not allergic and I communicated this to him in a previous order and he seemed fine with it. He eats chicken but prefers beef in Egusi soup.
U ship I’ll be ordering
No I don’t
i googled chinese guy cooking egusi, well i didn't see anybody it's a nigerian ting ❤👍
You should be happy that that Chinese guy was embracing Nigerian culture rather than making about the ethnicity 👍🏿👍🏿

What’s a good substitute for the crayfish? I don’t eat shellfish. Thank you!

How can I save this video
Do you have to add crayfish.. allergic to shrimp?
You can skip it
That's my method, except for the pepper goes in first with the oil.
You blended crayfish, pepper, and what? Also what greens did you put in?
It’s Okpei and it’s made from castor oil seeds. It’s a local seasoning and adds a robust flavor to soups and stews.
The green is Ugu leave also called pumpkin leaves
@@chetasworld1 Thnx
I had to google Okpei. Be aware that in the market It's also known as Iru or Ogiri or Dawadawa.
❤❤❤Miamiam❤❤
Could you share the quantities and which greens you used etc?

I'll be trying this soon. May you explain how you did the pepper blend with the crayfish?
I blended crayfish, fresh pepper and Okpei (Okpei is a dark-brown local seasoning that originated in the Igbo region of Nigeria).
@@chetasworld1 thank you!
How healthy is the palm oil? Can we use refined vegetable oil instead?
Palm oil adds a unique flavor so I recommend you stick with it
