      @@MetalGearRaxis ask Roland and Glenbrook. Caused a political divide that was going to end in tyranny or civil war. In the ending where Aesfrost succeeds, the poor are fucked even harder while the Royalists continue to do their thing with any attempts at compassion crushed beneath the heel of competition. Plus you see what happens when the poor attempt to use Aesfrost's claims of meritocracy, they are jailed or their information suppressed.
      The fact the Royalists are omitted from the argument highlights the necessity of their atonement at the mines for actual crimes they committed over the generations. Maybe working at the mines will make them atone or they would be an outlet for the Roselle to vent their frustrations upon for their eternal resentment towards the goddess for taking away everything they had.

    The worst part about this ending is that you can see how Roland came to this decision. It saves the most lives and sacrifices the least. It is not right, but in Roland's shoes, when he has been beaten down, bruised, beaten down again, taunted, stepped back up... And FINALLY beaten back down again, can you blame him for wanting to give up? To submit to a higher power?
    Golden Route, as always, saves him from this fate. Giving him the chance to see what it truly means to be a ruler, with Serenoa Wolffort's help.

    This ending makes me feel sick and depressed. Svarog’s rage for his lost son and corrupted kingdom, Serenoa and Roldan donning the Saintly robes and saluting like sheep, and Frederica’s liberty seen as heretical hysteria… this is a TOUGH ending to watch. I’m interested in hearing more in depth people that like this outcome, and I’m doubly interested in hearing from people that were in shock and regret. I think the writing of different ending scenarios is really chalking this game up as my favorite of recent time. So far I enjoy Frederica’s ending over this one, but I still have to watch Benedict’s ending. Thanks for the upload again!

      @@jonathandobey4093 what? I mean I respect your believes but for me it’s the worst ending. You basically do nothing, no lives are saved and people still suffer a lot. From the three endings without taking into account the golden one, Frederica’s ending is the best one for me. They basically discover that centralia exists, they freed the roselle and discover the truth of the wars from the past. Yes the three kingdoms are still in chaos but at least they saved the population that suffered the most, and leave hopes for them to move from it as well or to use the new salts found throughout the kingdom. At least that’s my opinion hahahah

      I like because it's the one with least suffering (except golden ending) and most good outcomes. Serenoa gets to rule Glen rock, Roland gets revenge and as Minister of Salt can make life better for the Roselle, and eventually I believe Serenoa, Roland, Echarme and Lyla are a majority of the Saintly Seven and can push for reform.
      It's also the one route where Aesftost get their just desserts for starting the whole war in the first place.

    I chose Beedict's ending, and there Roland is criticizing Serenoa's rule, because there is some poverty. He watches elder roselle die on his hands, and blames Serenoa. Bruh, he would die in a f**ng mine much faster if we've gone your way! It's interesting. Because we're shown that everyone is happy except the Roselle which we know as a consequence of the story. I'd say that the goddess statue being above the image of the scales is really telling of how things really are. The scales are covered with roots from a nearby plant. I'd say the implication is that the scales are a way of symbolizing choice, but in Rolands ending there is no choice to be made anymore, since everyone now bows to Idores False religion.

    This is literally the worst out of all good endings: the false goddess wins, thus Serenoa and Roland become her brainwashed tools, Fredericka is treated as a wretch for trying to liberate the still opressed Roselle, and finally, everyone has to believe in the goddess' teachings if they want to be 'happy' and not slaves...

    • @MrAsaqe
      @MrAsaqe 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Each one is god awful on their way, Benedict has the three forsake their happiness and in Frederica and Serenoa's case their morals as well to play king and queen even though they are inadequate for the future ahead, Frederica has the three play liberator on behalf of the Roselle and deny everyone else a future because they couldnt stomach the other two options

  • @0axis771
    @0axis771 2 ปีที่แล้ว +22

    Out of the three endings, Roland's ending actually has the least casualties and brings the most amount of people joy. However, such peace is at the cost of making the people of Roselle and any opposers of Hyzante into slaves. And any peace forged on the backs of slave labor is the cruelest and worst form of peace there is. A peace that is underserved for all intents and purposes. Doesn't matter if Roland saved more lives than the other endings. He very much approved of slave labor over a hypocritical belief in equality.

      That’s what's great about it. It’s gray but realistic. In Frederica’s route, they just gloss over the destruction outside of Centralia, and the endless war probably causes more death to commoners in the long run. Benedict’s route somewhat balances both the destruction of normal citizens and rosellan.

      Frederica failed her mother as equally as in the ending where she is queen as she doesn't making an impassioned stand to the end. But beg for the blessings of others for freedom neither her and the Roselle deserve.

    This is my favorite ending. Roland is the best written character in the story because you can fully see his ups and downs until he is broken and decides to let something greater than him to rule.
    He and Serenoa are not brainwashed, they dont really believe in the godess, but they see her as a way to unify people, something that Roland knew he could not do.
    Its true that the Roselle got screwed over, but the rest of Norzelia lived in piece. The needs of the many outweighted the needs of the few. That is the point of having utility as your main value.
    The other endings display their values in a very mundane way, but this is the only one that really made an impresion on me.

      Story wise this ending is very intriguing, in that aspect I completely agree with you.
      We also see how Serenoa just gets stringed along in each of the endings losing his belief in himself.
      For me, changing to please Frederica makes no sense when it comes to his values but it does make sense for him to give up his beliefs for Roland, whom he ardently protected the whole game, or Benedict, whom he listened to over and over again because he wasn't confident enough.

      Benedict's ending is pretty normal, it basically mirrors our current reality of capitalism, nothing bad about it. You have to think that eventually better measures will be put up.
      Frederica's ending is selfish, saving the few to doom the many. Norzelia will not know peace since it will be in constant civil conflict... So many people will die and children as well and even if they reach peace it will be just the same as the saltiron war 30 years past because the 3 powers are still in constant struggle.
