Maybe a nice addition to the format would be to do a 5th-6th gear roll-on test from 2000 rpm to get a good feel for the engine's power delivery.
Most one to one would be a 4th gear pull thats vcds logging data gear for me

OM606 is much rev happier than 1.9 TDI and was designed and built before the 1.9 TDI

Very well tuned shifts and revs seamlessly are linking up and down, proper work. And Hella very impressed .. I mean are you able to put down this sheer power on road with such a shoebox? Any diff lock or LSD or at least some serious coilover suspension kit? I mean at 240 km/h you better do so even if steering wheel looked tranquille....

Sounds like a worn CV joint or bearing wear on the fuel pump pulley...
its a wheelbearing or inside the diff is what it sounds like, CV joint would be a clack instead of a whine and fuel pump wouldnt sound the way it does and would be a hell ofalot louder

@@Uilliam56 That to me sounds like a wheel balancing issue, someone in the past may of hit a curb or a pothole at some high speed and buckled a wheel or whoever last changed the tyres didnt balance them or incorrectly balanced them

I love diesels. Tuned diesels even more, but that smoke is hilarious, such a disgrace. And it not only smokes in spool region, but also in high RPMs where there is plenty of airmass.
There is plenty of airmass from certain boost but it can eat only that much due to timing setup but you still howewer can inject more diesel with even higher pressure pump. And it probably adds few horsepower. In this cases of high compression/ limited valvetrain that can deliver given amount of flow i guess no smoke tune is a bit of wasted power especially in compression ignition engine. It looks bad but its probably for a reason or another way arround. If You had lower compression and higher boost it probably could burn almost complete even at maximum power.
My dream but 300hp & combi & 4x4(torsen)
Torsen is only in longitudinal setups... Search a Passat 1.9 4motion or like me A4 1.9 quattro... But the 6spd transmission... It will hold 800Nm reliably

Makes me want to slap on a big turbo on my Citroën DS 5. Its got the 2 liter turbo diesel, 163hp stock. Should be able to handle at least 200hp.

It isn't actually. Mine Mk4 with GTB1756VK had issues with cylinder head after 50-60k kms of hard driving. Head was broken between injectors. Also had issues with timing belts at high rpm it wears quickly. With long duration and high rpm, you should change belt on 15k kms. At the end, I had problem with camshaft. It is much better to have turbo petrol engine for such power.

These things were fast for what they were. I had the Polo GTI which on paper was faster but when the TDI torque kicked in, they were gone.

I had same model 9N 1.4 tdi amf coded motor...ıt was amazing... non problem,just keep it good...from 150.000km to 385.000 km...just routine maintenance...
1.4TDI is the same as 1.9TDi. Just missing one cylinder.
