12:00 Hmm... I freely admit that I'm basing this on my memory of the rules, but I thought the nectar only gets added to the end of the row if you use it to boost the board (like in grasslands or water), or to activate a bird's power that requires you to discard a food. I'd thought it was specifically excluded form food eaten by birds. *goes to check rules* And page 3 of the Oceania Expansion's rules proves me wrong. It's bird's cost, bird's ability or action upgrades. (Woops, will have to advise Mom next time we play. >_
I think even with a relatively simple automa, still there is a lot to keep up with when playing solo, so it’s easy to accidentally cheat. But when I find out I’ve gotten a rule wrong, usually it makes me want to play again. Wingspan is a great game! Excellent video!
Yay, the return of You can solo that? is so welcome! And the playthrough was excellent! So fun. And yes, that is how all ornithologists speak. Also, Fields of Arle is so flipping amazing solo. Very excited to watch that one.
This is both helpful and entertaining. Want to get my family into Wingspan but they’ve been balking. Playing solo on the dining room table could show them how attractive it is and make it less intimidating. Been wanting to understand how the Automata works for a while. Thanks for putting this together!
Some solo playthroughs would be Oh My Goods! Lonsdale in Revolt, Glass Road (or Caverna, Hallertau, Le Havre, Feast for Odin, Nusford, etc!), 7th Continent, One Deck Dungeon, or Escape Room: Secret of the Scientist
You're right, Nick, there are not that many birds. Take a bird, say a sparrow and add a splotch of red paint and you have a Red Throated Sparrow. Or add some black to a Strike and you have a Black Stripe Strike.
Hmmmmm are we sure it's not just the same bird 850 times? But real talk I've always wanted to go to Costa Rica, and one of the main reasons was the sheer number of different birds and wildlife you have
Nice work Nick. Wingspan is a fun solo, good to see the love still stands. Is it cheating in a solo game or is it just optimisation… (definitely cheating but who cares!) A multi deck game of Legendary would be fun! Get some insane hero combos going. Or go nuts and have a roll & write day - a few quick r&w games back to back vs the comments. Cartographers, Railroad Ink, etc Also as an aside, where has the new play-mat/table cover come from?
For filming purposes we’ll just carry on doing them home for the foreseeable future. In terms of where we’ll go for game days to get away from it?… that is one we’re sad to say we don’t have an answer for
Love this set up and series but please don't include expansions going forward. Not everyone has all, if any, of a games expansion. Teaching the solo variation on the base makes the instructions and playthrough more accessible to a larger audience. I'm not saying completely ignore expansion variations but maybe just touch on them here and there. Thank you!!!
That is a totally valid critique, and for the most part we will mostly stick to base games. These ones I threw is because the 2 expansions don't change all that much, so I figured it was still a good representation of the base game solo. Thank you for the feedback!
The Brothers Murph is temporarily rebranded as The Uncle Murph - congratulations Mike!

Thanks for teaching me Wingspan! Will be watching more of your solo teaches, super clear! Thanks!

Agreed the mistakes happen and usually don’t mar the experience
LOVE this game and this idea of solo playthrough series! Great job Nick, looking forward to the next one. Would love to see Empire of the North!
Oooh we’ve been wanting to play this solo again so I think we gotta make this happen
Really excited to see you play some games solo and really spread your wings!
I see what you did there!
Yay, the return of You can solo that? is so welcome! And the playthrough was excellent! So fun. And yes, that is how all ornithologists speak. Also, Fields of Arle is so flipping amazing solo. Very excited to watch that one.
Yeah we are excited to be doing these again and adding the Playthrough part as well so stay tuned for more!
The runaway cards a few times through the playthrough cracked me up. They're like "I'M OUT"
Great video. Love the solo stuff.
Byeeeeeeeeeeeee
This is both helpful and entertaining.

That's a really good plan! Kind of explain parts of it as people take interest passing by
Glad to see you making solo mode videos. What are the upgraded components you are using and where did you get them?
They are pieces we 3-d printed ourselves
@@TheBrothersMurph outstanding! Time to get in business. I must of spaced out when you explained that
I'd love to see a solo of Everdell with one or some of the expansions! Or just a regular 2 player playthrough with expansions
Righteous! We were just thinking of maybe doing everdell!
Thanks for this great Video! Love solo content.
Thank you!
We shall add these to the list of potential games!

Exactly! Same bird! Big-Ornithologist is lying to us!
You had 4 eggs at the end, not 3, one purple one was hiding. Well played anyway.
Oops!
24 points on cards!? Wild. I just played last night and the automa got 79!! I lost by 25 total. First time playing automa on OE. Lot of fun
Ooo didn't pay for that bird at 31:00. It's okay, we all know pink birds are free.
Everyone at the table agreed when this was filmed they pink indeed is free! Free as a…. Bird
Just in my country of Costa Rica alone, we have over 850 different species of birds. So, imagine an expansion with just the birds we have here!
Hmmmmm are we sure it's not just the same bird 850 times?
But real talk I've always wanted to go to Costa Rica, and one of the main reasons was the sheer number of different birds and wildlife you have
Great job Nick! Congrats Mike! Didn't realise other than Arnie could man birth, but great job either way!
He dug deep to get it done!
Congrats to Mike and his wife!
Thank you!!
Marvel Champs solo! Cascadia might be cool as well :)
Don't have Marvel Champions unfortunately, but would definitely be playing it here if I did!

I've been thinking of doing some Legendary, or maybe Cartographers where viewers can play along
@@TheBrothersMurph i encourage this - love some cartographers
Awesome! I wonder if there will be another expansion. I sure hope so. You do a great job! :)
I do believe they had mentioned several expansions are planned so stay tuned!
Yup! An Asia one is expected to be released next
Could you do a Merchants and Marauders solo playthrough? Congrats to the new parents!
Ooh interesting choice we’ve never played that one period so we gotta track down a copy!
Where will you go now that the Gamehaus closed.
For filming purposes we’ll just carry on doing them home for the foreseeable future. In terms of where we’ll go for game days to get away from it?… that is one we’re sad to say we don’t have an answer for
There are 11 types of birds. They made up all the rest. Very creative.
Yeah Big-Ornithologist is really pulling one over on us!
